I really don't follow developments in the video scene that often, so I thought I'd ask. Is there really something about the specifications of the H.264 format that makes it better (or worse) than VP8?
Could it be that the difference in quality between the two codecs be due to the maturity of the encoders for H.264? Because if I read it right, it's been there for much longer than VP8 has...
Sure it's their app store, they should have control on what they put in there. But once I buy an iPhone or iPad, it's MINE. They shouldn't be able to deprive me of things I want to do on MY phone/device/appliance.
Why, for heaven's sake, should anyone dictate what I can or can't put in it? Destroying the user experience is a poor excuse at best. I should be able to keep my changes without fear that on the next forced update, my changes wouldn't just disappear all of a sudden.
Sure, void my warranty, whatever, but to actually impose restrictions as to what I put on my phone? Shit.
How they run their business is their business, but once the product is in my hands, Apple should just STFU about how I use it. If someone has to sue to get Apple off peoples' backs, then so be it.
It's basically because Japan has a HUGE pool of voice talent. They make hundreds of anime and interactive novels every year, it makes sense that they'd have decent voice acting.
Plus, how hard is it to say "ahn ahhhn, yamete kudasai!!" a hundred times over?
?? Firefox is a non-native application on Linux? How exactly is it non-native? It's compiled by gcc for the platform isn't it? I agree that OpenOffice and Azureus and loads of other Java-based junk are god-awfully slow though... (Firefox is too, but AFAIK it's Linux-native)
Could it be possible to make software that emulates an iPod device signature that would stand in between iTunes and any real device that wants to sync with it?
Maybe if Palm could bundle it with their phones it would free them from this problem. And if Apple finds a way to block it, it wouldn't be as hard to update that software as well...
Hmmm... I hope you're not from the Philippines, because the "Blu-Ray" disks here are really just DVDs labelled as Blu-Ray. But based on your pricing, I doubt that you are... Bootleg "Blu-Ray" DVDs here are around $0.50.
But really, when did such buttons ever convince most users to consider what they're doing? I remember reading an installation guide somewhere, a long time ago which said "Just press the 'Next' button until the 'Finish' button appears, and then press 'Finish'"
This was the root of most problems during the early ActiveX era, and as far as I can tell, still is today. I doubt UAC would stop anyone from being click happy.
For some reason, I'm beginning to think that the mouse is the single biggest security risk on a computer.
The stuff from Illusion might be close enough to what I think you're imagining...
... the queen of England is still going after Blackbeard...
Prince might actually enjoy biting your shiny metal ass
... To Boldly Go Where No Ham Has Gone Before...
It's yomi not yumi... yomi literally means 'reading'
...really must be Devil spawn!!

Well, I think even without facebook, etc. humans still generate the same amount of stupidity. It's just more apparent since we can see it online.
I invented electricity! Benjamin Franklin is the devil!!
What I found more interesting was that as many as 22% of female players were lesbian or bi-sexual,
And that, my friend, is what makes them hardcore! I mean, how the hell would it be hardcore if there weren't lesbians and bi-sexuals??
...when it turns out, they haven't been having sex the past few days
Well, if that were the case, it's most likely that they feign a successful DDOS on the date itself then continue on with the "I Told You So"
Well, obviously Tux uses Firefox doesn't he??

Now all we have to figure out is how to collect that light into a ball of energy in between our palms and we're set!
Wait. am I getting this right? There was an RFC for standardizing the use of Carrier Pigeons for IP Datagrams?
But then GPL is a copyleft. You probably took a wrong turn somewhere... :-P

If you want a zombie computer, you should just install windows.
Where laws have no meaning.
We do have the standard set of copyright laws and such, but expect no enforcement. Same with traffic laws and such.
Privacy here is generally respected, just as long as you aren't a celebrity or high-level official

The Japanese still drink un-recycled urine to this day, you know. There's an entire genre of porn dedicated to it.
