The Liberty Dollar offices were raided by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Secret Service on November 14, 2007. Bernard von NotHaus, the owner of Liberty Services, sent an email to customers and supporters saying that the FBI took all the gold, silver, and platinum, and almost two tons of Ron Paul Dollars.

They look more like homeless people.
Which brings up the question - why aren't there more homeless people robbing banks out there?
Hi! You look like you could use some help. Here is my ATM card and my pin number. I'll give you $20 if you go take out $200 because I'm in a hurry filling up my gas tank.
Must have been last week that people were bitching that Google hasn't ported Chrome to Linux yet (here on slashdot).
Have you looked at the source code to Chrome? As far as I can tell, there was no effort, other than adopting Webkit, to make the thing portable. Why on earth should we make an effort to port it when we have so many other good OSS browsers to choose from? What makes Chrome so great? The fancy tab organization?
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, does not go away.
After I lost my belief the reality did go away. That's because the reality was formed, in part, by the belief itself.
I think you are referring to some future reality, which can be caused by beliefs.. obviously. The GP is referring to current reality, which would be rather hard to get past some causal link from a current belief.
One of the points the article makes is that Git uses hashes to store blobs based on their content, whereas Bazaar uses UUID's based on content. The argument being that hashing algorithms are susceptible to being deprecated in the future. eg. recent MD5 collisions.
Out of curiosity, I just checked out 'Girl Genius Online'. Here's a transcript from yesterday's:

I'm not sure that makes any more sense with all the fancy graphics and shaded colors. Maybe it makes more sense to 14 year olds... and yes, I know the Nagle Algorithm.
The even better Honda Insight (in terms of fuel economy), which went for big bucks when gas hit $4 on ebay (almost as much as new), was last produced several years ago and Honda quit it because of sales.
Honda is bringing the Insight back next year, though it will be more like the current Civic hybrid than the original Insight.
The trick is that they use a doped barium titanate dielectric with a very high permittivity structured as a sub-micron grain composite interspersed with thin Aluminum oxide and glass layers to lower the breakdown voltage.
Moreover, whenever fluorescent score motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciprocation dingle arm to reduce sinusoidal depleneration.
But "couldn't care less" is a boolean phrase: if (caring == CareScale.MINIMUM) - one that is easily understood purely from the meaning of its words. There is no reason to not give it a second of thought and say exactly what you mean when using the phrase.
English isn't a programming language. I can just as easily translate "I couldn't care less" into "I can't care less" if "could" refers to my present level of caring. On the other hand, "could" may also refer to any capable level of caring. This later translation seems to be the one you have interpreted.

Anyone else reminded of CallBack Verification from their BBS days?
Hah. I remember those, except I remember them being automated so that you would have to set your terminal to answer the phone when the BBS calls you back. I never realized it before, but TCP does something like this during its "3-way handshake" for every new socket connection.
C isn't a terribly good language, but when you shoot yourself in the foot it's usually a clean wound. From TFA:
"C++ makes it harder to shoot yourself in the foot; but when you do, it takes off the whole leg" is sometimes quoted in a manner hostile to C++. That just shows immaturity. Every powerful tool can cause trouble if you misuse it and you have to be more careful with a powerful tool than with a less powerful one: You can do more harm (to yourself or others) with a car than with a bicycle, with a power saw than with a hand saw, etc. What I said in that quote is also true for other modern languages; for example, it is trivial to cause memory exhaustion in a Java program. Modern languages are power tools. That's a reason to treat them with respect and for programmers to approach their tasks with a professional attitude. It is not a reason to avoid them, because the low-level alternatives are worse still.

n back is boring. And not adaptive enough. Someone make a fun version that is more adaptive.
I just found 3D dual n-back Speed Run. Makes it a bit more interesting.

Definition of "could":
Was, should be, or would be, able, capable, or susceptible. Used as an auxiliary, in the past tense or in the conditional present. [1913 Webster]
