    The end user of the technology - or device or whatevet - is ultimately responsible for its use.

    Regardless of laws, the maker of a device should not in any way be liable for the actions of the end user.

    Your introduction slams other authors for no aparent good reason. If you are reviewing a book you can easily say it is better or worse, in your opinion, than some other works.

    It is not necessary to drag in some other persons works and knock them down.

    in various articles inside the various media formats

    AND,
    her name continues to be brought up in obscure places like slashdot.

    It would be good to start collecting a list of known devices and models that are subject to this otherwise undetectable manufacturing defect.

    I work with Indians in the US. They can not go home and work there because as you stated - there are too many people competing for the same jobs.

    The working conditions are not equivalent to US. Nor are the living conditions.

    Were they to return, they would need to work 60-80 hours a week for less than 1/4 the equivalent buying power of the salary they receive here in the US for a 40 hour work week.

    If they are so much as late to work one day they are booted and a new slave takes over.

    That is the reality of work in India.

    Wyant is quick to point out PUC won't be using power lines to deliver Internet access directly into the home. Instead, the company is installing wireless access points along its medium-voltage lines in densely populated residential areas.

    These wireless "boxes" convert data so they can be sent through the grid and on to PUC's fibre-optic backbone, which connects to the Internet. Home computers equipped with 802.11b or "Wi-Fi" wireless access cards and within 150 metres of these access points will be able to use the service.

    The advantage of this approach, said Wyant, is that instead of being tied to home with cable or DSL service, a power-line subscriber with a wireless card can use the service anywhere in Sault Ste. Marie that's within range of an access point.

    There is no business difference between someone who telecommutes from India or Indiana.

    I am tracking and sorting the hosts and addresses used. When I received one message directed to a completely different address I searched my mail files for references to the offending relay server.

    I found the culprit, sent him a seperate email from my swamped email address.

    He cleaned his system, removed the virus, and so far I have not seen any more going to that address.

    I am expecting to see some come in but have not yet.

    my conclusion - some names are generated, others are pre-determined.

    4 guys worked for me in 2002
    1 was layed off in May 2002. spent about 5 months searching before hire.
    1 was layed off in Jan 2003. He is still unemployed after 12 months of heavy searching.
    1 was layed off in Apr 2003. spent 7 months finding a position before hire.
    1 was layed off in Sep 2003. No leads, still searching.
    I was layed off in Oct 2003. 8 interviews. still searching.

    I would prefer multiple part-time, off-site sysadmin gigs. I have performed remote administration for the past 10 years. It would save a company money to pay me to work remote most days and come in bi-weekly if required.

    If Americans, the top consumers in the world, have no jobs they can not pay the prices demanded by the megacorps.

    Thus, the savings realized in offshore of tech jobs will be negated.

    HP makes tech toys.
    Tech Workers but Tech Toys.
    HP makes money.

    HP makes tecy toys with outsourced foreign local workers.
    Customerbase in US decreases.
    HP makes less money.
