Maybe we should pass a law that says the government must follow the laws of our land? Oh wait.... nevermind. I got it!!!! we'll put the feds on double secret probation. Yeah, that'll work.
The Dick Act of 1902 provided for the training part by creating the nation guards. State militias with access to money for weapons and training.
I agree with your assertion that well regulated means in proper working order. I think the founders are turning over in their graves at the way that our language gets stretched. We don't have to change the words in sentences we don't like... we just change the meaning of the words we don't like.
Article 1 section 8 of US Const says congress cannot allocated monies for an army for more than two years. Take this hand in hand with the 2nd amendment language around the people being a militia, and you'll have an idea that the framers didn't want the expensive army we have now. They wanted the people to come together and form a militia as necessary.
I have a smart TV and it's a realy PITA to enter URLs or search for a youtube video. Chromecast is much easier.... heck, it's even easier than fliping the screeen around to show my wife something on the laptop... I just beam it to the TV.
Thanks for the info on the pixel clock on camera.... hadn't thought of that. Also you are correct a CDMA phone will wipe out a GPS receiver's front end if right on top of the antenna, but in a commercial aircraft, it's pretty well shielded on top of the fuselage.
We've really gotten wrapped around the axle on this whole electronic devices on aircraft thing. The local oscillator of an ordinary FM radio receiver is 10.7mhz above the indicated frequency... which makes 100mhz on your FM dial 110.7mhz... which meant there was a carrier in the middle of the COM/NAV band that aircraft use. So we had to (understandably) prevent FM radios from operating on aircraft. But thru the years it has turned into all electronics. It's like the "five monkeys with bananas and water" experiment gone wrong. We've gotten so wrapped around no electronics we forgot WHY.
You really lost me there..... Voice of America hasn't stopped heavy handed governments from rounding up AM radios has it? Well, maybe in N Korea. But they've already restricted ALL radios anyway, so encryption making a difference is moot.
Hammers can leave 25mm holes in people's heads... and finished carpentry projects. Even better, combine both and wall the body inside your cool project.
You assume the police would look into such incidents in a timely manner. For example: http://ktla.com/2014/04/14/inv... . The bracelet phones home right away and the police don't check on it for 3 days. Mayhem ensues. The solution is not better tracking of felons on the outside... the solution is maintain the public trust and follow the laws.... the laws which require X number of years in jail for Y crime. This really bothers me.... the public hears about some guy doing some crime and says there ought to be a law against that.... there likely is. The DA didn't prosecute and accepted a plea deal instead.... or a judge didn't follow the law when sentencing. Two cases: 1) two time sex offender in our town is living near the local hospital. He molested a girl under the age of 11 as his 2nd offense. I asked the DA (Chip Finney, Sumter SC) why he's not doing 25 to life and he said it was plead down to something like aggravated sexual assault, but hey, he's on the sex offender registry. 2)While doing guardian ad litem work 10 years ago, a judge kept giving the "mom" 2nd, 3rd, 10th chances. SC law says there has to be a permanent plan in place in 12 months of taking children from parent(s). The kids were in foster care for around 2 years and the foster parents wanted to adopt. They were military and had to leave while the judge was giving "mom" that 11th chance to fly right. So you'll pardon me if I have no faith in the policing side of a GPS bracelet for felons that would sense a gunshot.
I did recently see a device that plugs into the OBD-II port under the steering wheel. It apparently signals the phone when it's on the driver's side of the car and won't allow texting when moving - when the app is installed on said phone. If the phone is on the other side of the car, it's too far away to hear the inhibit signal and will work... when it's in the hands of the passenger or in a back seat. http://www.cellcontrol.com/tex... and probably a few other similar products.
The solution for NY though is to stop the drivers, not control their cell phones.
You say loopholes and evade taxes. It's like you've presupposed they are doing evil. Despite what they use being called a loophole, if it's legal, don't blame them for playing by the rules. Blame the idiots who poorly crafted a law.
A certain paper company used a green energy law that said if you use alternative fuels you can get a tax credit. The paper industry has been burning black liquor since the 1930s and in 2008 figured out they could get the tax credit if they/added/ diesel fuel to their alternative fuel. Congress fixed it within a year. The company did nothing except follow the rules (which are like walking thru a minefield.)
....And thus, we generate new cautionary tales........ that future generations will ignore
Ever heard of directional underground boring? No need to rip up driveways. Place wires in a conduit... underground.
I'd mod you up if I could! right on! Obama didn't stop it, and he sure didn't start it.

I wish I had mod points today for you! Great points!!!!!!
I want to fly on the very next flight after an accident like this. You know they'll be on their toes!
864million bannananas? Come on, put it units I can visualize. How many LoC's?

HOw about that... you make the start button a PITA to get to and it's use drops. wow. These folks are S M A R T.

Oh contraire..... VW 4 cyl firing order is 4321. The old air cooled ones.
It was so the CPU was forced to slow down so the typebars didn't jam.

Mod parent up.... too many laws... time for a reset.

We could give them all a drug called, oh I dunno.... the Spice? From what I hear it makes travel over great distances tolerable.
KInda like a "fudge factor"????
A dead man switch will prevent the device from being recovered and used as evidence. Better to go off at an unexpected time than get me caught.
So why not program the phone to ping a web site (like the police dept) and if it can't get a ping back, set off the explosion? Failsafe!
