Yeah, I don't need a faster USB for my keyboard and mouse. Even my flash drive probably won't benefit without faster memory. eSATA seems like a better solution for the widespread use of external HDs. Plus, it doesn't have to go from USB-SATA in the external HDs controller.
While I agree that this is odd with games, I definitely see the potential for 3d animators. It takes my home computers (note the plural) hours/days to render complex scenes, depending on the length of the scene. The advantage in computing power would greatly outweigh the bandwidth cost here, especially if you could just upload the job and wait for the result (instead of sending each frame to be rendered).
But I would imagine it would not take many people to bog this down.
Yeah my 7900 GT still plays newer games (like HL2, Ep. 2 and Left 4 Dead) at nearly full settings (usually just not full AA) at native resolution. It's not the best gaming rig ever, but my temperatures stay low, my case has room (the 7900 GT is a single slot design), I get an engrossing environment, and my framerates stay far above 30 FPS. I'd most likely have to get a new power supply if I wanted a current top of the line GPU, let alone a whole new computer.
Not only is it $199 for the glasses, but you also need the following (according to NVIDIA's product page):
Vista (wtf, no XP?)
A (nvidia approved) 120HZ monitor. Currently there are 2 out there. And they are both only 22" and don't go to 1920x1200, so no 1080P content even though you're paying $400+ for the monitor.
An NVIDIA 8800 GT or up. Only works w/ NVIDIA GPUs.
Doesn't work with 3-way SLI (for now at least), something that people able to sink this kind of money might have.
Really? This teacher is treating Linux discs like they were 8 balls of crack. And the way he's so holier-than-thou in his response it makes me think it's possible he would fake this. I'm not saying he did, I have no proof. I just don't think it's as far-fetched as you do.
Yes, it makes it so much easier to judge a book by it's cover and avoid being exposed to points of view you might not agree with. You don't want to learn about witch hunts and unjust prosecution because hey, think of the children. It doesn't matter that the courts, the legislature, and the police are slowly broadening the definition of 'child pornography; because its just kiddy diddlers - right? They'll never come for you after all.
This has nothing to do with the pot calling the kettle black. That would be, to use your example, if Ford was filing a lawsuit against Harmonix because of mental anguish due to broken base pedals and warranty issues.
I don't see that happening anytime soon for some reason...
I use Ubuntu. I've been using Ubuntu since Edgy (2006) and have Intrepid on 3 computers right now, and Hardy on 2 others. I've installed it many times for myself, and more than a couple times for friends and family. It does not come with an ad blocker by default.
Unless, for some odd reason, you're including Firefox's pop-up blocker as an ad-blocker.
Or maybe, just maybe, an attempt to clean up what you write gives a better impression to whomever reads the post. And I'm not saying we all need to appease grammar nazis.
Environmentalists (as opposed to conservationists) depend on emotional appeal rather than science and rational analysis to further their agenda. Ergo, the court rightly dismissed their claims for the bullshit that it is.
Seriously? And this sentence isn't emotional appeal with a lack of science how?
Jepson et al. reporting in Nature has stated that there is a "generally accepted link between some beaked-whale strandings and sonar use" [1]. More specifically, during a Spanish mid frequency sonar exercise 14 beaked-whales beached themselves. Spanish scientists autopsied 10 of the whales and all had damage similar to decompression sickness [2].
There is some science regarding this issue. To completely throw it out the window without consideration, calling it bullshit, is more emotionally driven than the environmentalists you accuse in your post.
And as a side point, what would emotionally charged environmentalists have to gain by stopping sonar exercises around whales?

Sorry but Programming is HARD.
Let's go shopping!

Yes, that. Or he was at work.
I think I can figure out who it is.
Steve Jobs. Jobs. Unemployment. Financial Crisis. 2008 Presidential Election. Barack Obama. Obama. Fox calls him Osama.
OH MY GOD. Osama bin Laden is behind Psystar. The parent poster is bin Laden!!
In their own study they admitted their figures were a very rough estimation.
No, just look for posts here with the letters "IANAL" and follow advice from those.

NYCL being modded down? Blasphemy!
:)
What, you mean TeliaSonera?
By the way, no one click on that link.
Reiser's skill wasn't writing books either. My file system doesn't tell me its opinion's.

...4 messengers, 3 weather programs, 2 ad block...
And a partridge in a pair tree?
I think you dropped this.
Portal was simultaneously awesome and hilarious. But copy-pasting the credits song in a post with "martian" in the title is lame.

No, but it does edit files pretty well.
