Surely this is something that should be hashed out at the UN
If it's outside the jurisdiction of one nation, it's outside the jurisdiction of multiple nations. Hell, it's outside the jurisdiction of the U.S. Senate; perhaps it could be argued that the intent of this bill is simply to recognize that...

What happened to passenger hovercraft? That's obvious; the flexibility they provide (amphibious, require little infrastructure) obviously doesn't offset their inherent disadvantages (lack of carrying capacity, poor fuel efficiency, etc) except for military applications. What I want to know is what happened to the hydrofoil? I got to ride on one from H.K. to Macao at a very young age; I remember being mildly disturbed at the speeds we were traveling at... I've never heard a peep about them, however.
Bankruptcy sets in and they then buy back any remaining assets including branding at a huge discount, leaving a trail of debt and golden parachutes behind.
In reality, climate science was already talking about anthropogenic global warming way back in the 1970s.
In reality, it was being discussed in Los Alamos during the 1940's. Early climate models suggested that we hadn't even begun to notice the effects [of all the deforestation during the Industrial Revolution over a century earlier]... but that we certainly would. It should be noted that this "braintrust of brilliance" (the world's top physcists were of course gathered there) was also discussing what we might be able to do to offset the effects...
These people are usually a lot smarter than most people give them credit for.
That depends where you go; farmers and ranchers in the western states (Colorado, Wyoming and Montana come to mind) are definitely a lot more likely to be "with it" than those I supported in Oklahoma (you may hear a lot of shit talked about Arkansas and Missouri; well, Oklahoma made those places look good).
Car manufacturers - all car manufacturers - lie about mileage
I call bullshit.
I've owned three '91 200 Quattros (20v turbo 5cyl's, the last of the Type44's) and two of them were running factory-stock Bosch Motronic M. The EPA rated these cars at 16/22 city/hwy, however, I'd consistently get 30+ mpggoing ~70mph (and those those supposed EPA figures were "calculated" for a mere 55mph).
My 2015 Suburban is rated at 16/23 yet I average ~27mpg @60mph and ~25mpg @70mpg; I only see ~23mpg @80mph.
with the code count hitting 20.6 million lines of code
Linux' technical capabilities are all well and good but we'll know that it's truly surpassed Windows when it can claim just as many (if not more) lines of code...
Personally, I'd perform a persistent install [of the distro of your choice] to a bootable MicroSD card. You can not only boot it up on virtually any PC, there are myriad ways you can throw them off or just plain fuck with them. Hell, really mess with their heads and lug around a laptop with Win9x on it (you don't even need all the drivers; present 'em with one huge fucking list of yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager!).
The bootable MicroSD card you can hide almost anywhere (up your nose, in a slit cut in the sole of your shoe, etc etc).

When drones are criminalized, only criminals will have drones...
Therefore, open season , bitches!
*grin*

whatever happened to wing-in-ground effect craft?
I seem to recall Hubertus Bigend resurrecting one... ;)
Deciding to answer my own question, I came up with this; who'd have figured?!

Lead researcher, Guanghua Chi hopes that the study will help the Chinese government...
And the Chinese government hopes Guanghua Chi's organs enjoy long, prosperous lives in their new [wealthy, Australian] bodies...
If I recall correctly, they often retreated to another star system entirely...
Google's Robotics Group Lacks Leadership
Anyone who's seen Ex Machina knows this can't be a bad thing. ;)

Like VAG?
A minibot got thrown into the ceiling, a full size bot was tossed 8 feet in the air...
There's no reason this can't be safely held out in the Black Rock Dessert, with remote viewing from afar. And missiles.
What is the 'connected class'
With more than ten gigabytes in the negative this month for my Verizon plan, it sure as fuck isn't me...

Maybe AMD which cannot seem to compete with Intel on performance and low-power, can make a niche for itself as a secure (backdoorless) alternative.
Don't bet on it; I recall credible reports of backdoors in AMD chips over a decade ago...

It comes down to culture... or lack thereof.
the new Skylake-U mobile chip is about 5 â" 10 faster than Intel's previous generation Broadwell platform in CPU-intensive tasks...
Yeah, well, I'll be impressed when it goes to 11.
The medical industry too would cease to exist as we know it today.
If only.
When I were a lad, we used to load up games off audio tapes.
Anyone else rememer Lemonade Stand? (This would have been in the mid to late 70's...)

someplace like Oklahoma where they can't get in the way of anything too important
Q) Why doesn't Texas fall off into the Gulf of Mexico?
A) Because Oklahoma sucks.
But that's it: a handful of rocks.
If you think the issue over the rocks is about rocks, you're dumb as a box of rocks.
Without those briefcases full of cash, he'd surely be on the street eating I know not what; have you even seen the price of catfood lately??
