There are technical and business reasons NOT to run your own DNS, even if you are capable. I'm using PAID DNS services from companies that specialize in DNS to save cost. One example is a dnd service that watches for my websites to go down and redirects to what's left up. It will also send people to the server that's geographically closest. Sure, I could pay a few hundred a month for some colo'd servers around the internet. Then either buy some expensive DNS software to do this for me, or try to roll my own with something off the shelf.
ORRR I could pay $100/month and I have the above features served up by a dozen servers around the world.
Don't forget microsoft's DDOS mistake they had when they had all their DNS servers on one subnet. Taking down that subnet meant ALL their websites were unavailable.

So, we're not going to have a highly publicized 6 month bid process, and then give it to the company with the better plane, and then take it away because the local company is crying about sour grapes? And then have them both re-bid, and then cancel that project because it looks again like the company that start with a B is starting ti whine AGAIN because they just can't compete in the competitive market because their damn plane just isn't good enough. So we scrap the whole damn idea till "later" and make our guys fly around in 30 year old gas filled bombs with outdated electronics hoping that one doesn't fuckin' blow up over a residential area?

For kicks I installed and played again last month. I never really took any of the story lines through to the end, I always seemed to get to a point in a line, and then forget which planet I was supposed to go to... At that point your screwed. Plus, kill the wrong guy and you ruin your line.

No, I think we should do away with any system that sends a welfare check to single mothers based on the number of children they have accumulated. Welfare is being treated as income, not as assistance. There's no incentive to get off, and it's a disincentive to marraige.

Well, frankly I'm cool with Alaska. It's pulling it's weight. It has a surplus, and it IS giving back to the country. It's the states on the top half of the list that I take issue with. Overpopulation, no local resources and a that disproportionate level of funding. Some people need to spread out, it's no wonder crime in SOME of those areas is high.
That's my plan. We currently have too much goverment 'wealth distribution' Each state should use its own resources. If a state has a surplus, let it sell it. If there's not enough resources to support the population the population needs to spread to more appropriate places. I hear Montana is nice this time of year. States like California have a disproportunate (sp) amount of the countries resources. All border states are moving in this direction due to illegal immigration. (BTW, I believe we have the resources to support controlled/legal immigration, not the free for all and border chaos we have now)

I don't think the chip would be necessary. I'd bet you could really distort the quality of what it records by putting some light that blasts out a wavelength just outside of what's visible to us, but the camcorder is flooded by it.
This seems too easy, probably would have been done already.
We have kids... Lots of those little plastic outlet covers. They're starting to get to the point where they're not needed, I think I'll use them for that. Thanks!
