You should really look at what the current maintenance fees are before making stupid statements as there appears to be prior art on a sliding scale that increases as time progresses.
I can see it already. Someone in Wall St is look at this thinking they can automate their buying and selling of stocks and beat the market, then they'll say they aren't making enough so they'll create a derivatives market in social media futures, then they'll fiddle things slightly to improve it, then when the bubble bursts (again) we'll look back at this and wonder why it happens again and again.
Both, which is sort of what the whole case was about. Just looking at 5747282 for example, the majority of the claims are for a specified sequence, then look at claim 20:
20. A method for screening potential cancer therapeutics which comprises: growing a transformed eukaryotic host cell containing an altered BRCA1 gene causing cancer in the presence of a compound suspected of being a cancer therapeutic, growing said transformed eukaryotic host cell in the absence of said compound, determining the rate of growth of said host cell in the presence of said compound and the rate of growth of said host cell in the absence of said compound and comparing the growth rate of said host cells, wherein a slower rate of growth of said host cell in the presence of said compound is indicative of a cancer therapeutic.
I'm still reading the judgement (156 pages) but the impression I get is that the whole lot is invalid because page 136 onwards says so.
Not quite true. You may lose "power assisted" braking and steering but the wheel will still steer the car and the brakes will still work, it will just take a little more effort. Those old enough will remember a time before power assisted steering and braking.
Reading between the lines I would guess that this "developer" has performed some sort of chip mod or other somesuch modification of his rice rocket and is worried that the firmware update will brick his car much like Apple bricked jailbroken iphones. Thus having performed an out of warranty mod he is worried he will be liable should it go wrong not the dealership.
Or was it Apollo-Saturn with its promise of quick and dirty into space before the Soviets what destroyed the progression of the X-15/X-20 spaceplane program and stagnated space exploration for years.
1. A method for providing episodic media, the method comprising: - providing a user with access to a channel dedicated to episodic media, wherein the episodic media provided over the channel is pre-defined into one or more episodes by a remote publisher of the episodic media; - receiving a subscription request to the channel dedicated to the episodic media from the user; - automatically downloading updated episodic media associated with the channel dedicated to the episodic media to a computing device associated with the user in accordance with the subscription request upon availability of the updated episodic media, the automatic download occurring without further user interaction; and - providing the user with: an indication of a maximum available channel depth, the channel depth indicating a size of episodic media yet to be downloaded from the channel and size of episodic media already downloaded from the channel, the channel depth being specified in playtime or storage resources, and the ability to modify the channel depth by deleting selected episodic media content, thereby overriding the previously configured channel depth.
To infringe claim 1 it would seem that you need at least one electric motor driving one pair of wheels and a second electric motor driving a second pair of wheels. i.e. four wheel drive with two electric motors (plus a third electric motor coupled to the IC engine).
Not sure (without hunting down that judgement) how given their extensive citing of Toyota products in their spec that they somehow convinced a court to award a win in 2005?
There are EP equivalent filings that designate NL
EP1504445 and EP1307833 are both in force in NL
Other anomalies include several mobile high gravity areas that seem to track Christiano Ronaldo and several other soccer players.

Come on, this is a Slashdot summary of a 150+ page dense legal ruling distilled down to one single sentence. Of course it missed the point.

Thus proving that you didn't RTFA

My experience is that the wheel doesn't lock until the key is actually removed though that may vary between manufacturers.

Is it a waste of my time to point out that the UK has had a Bill of Rights since 1689 thus predating the American version by some 100 years.
Not to mention the more recent European Convention on Human Rights which was written in the 1950s by a Brit.

They got rid of the Mark ages ago.

or maybe a remake of an obscure 70s tv show.
He just created a new cycling team called Team RadioShack and will have to change the name to match, he had the t-shirts printed and everything.

No, it won't convince any of the idiots who think we never landed on the moon. No amount of evidence ever will.
Meh, hardly worth the hassle.
