In europe I found the lack of immediate service problematic. I expect a waitress within 3 minutes to get my drink order and within 5 minutes after that to have my dinner order and a drink in front of me. This is standard at most, if not all, american establishments.

In europe it took 15 minutes to get the drink order and another 30 before we were ordering our meal. The level of "A Meal is an adventure" was way up. In the US a meal is a meal.

In the US I complained when it took 15 minutes before a waitress came to our table. I got a free meal for 2 out of that complaint. Of course.. I ended up never going back because I dont have time to waste.

Keep my Tea glass filled, the food on my plate, and I dont care about your kids and you dont care about mine. I will give you 15% for this service and less if you dont. I may give you 20% if you time the Tea refills so it does not destroy the delicate balance of Sweetner to Tea.

AS long as the service does not get in the way of the product, its fine.

No contract is forever in perpetuity, there is reasonable costs associated to it as well.

The Sheriff office made the decision to put the website addy on the car and the horse and buggy and the office pig. Some points to make:
    1. Foriegn Visitors with valid documentation like VISA's and other items have been known (over 100,000 still in the US) to not return to thier respective countries when the VISA has expired.
    2. US Citizens are protected against unreasonable search and siezure but NON-US citizens are not. There is a double standard, but that is the case in ALL countries.
    3. We are required to have a passport and the amount of information included should also include a fingerprint. This would allow better identification for various reasons and prevent as much passport abuse (YES I HAD MINE STOLEN in CANADA of all places).
    4. The fingerprints matched up against a database CAN also be used to find criminals.
    5. False positives may cause some hassle but then again you can die if you walk out your door.. some risks have to be taken.
    6. From a fingerprint, you cannot tell what a person looks like, or smells like, or has in thier mind. A fingerprint, picture, and name is all they have.. NOT DNA.
    7. There is a difference between domestic and foriegn terrorism.. its that US Citizen double standard again.
    8. Sniper and 9/11 and Earlier World Trade Center are all from foriegn terrorists.. and guess what, a lot of them were here ILLEGALLY.

The final point is my opinion here. I do think some measures are fine to put in place and this simple fingerprinting is DONE even in BANKS now to verify for checks.. so I have no problem with it.

Ask me about DNA.. and you got a line drawn. If you are a criminal and have been convicted.. then your DNA can be taken... another discussion.

Its an interesting point in some ways. It goes to the heart of the Licenses issues all the way. Consider that the biggest screaming we hear is that if we get a DVD we cannot crack the code? Well we can because we own it. He is trying to say thats very similiar to what the GPL does. He is stating that if you release the code, then its fair game for everyone. He is trying very hard to give himself a loophole on the copyrights revert back to their owner system. This is a fine line and amazing legal stepping.

Its flat wrong, but thats not the case here. I can release my products under any license otherwise ALL licenses are invalid. If I cannot release it under a EULA, or a Public Domain licensing scheme than ANY license scheme would be invalid. The only 2 other things is you cannot release your source code to allow any others to use it, or everyone can use all code.
