Try filecloud.io they are an Irish company with servers in Amsterdam

they have previously went to courts and got advice from Irish Data Protection commissioner that if any 3rd party wants your data they have to get an Irish court order.
Except your windmills and solar panels need all sorts of exotic arare earth materials which cause huge amounts of environmental damage when mining and processing in places such as China, out of sight out of mind eh?
http://filecloud.io/ cloud storage site (with more features + cheaper than Mega btw) has been accepting bitcoins for a long time, and being an Irish company has to follow Irish+EU dataprotection laws
Except one can not buy bitcoins with a credit card or paypal, 1. because these companies hate bitcoin and what it represents for them 2. because of a high chargeback risk no one who doesnt trust you would sell you bitcoins for paypal
You are correct, the spokesman on the radio (here in Ireland) was blabbing on about them putting pressure on the government now via lobbying. government who in all honesty have better things to be worrying about such as getting the country of out the deepening depression we are still in (and one that they helped get us into!)
but people here (mostly USasians:D) need to know that Ireland had the most expensive bank bailout in world per head of population, almost 10x your mess and probably the most incompetent and corrupt government in western world, who are now running a deficit of 20% of GDP which would make the Greeks look good
and we will be paying for this for many generations:(
Or worse block a big pile of the internet as they do in UK, you know to protect the children (you wouldn't want them pirating Myley Cirus...)
It's ok, its not a long way to China from there

They close accounts without providing reasons nor being able to get in contact with a human
this is not "news for nerds" this is a "this marketing message has been brought to you by the Paypal PR department"
The main purpose wont be filtering, the main purpose would be giant data collection filters for the Chinese

Apple is fundamentally user hostile. It's all about controlling the user's experience, not about what the user actually wants.
FYP

I'm from Ireland
unfortunately Eircom (ex state owned Telecom Eireann)
own almost all of the coper/phone network in country
outside the big cities (where you can get cable with UPC) the choice boils down (assuming your close enough to exchange...) to Eircom or wireless
thats if your lucky enough to have either, since most of the country is very sparsely populated
i am moving to the countryside soon, so i wont have much choice...
what will you wipe your black hole with
Hmm i wonder what the "I'm feeling lucky" button would do
