Cheaper to pump it into a stream and let mother nature clean it up before being pulled into the plant by the next town. Although I did not answer your question.
Chanute, KS was the first in the US, from October 14th 1956 to March 14th, 1957. The water met microbial standards of the time, but was discontinued as soon as possible due to public acceptance.
Windhoek, the capital of the Republic of Namibia (Sahara desert) recycles about 30% of their water to supply a population of 300,000 residents. They started in 1968.
I think your confusing "lost momentum" for "Dead".
As Miracle Max might say... See, there's a big difference between lost momentum, and all dead. Now, lost momentum: he's slightly alive. All dead: well, with all dead, there's usually only one thing that you can do...
Personally I am rooting for WebOS, competition is good. Good to hear some positive anecdotal evidence.
There was a time many tech users and writers were excited about WebOS. I have read many reviews claiming it was possibly the best OS, compared to iOS and Android at the time.
But HP has taken an extremely long time to ship anything running WebOS. They have a tablet out, but still have not shipped a phone with competitive hardware.
We have not had cable in years, but do visit a relative that often involves finding a movie to watch on Cox's video on demand. The whole system is an experiment in pain.
The On Demand involves going though several layers of menu for each product you might have, for example HBO movies... go back two menus, and then down two menu's to see a list of Stars movies, etc. Why not one list, with one column having the logo of the source, one column the price (free, $5), and items you can not get greyed out?
Too bad there is not enough competition for cable companies to have to compete on usability
I'm not worried about RC's below 500', in fact would not mind playing with some with my daughter. If struck an R/C would not likely do enough damage to bring me down.
I'm worried about the inevitable larger drones flying around with GA aircraft that could cause serious damage from a mid air collision.
Most of us just fly for fun under visual flight rules, and it is incredible how fast a tiny dot turns into a huge plane in your face.
They are the same OS underneath, with custom front ends for each form factor. If Apple starts putting the desktop OS in a tablet, its a sign that all the talent has left, salesman have taken over the company *cough Ballmer cough*, and Steve Jobs has just rolled over in his grave.
This shows that there is a huge market for a better social network.
The problem with Google building it is their sole interest lies in selling all the data. I really don't want my social network owned by the biggest marketing company in the world.
Could someone here please build a new social network that respects privacy? I would move in a heartbeat.
Mac server license is not per user like another popular server with a widely used gui. This alone had admins at my last company with 300 employees considering it. Sadly the in house IT (with 4 year degrees) at that company did not understand our BSD servers, got tired of paying consultants for admin help, chucked the BSD servers out the window and wrote MS a huge paycheck.
Smart guy. But my sarcastic side has to point out that he is a male teacher, so obviously a child molester. Sadly this bias is keeping a lot of great guys out of teaching.
I tried to look at their examples, but with noscript running the page was basically static. Does html5 rely on javascript? Or is adobe incompetent at web page design?
A lot of the cheapness of China is/was not the cheap labor, but rather the artificially low currency exchange. In many areas cheap labor is not enough to offset the enormous shipping costs, but add in the currency bonus and it works. This helps US consumers buy cheap goods, but destroyed our manufacturing base. It is not popular among consumer in the short term, and thus not popular with politicians, but we really could use a cheaper dollar.
Many jobs are slowly returning to the US, the new trend is putting plants/offices in locations within the US that have cheaper labor. But it is a small trend, we have a long way to go on this front.
If your one of the millions of legitimate users out there that just want to replace a failed hard drive in an old pc, or grab one of the millions of off lease pc's on the market that usually come sans hard drive, you will likely use an old install CD. This makes it a real pain to get all the service packs installed.
MS really should have the latest fully patched XP ISO downloadable right from their web site. It is not like they don't already have an authentication service already in place.
What are the limits on this technology? Most 2-4 person planes are very low volume, making tooling very expensive. Could this reduce the cost and complexity of a kit aircraft, while making the design much more elegant aerodynamically? (yes... proud EAA member here, just back from Oshkosh!)
I thought the reason for librarians is to make data easily found by users of the library. Then I go to do research and am astonished by the amount of effort required to find anything in digital format. I think my mom could come up with a better system... the librarians are failing.
You do not have to download a copy for every machine. There is not a serial number in the OS, so download it once, burn to DVD or thumb drive, install everywhere. Apple still relies on people to do the right thing, and it works. They also will sell OS X on thumb drive very soon. Do not look for Apple to allow businesses to run virtual copies of OS X, it would break their business model. They are a hardware company.
We put up a real Antenna. We don't get ESPN, but our local sports teams are sharper on our HDTV than they were on cable. I don't miss the $60+ cable bill, and we gladly pay the $30 DSL bill. Our family spends more time on the net than watching TV, but know that is not mainstream. Yet.
There are far more people with 1 DVD + unlimited than your plan of 4 DVD's. Although still a good deal. We dropped Netflix because they broke the interface, and we could no navigate it in a manner that allowed us to find a movie to watch.
Samsung has shown not only the desire to compete directly with them, but steal all they can from them. This is one of the biggest risks of outsourcing, and a valid reason to pull all contracts as fast as they can.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron." ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
"The problem in defense is how far you can go without destroying from within what you are trying to defend from without." ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
Eisenhower was a great Republican, 5 star general, Supreme Commander, from the midwest with a lot of common sense.
Or at least a shuttle replacement. Going back to landing in the ocean just seems so primitive.
Ram has very slim profits, if they feel the need to enter that market, they must be really really desperate.

Not common, but far from a new idea.

As a private pilot, drones scare the #$%@ out of me. Planes are hard enough to see at over 200mph closing speed.

Of rooted XP boxes?
Microsoft makes it hard for genuine users.
Pirates download the latest update very easily.

Why would they care... is using patents offensively illegal? (not that I think it's right)
