Actually, Microsoft makes the rules about how long support for their products last. I'm not sure where your rules even came from, but they have no applicability to this situation... or I suspect anything.
FUCK YES let's stand up for our rights to... what exactly? I am not totally following the source of the moral outrage - you're upset that Comcast has one specific offer you don't like? Or maybe you're pissed you have to pay for it? Clarify.
ISPs are fine with P2P software. They aren't huge fans of degrading the connection speeds for all users so a few obsessive pirates can build a movie collection they literally couldn't watch in their remaining lifetime, though.
No, actually, that's not the case at all. What's done with state money is the concern of the state's residents, which they generally determine through a representative process. The federal gov't may well be distributing money (unconstitutionally) to "even things out" but that doesn't give Californians the right to tell Tennesseans how to run their state.
It's primarily used by ads - which bring no benefit to the user.
Well, you mean aside from enabling people to provide content everybody seems to want without demanding a direct payment.
Also, in many cases outside the Slashdot crowd, people actually don't mind finding out about products and services that may interest them. Shocking, I know, but you aren't actually the arbiter of taste for anyone but yourself.
What makes me laugh is that your entire argument for why Microsoft won't be able to get this working is that Linux sucks. I suspect that wasn't the point you were trying to make...
I don't know about you, but I don't feel like subsidizing your ability to gain income. Feel free to invest your own money like every other damned businessperson.
It should be one more thing the government takes care of. The national debt is only 14 trillion now, so clearly it has room to grow. When it gets to a quadrillion, then we're talking real money.
Most people understand that companies are in it for the money. I don't know why those of you who consider yourselves to be more intelligent than "the sheep" would be foolish enough to not get that.
Pretty sure Microsoft has lawyers almost everywhere.
It's a pretty simple standard, if it makes you tug at your collar, it gets an R, but if you get wood, it's X.
I'm jealous, you used to be all about me :(
You can expect anything you want, really. It's one of things that's great about being human.

No, you're lying. At least you had the cowardice to do so anonymously.

Wait, which god? There are so many, and most of them are complete assholes...

Shocking, they are trying to make some money providing a service you apparently want? They must be pure evil.
Have you rigorously maintained records of this? People tend to forget incidents that disconfirm their personal biases.
How many kids do you have, and how many school districts are they attending, exactly? Aside from your entire argument, that was a great argument.
What I always wonder is why bother trying to convince them? Who cares? Let them be ignorant.
...are you seriously in doubt or just being a dick?
But this isn't even about the Java language. Are you just taking any old opportunity to bitch?
Did you mean to respond to me? I'm not sure how what you said is relevant to anything... like, at all.

Maybe I'm stupid, but how does having everything behave like an object preclude operator overloading, multiple inheritance, or a preprocessor?
So you never use your phone but you need lots of data? Get a Mifi.

Yes, liberate us from clean well water - shit right in the hole pls.
