DRM just is crazy. I have Galactic Civilizations 2 and Sins of a Solar Empire. Now I end up installing the "Impulse" to get an "update" for my software. It requires I place the Codekey in and manages it for me. Its great in that sense that I can download the game again if I need too... however.. The Impulse itself is pretty bad. It keeps trying to download the Update to GC2 and says "Application is larger than expected" and times out. I am unable to get an update for a product I own because of the portal.
I tell you, The reasons you purchase software is getting less and less clear for me.
Is interesting, but what I found is that I use Several Methods:
1. -Wall -pendantic, etc. Rule: No Warnings, or errors of course. 2. Insure++ from Parasoft. Absolutely Wonderful. Catches about everything you can think of and we work in our Debug Areas with it. It catches a lot of issues before they even become bugs. 3. Logic Flow issues are solved with DEBUGGERS, and PRINTFs:)
Preach on!! I have Jagged Alliance for Linux, Heros 3 for Linux.. and I play Muds. However, I have a lot more games on my one windows box than on all my 6 other Linux Boxen. Why? Very simple. Linux dont have the games!! I would be off of Windows if Linux had games. I mean kick ass 1st run games. Games are the last bastion for a lot of people that keep them on Windows. OpenOffice, mplayer, etc.. but games? nope. Sorry.
Also, Games tend to use better EQ and linux runs great on my older EQ.
So the question becomes: Do you not believe that someones faith makes up a large percent of the total character of a person?

Excellent point, yes.. I love to look at pretty graphics. However, gameplay over time is affected by.. GAMEplay and not graphics. I am on a 20 hour Master of Magic game.. thats 1994 game.. I would love for the game to be updated.. just cleaned up graphically but dang if it still don't play excellent. I search for a replacement and I can't find one.
I understand, did not mean to attack or anything just to point out that HARDCORE gamers tend to play even more hardcore than Graphic RPG's. All EverCrack, Wow, UO, etc are is a graphic Mud. Muds are still on the forefront of ideas. Want to know if a concept works? see if a mud has done it.
I am still waiting on a "spellup" system for Graphic systems. Lets say you have 5 spells you want to keep on yourself at all times, why individually cast them? Why not just put them in a spellup queue and everynow and then click spellup? It would detect if you had the spell on, not cast then, or cast if you didnt have it on. Something simple could really help. Keep a detect traps, armor, shield, aura check on at once.
Still.. as the old Zork and games say.. the best graphics are in your HEAD!

It scares me. I tried to run my various softball teams via Email but the players didnt have computers or couldnt email. They all seem to have Texting now. Ntelos is free to rcv texts so a lot of my players are on it. I have unlimited now cause I will be sending out 10-20 texts at a time. THAT is a lot more efficient. Txting takes over where email can't. MASS COMMUNICATION.
If the US is the only space society to visit the Moon itself. Did the not USA claim the Moon as part of its territory? If so, would not China or India landing there without permission be an act of War?
This technique has been around a bit. Here is my experience with it.
1. Initially it stopped a ton of emails. 2. It stopped a lot of Auto Registration Emails from sites(Which is bad). Think Forum Registrations. 3. Over time the Spam increased again. SpamBots come from authenticated servers too. 4. Get mail from legit users a lot.
Its good. Have to watch from automated devices you want. However, Whitelisting is still best.
Adsense is just crazy. I have no clue but after using them for our website and placing the banners in all the pages over a month and a half we had 7 dollars(hey.. its money right?). Then slam, they cut us off without explanation saying we were getting to many high "invalid" clicks and took all the money earned back. I have no idea how that could happen since no one I know of or associated with were doing any fake clicks. I know that we have thousands of downloads a month and so someone much be viewing the site. Its pretty sad that they did not even ask what style of website we had. In fact, i know that the first week we had to keep invalidating ads that were for competitors for our site.
So it got me thinking, how could Google really know what is a fake click or not? clicks from same site a couple times a month? what if the site attracts same people over and over again (like/.) and over time they click? Could they even track Tor/Onion clicks? In the end.. Whatever method they are using has to be flawed.
Google Adsense is not on my radar for making any money off a website.

NO Ipods to be found. An employee informed me that they could not order anymore until the "new" version comes out.
In the beginning there was... Word of Mouth. A Bard with a Song and performance and got paid from a local Tavern or Hall. Then there was Radio.. Radio provided access to huge amounts of people at once. They could get a taste for the product and then go purchase it because they could not keep the taste. Then there were tapes... Taped Radio was a cheap way of getting music but the music was of a lower standard and so the RIAA never came down.. the advertising was very helpful to them in their view. Music Entertainers got paid still by performance and some small royalties.
Now we have Music that could not be played on Radios or controlled being sent out and listened too by millions of extra ears. Music that has caused the surge of bands from Europe and other places that are not know in the USA. Music that would not be played because RADIO stations cater to people who would PAY for things... thus the music may not have been purchased anyways.
What happens? Music may not be purchased as much, but we have broader bands still roaming the lands getting paid to perform at a Tavern or a Concert Hall. The huge entertainers will still get the money and now we have more Middle Class Entertainers who can make a decent living performing.
Bottom Line: Make good music and people will buy it and they WILL go to see your concerts. Make mediocre Music and people will not do either. More music out there means get Lean and Mean or get destroyed.
We end up with better music across all Genres and we pay less to test the waters.
How exactly were you "refused" entry? you just had an "iterative Visa process". You still got entry and just had issues with paperwork. No reason to say you were refused entry at this stage because you were not.
