Essentially you create a design on CAD and feed it to a special device which will allow for faster development of a product than hand made models would allow (and its much cheaper as well!)
I hear everyone talking about using it for international flights - but seriously, how would you be able to even take advantage of it with the crappy up time of current batteries? I mean, we're talking 3 hours TOPS.
I think that if they are going to start adding services like this, than they need to add DC sockets like in automobiles, allowing the use of laptops or other devices (at least for transcontinental jets).....

What's going to stop me from connecting a damn recorder to the ANALOG outputs of these CD players and producing a NEAR CD quality copy? NOTHING (at least, as of yet).
I say, whatever. If they want to further alienate me and there other customers who are quite willing to purchase CD's as long as I can PREVUE them (and I'm not talking about a 30 second clip, I'm talking about the ENTIRE CD), than fuck 'em.

Step 3. Make much more profit, stop wasting money on frivolous research showing that there is X amount of piracy (since it really doesn't exist too much anymore since people are WILLING to pay for CD's).
Step 4. Sit back and watch the dough roll in....

I bet that most of the people that downloaded the CD went right out and bought it when it was released. I believe that everyone here is misunderstanding the article. I don't believe that the author is referring to running networks signals directly over the actual CONDUIT, rather than the POWER wires.
I posted a reply earlier in this thread stating the reasons:
1. The NEC (National Electrical Code) specifically states that all power conductor carrying conduits must be grounded in case of a short circuit. So essentially even if they tried to send a signal through the "conduit" it would go directly to earth (even if they tried to use pipes, etc - almost every installation is grounded).
2. Even if the installation they were using WASN'T grounded, the NEC wouldn't allow for this - there is the possibility of people being electrocuted. Secondly, the connection joints between fittings (such as conduit and pipe), aren't the greatest. They usually have reduced conductivity due to some sort of lubricating grease between them.
I believe that they are talking about running the signals through the power lines (which is what the railroads, and power industry have been doing for a long time already). All you do is modulate a signal at a different carrier frequency than 60Hz. The arguements that people have been using that the "lights flash and disrupt radio signals, blah blah blah" would be irrelavant in this situation since the "runs" are underground already - and shieleded by a LOT of "earth."

If they have CSS installed, than they must pay roylty fees since this is part of the legitimate standard. So.....The question still stands - can they import them legally into the US? If the DCMA stands, the US gov't may consider this an infringement of "reverse engineering" since they aren't paying any licensing fees!

Species don't die off by themselves - there are reasons for extinction. The biggest of this time period being HUMANS. We have literally obliterated thousands of different species of animal out of existance - all through over population, over developement, and over hunting.
The recent developements of genetic cloning and DNA research will hopefully provide the means to re-introduce some of these long forgotten species of animals back to our planet and fill their void in the "life cycle."
