If there were a good book on how to (more easily) scale ruby/jruby on rails apps, I'd buy it. I don't think I'd buy a book on Ruby otherwise.
"For each of the usage share sources listed in Annex D, web browser usage share will be determined semi-annually by averaging monthly usage share data for the previous six months for which such data is available, with shares for different released versions of the same vendor’s browsers added together to determine a browser’s total usage share (e.g., Firefox 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, etc. all count towards the total share for “Mozilla Firefox”). No more than one browser will be listed per vendor. Other than Internet Explorer, the Choice Screen may not contain any web browser which is based on Internet Explorer’s rendering engine and the development or distribution of which is funded in whole or in substantial part by Microsoft."
so IE-engine based browsers are not an option. (+1 Microsoft)

Why wait when there already devices out there running Android OS that will likely be more well-used and supported? Eris or Droid anyone (that's on Verizon)?
Code offsets are actually the 2009 version of buying code indulgences, which had to be done at a special room in Carnegie Mellon in the 50's. Prior to that there were animal sacrifices, sometimes human - but only if there was smoking equipment.
SOA, Java, Axis 1... Did I take a time warp to 2003? Hard to believe that this would be of much interest these days. Also, CXF is a lot better than Axis, and who still uses Axis 1? Come on...

I think this was posted just to gather good quotes, so thought I'd throw that in.
Seriously though, there is a lot left to be made off of this franchise. But does the sale include that silly short Terminator 3D film shown at Universal? If not, then I'm out.;)

The fact is that while there should be freedom to provide and use free software, and there should also be freedom to make profit by selling software. Anything that encroaches on either freedom is against Libertarian principles.
What they come up with may or may not last, but it is the way things are going, so get over it. Pandora is awesome (and you should pay for it if you don't). Netflix streaming- also awesome. Disney wants to get on the subscription bandwagon, so be it.

Star Raiders's concept of environment was a lot more limited than FS-1 because you had to jump from one "block" to the next, whereas FS-1 had a fluid line drawing representation of airports and scenery throughout a large world. More FS-1 history here. If you are going old school on "3D", how about StarHawk (1979) or Night Driver? (1976)

SubLOGIC Flight Simulator introduced 3D flight around 1980-81. If we're talking about history, that is what really started things.
Seriously. More regulations = bigger government = California deeper in the hole.
