his kind of... well... dictating, is when our government back then crossed the line into a dictatorship
There are multiple paths that lead back to feudalism and while everything you said is spot-on, it should be mentioned that, on average, you guys are quite a bit farther down your path than we are ours.
By going baremetal, they're reducing complexity and eliminating most of the potential for what you're talking about. Also, I'm guessing this might be a realtime system, in which case tolerances will be even tighter and bugs would be more obvious and thus more likely to get identified.
Clearly. What I find particularly infuriating, besides the obvious environmental impact, is the fact that it doesnâ(TM)t do the U.S. any good to address imbalanced auto tariffs in other markets if we arenâ(TM)t going to manufacture vehicles that they even want.
...in the majority of the U.S., with almost no overlap. Yet many Americans are even worse off...
Like most of Ars' articles these days, this shit is so badly written that if I'd have turned this shit in the eighth grade, I'd have been lucky to get a fucking B-.
..and foreigners who aren't supposed to be involved in the election doing it.
This is very much a recent (and entirely-artificial meme), as virtually every nation on Earth with an intelligence agency has been doing this de rigueurfor a lot fucking longer than the ignorant plebs realize.
The 'one size fits all' [approaches espoused in the echo chambers] never deliver as promised (this being the major recurring theme of "history"); the "little guy's" grandfathered right to a free market and absolutely minimal regulation from the government is without question; however, society also desperately needs a massive fucking Socialist noose wrapped around the necks of these multinational corporate fucks.
You better carry an armored umbrella walking anywhere near Wall Street... it'll be fucking great (I may even have to pick up a DSLR and head to New York).;)
20% or 100%, it comes down to your legal right to build your own firearm. This bullshit theater just serves to remind that the only things in the legal world that are dumber than judges are State Attorneys General (but damn, they sure know how to suck and backstab their way up the ole' political ladder).
Spare us the foolishness; anyone with a brain is aware of the history of collusion between mob-owned/controlled cab companies and the corrupt bureaucracies that tend to control city governments. Historically, it's been the same with trash-hauling and concrete.
Even "figuring out how to make use of it for real" is still outrageous hype.
"Solutions in search of problems," as they say... or even "when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail."
The working class is completely disorganized...
Bread and Circuses; nothing new here.

They should just ban eating until the shitting's under control.
Thank you.

There is a possibility of irreparable harm because of the way these guns can be made
Whoever the mouthbreather was who wrote this, I bet they have no idea how correct they actually are (snicker).

Ignorance of the meaning of the word "can't" definitely qualifies as 'not being educated."
Give it time; Bezos is talented but he's not God...

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that this meets Slashdot's definition of news.
Lennart, you won (somehow, sort of...); now fuck off, eh? ;)
Expect a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth...

I don't know but obviously it's bullshit; I didn't see any mention of "AI" anywhere.
It's a start.
This is no one's problem but that of the insurance companies... unless you know a lot Tesla owners who "self insure??"
Consider the vapid clown you're replying to.
