Plus, I imagine the military would get a huge stiffy if they had a decent working 'virtual sandtable' they could deploy in the field. Even in planning training exercises it could be immensely popular.
I will admit, I did download a pirated version of those games. I liked them so much I went out and brought actual box copies of them. They are good games, fun to play. Although every time I get a capital ship to level 10 it lasts all of 5 minutes as the computer loves to just rain down hurt on it.
Odd, I have the opposite problem. Then again, neither the PS3 or XBox360 seem terribly efficient at getting rid of that excess heat. Both sit on a glass shelf in a metal entertainment center in my apartment and I could probably use both to cook some hotwings at night if I get hungry.
Also, save for the hardcore geek, I don't think the average consumer is looking at either console in terms of hackability or what OS they can put on it. I buy it to play games. If it does that, then it serves the purpose for which it was purchased.
To be fair, I voted for Obama because his campaign here in Oklahoma promised me cookies would follow if he became President. I guess this is close... I was kind of hoping for chocolate chip.
Coping mechanisms aren't formed when someone does a 'wrong' action, merely a stressful one. How many people in high stress jobs have a drinking or drug problem as their coping mechanism?
In a normal circumstances I will probably not be exposed to a situation where I will have to kill someone. However, if I'm the victim of a mugging gone bad and I have to kill him or he will kill me, believe that's what will happen. There is no sense of right or wrong, merely that I must survive. It will probably be stressful afterwards, and I will probably adapt dark humor to avoid thinking about it.
And thank you for showing you have no concept of how military chain of command and subordination works.
I was piloting one of those new British subs with Windows on it and I kinda got spooked when Clippy popped up and fired a torpedo by accident right at the cable. Damned animated paperclip.
Wasn't there a psych study done where they found that even though a particular medication being offered was in the same dosage and composition, patients reported 'feeling better' from pills that were unique shapes or colors? Anyone else heard of this before?
I tried to google right quick but my company blocks anything with 'blog' and somethings with 'forum' in the address.
DeadManCoding is correct. Look for the obit in the local paper. Most obits also list the funeral home that will be providing the services as well as a location where the body will be put to rest (if this was their option, cremation makes things harder). The funeral home will have a record if the services (IE, they received the person) were performed there. They would also know how to find out where said person is buried. I do not know because I think this varies state to state, but...The fact of death (name, date, place) of an individual is public knowledge. Death certificates themselves may be a confidential record for X years... Anyone know more about this? It is all I can remember from when my father passed in August.
This is what my father did. USB stick, text file, safe deposit box, instructions I was to receive that upon his death. Text file had a list of user names and passwords, along with email addresses I was to contact. Simple and easy. Made dealing with the rest of the arrangements easier...
Raise the security alert level! All hands to battle stations! The CEO needs to buy his daughter a pony! Okay, maybe I'm being a bit of an ass now with that last statement.. Still, I have this mental image of their offices resembling the corridors of a starship when they do this.
Oh, please say we can make said beowolf cluster look like a Borg cube!
And somewhere in that mess, someone was enjoying some porno only to have their fantasy broken by the defensive line of the Cardinals.

He's almost to the point of provoking pretentious Polonium Putin!

Let me donate to this worthy cause.
In Soviet Russia, kernel compiles you!

Hence the quotes around the word age.
'Age' does not guarantee wisdom, would be my only complaint.

Seriously, who the hell keeps putting either of those two tags in stories that have no political connotation to them?
We (the US) have been trying:

Mitch, is that you? I knew you'd come back!
Thank you Captain Obvious, I now have something to retort with at a later date!
My dad probably would have found it funny too. We both have/had a sick sense of humor.
Father died of cancer, a little past the six month mark. He kind of saw it coming.

When this baby hits 88 arcseconds per hour, you're going to see some serious shit.

It's a good thing Jusge broke in at the end to put an end to all this corruption!
