Outside of North America, the iPhone and other popular phones in North America (like Black Berry, G1, Windows Mobile phones, etc) are just another phone. People prefer other phones. In countries that use GSM, Nokia is still the king. In places, like countries like Japan and South Korea, the reason why the iPhone is not popular there is that the dominant cellphone network standard in use is not compatible with the iPhone (which uses GSM).
Do not use a pull model but a push model
That's exactly how Opera's password manager works. You need to click on the Wand button to enter the user name and password on the form fields. And FYI, the security hole does not affect Opera.
As long as these snails don't meet a "radio active rat" that knows some form of martial arts, the world's should be safe from the exhaustion of Pizza supplies and from beings that kill people when the flip out.
Since Nintendo seems to be getting characters from non-Nintendo franchises, they should include Sonic! The dream match of the lifetime! Sonic VS Mario! That would kickass!
You can also probably include X or Zero from the Megaman series as well.
You're forgetting that V.42bis compression used in modems can multiply your throughput if the data transferred is highly compressible. So it's possible to transmit upto 115200 bps (limit of standard serial ports) depending on how compressible is the data.
While booting Linux using this method is good, it's still just a hack. A cleaner solution would be booting Linux using EFI on Intel Macs (and probably PCs using EFI in the future). We'll just have to wait until elilo's x86 port is finished.
I would argue that the Apple I & II made a larger impact on the computing world than emacs.:P
I would argue that the concept of Free Software made more impact in the computing world than the Apple I & II.
I guess a good application would be a multi-lingual keyboard. A keyboard that would let me do standard QWERTY then at a press of a button the keyboard layout would change to Kana or Klingon or some other characters used in other language.

And the best thing about Privoxy is that it works with all web browsers (well, all that supports a proxy). When I switch to Firefox a long time ago, I was still using Privoxy. And because of that, I had no problems when I switched to Opera when they gave away free reg keys.
Get rid of the call centers, keep them in the country that they expect to be dealing with (UK call centers for UK clients etc)
And what make you think that it does not happen on your country USA, UK, Europe, et. Where there are jerks, no matter what country you place your call center it will happen.
Well, all of those open source enterprise software are distributed under some kind of open source license (GPL, LGPL, MPL, BSD, etc) so technically speaking, they're still licensed software.
Discontinuing the Mozilla suite is good only if they would create only one Gecko runtime for Firefox, Thunderbird, Sunbird, and others. Right now, those products are using their own Gecko runtime libraries/environment. So, if you're running at least 2 of those (Firefox + Thunderbird) you end up using more memory and resources than using the Mozilla suite as your browser and email client. This is very noticable if you try running Mozilla suite, and the combination of Firefox and Thunderbird.
Well, since a lot of the new mobile phones today have PDA functionalities, Symbian should have been included in the list. Here in South East Asia, more people have these so called smart phones than PDA users, most of 'em are phones based on Symbian.
Since JDK 6, the open source Mozilla Rhino Javascript engine is already built-in

Hey! Maybe Paris can come over to my house and we can play games together. I've got a great joystick.
I believe what you meant was that she come over to your house to play with you Wii.

If someone named ANALCHAOS told me I had a bug, you bet I'd look into that right away.
I'll be even more afraid if someone named ANALCHAOS said I have an "open security hole."

Yes... but does your motherboard manufacturer follow best practices like Feng Shui?
Yes, since the article is a dupe, I also have to "dupe" the comment I made on a similar article.
