Thats... typically american. "Don't do anything, it'll fix itself"... *sigh*
then again, warning people 200-500 years in the future shouldn't be hard, thats only a few generations, and we can't expect human language to change that much...
I think that if I gave them a car, that would be just enough rope to hang themselves.
If I gave them a lojacked car... then they'd either accept the car WITH lojack, or not accept the car. Either way, I offered.
and if my kids are smart, they'd find a way around being tracked, and I'd congratulate them for it. Then I'd tell them I actually had two tracking devices in it (which I wouldn't)... and watch them go crazy trying to find the second, non-existant one....
Nothing wrong with protecting your kids from the consequences of their actions... when the consequences are unjustified by their actions. Which is usually the case when the cops take someone young to court.
Also... Considering the amount of ridicule that psychology gets (as a real science) from the slashdot crowd... there sure are a lot of people ready to try to participate in it.
I've got a broadcom 4311 in my hp dv5000... and without ndiswrapper, I'm stuck at 802.11b - not g.
So, don't get me wrong, I use ubuntu for fun and suse for work, but until open source gives me full speed on my wireless connection, I'll stick with ndiswrapper... unless it means going back to windows. I'll suffer in linux, but not in windows!
And yeah, I have trouble using any secure connections as well.
It doesn't seem like Safari would turn off such a feature... Yes, clearly, this is something apple would NEVER try to do... you know, apple is against crippling competition. They're all about interoperability.
They've even decided to let us use exchange on the new iphones!
Only orgasms resulting from the game itself counts. As you can see, this is a completely quantifiable measure, and while the result is certainly subjective, its measure is not (well, for males, it can be a little iffy with females). This only applies when you're talking about binomial distributions (ie: Either Yes/No, On/Off, Orgasm/No Orgasm).
Your reasoning is flawed because the enjoyment of a game is on several levels, and part of the enjoyment of a game is based on your personal interest/involvement - For example, Final Fantasy Fanboys love Final Fantasy Games. Even when they're crap (FF8), there are still a lot of people who love it, simply because of the FF designation. It has to do with personal commitment and involvement with a game!
Well, this looks interesting, but isn't it just a multitouch 3D flat panel?.. sure, you don't touch the screen directly, but it doesn't seem to be projecting anything.
Also, it sounds kinda lame...
CRS4 also developed rendering and visualisation software that may reveal the artistic secrets of the great masters, like Michelangelo. A scan of his famous David revealed that the eyes diverge. You can see the same effects if you look at a picture taken from the right angle. It isn't revolutionary, it sounds an awful lot like an awful lot of hype!
Maybe the low levels of radiation over time will give rise to a race of super powered humans... or ants.
wind turbines, and turbine farms kill birds. and solar collecters steal valuable sunlight from places that need it, like northern canada.
and replace them as they 'fail' ... that way we've always got a batman.
Rather than bury them, why not use them to make more energy in a fission reactor?

emphasis on the 'try'.
... built off BeOS, I thinks ;)
its missing the ability to play pirated games. or, it was...
yeah, spell check + preview tends to get rid of most of the errors. when you + education, then you should be able to avoid most mistakes.
bad spelling should be a crime, there is no excuse! ... it should be 'punished' by mandatory use of the built in firefox spell checker.
... but, should we allow 18 year olds to make such drastic mistakes without punishment?
Honestly, I almost got kicked out of school for stealing a keyboard (and I wasn't the one that took it!)
I'm not suggesting that his life should be ruined, but he's being rewarded. That just ain't right...
This is a great step forward for black hats everywhere! And a great step forward for aspiring CS students ... and a step back for mankind. *siigh*
at least it was 2 forward and one back...
Honestly - your name isn't a secret...
and if you're trying to hide your identity and you put your real first / last name into a free service, you're a moron.
Regardless, I think Gmail's spam filters have only let a couple of false negatives into my Inbox.
at least the filtering system in gmail doesn't make type I errors - I can deal with a few type II errors.
What about ps3 emulation?
apple ... computers? Sure, I'll agree with you @ 10-20%. Apple products? much more (especially in previous generations).
If there is a problem with your apple product... you paid too much for it.
Products that cost 50% more than comparable tech elsewhere because they have a tiny fruit symbol on them had BETTER work perfect... all the time.
Otherwise, you just got suckered out of that 50% markup.
Sony tends to do better for hardware and innovation. Sure, they're evil... but at least they're a good evil... unlike apple.
true dat. *siiigh*

... you're not really in a situation to complain about ubuntu, being free an' all.
