One is for Massinova, a spiffy online electronica radio station. You can access it via Radio Stations > Electronica in iTunes, or by downloading their menubar plugin or Dock extra.
The other is ProcessWizard, basically a GUI to re-nice processes.
No, I stand by my original point. "Shut Down" is a "Special" command, like "Restart", "Sleep", "Empty Trash", "Clean Up", and "Put Away". These should all be under the "Special" menu, where people will naturally look when they want to perform something special.
Ah, yes, the Special menu. The one that disappears if you switch to any other program than the Finder. How much sense does that make? Go to the Finder, go to Special? Of course, you could hit the Power button on the keyboard to bring up a menu with Restart, Shutdown, etc., but that sort of defeats the utility of the Special items.
I much prefer the new Apple menu, which contains stuff that should always be available, including System items like Preferences, restarting, shutting down, logging out, sleeping, etc. This Makes More Logical Sense.
The assassin was *deranged*???! Not everybody lives on the East Coast, you guys. "License To Ill" isn't on out here for a while! A spoiler warning would be nice next time!
I got back this morning from a long weekend in Vegas at 6 AM after a night's drive, then at a meeting at 8 AM, gave a presentation (somewhat rambling) at 8:45, and now am trying to see just how much coffee one human can consume. The fact that I am able to construct reasonably coherent thoughts, much less sentences, occasionally makes me giddy.
Which is to say that I think you might be right on about the chemicals seizing me.:)
I was going to read your post closely, giving it due thought and respectful consideration, but since it turned out not to be entertaining, informative, or much of a tool towards understanding anything in particular, I decided to skim it. Life is too short to care what people think, especially if they use the written word.
One of my favorite moments this past year was grabbing a Mac SE from company 'surplus' and setting it up on my desk, turning it on, and finding it still running system 7.x like a champ. It's amusing to glance from the two Mac OS X servers on one side of the cubicle -- dual 800Mhz each, 1GB RAM, many fine GBs of hard drive -- to the lowly Mac SE with 4MB of RAM and 40MB HD.
If using Mac OS X, one could do the same thing in any printing-capable browser (or any other program). Use the Print command and click on the "Preview" button in the dialog. This automatically creates a PDF version of the document, which can be saved and uploaded.
Accept any substitute. Form follows malfunction. The Cutting Edge of Obsolescence. The trailing edge of software technology. Making the world safe for competing window systems. Let it get in YOUR way. The problem for your problem. If it starts working, we'll fix it. Pronto. It could be worse, but it'll take time. Simplicity made complex. The greatest productivity aid since typhoid. Flakey and built to stay that way.
Ah, yes -- the intuitive Apple interface. Command + q is so obvious! Now, where is the "Command" key -- I see "Control" and "Option", but I don't see any "Command"... Ahhh, so intuitive I could just shit.
When you go to do that, be sure to look for a handle on the toilet. The handle is most likely a metallic or plastic piece about 3-4 inches in length that juts out from the rest of the toilet. It makes a rattling sound when you jiggle it. Once you've located the handle, use the handle.
You'll hear a 'flushing water' sound -- don't be alarmed, this is normal.
Once the water sound has stopped, you should probably pull up your pants and, if you have a wife or girlfriend, make sure to put the toilet seat down.

Ah, but it's "openstandards" which translates to "do it any which way," I believe.:)

You're assuming that Scotty, the uber-geek of the future, would choose a GUI over a CLI when VRI (voice recognition interface) wasn't available. :)
I'd like my alias to be Command-M, not Command-L (why the change?)
:)
Command-M (Apple-M) is for Minimizing windows, which makes more sense than Command-M for Alias. At least 'alias' has an L in it.

I really do not see how the "spooks" could cause something like that.
;)
Yeah, but Pagan Spooks could.

(apologies to the Beastie Boys)
should "anal retentive" be hyphenated?
Only if used as an adjectival phrase in front of a noun: 'anal-retentive post' as opposed to 'the post was anal retentive.'
ROFL
Do you mean Super-Man?
Actually I think it was Pick-El originally, but has gradually lost the hyphen and the spelling over time. ;)
Spiderman very underhyped
;)
Spider-Man has been very underhyphened as well.
Erm, no, he meant The Rescuers, first seen in Disney's 1977 movie of the same name.
;)
Tenderfoot whippersnappers these days...

So he was kind of a jumbo shrimp gumbo pimp, eh? ;)

Here's a PDF mirror just in case of /.-ing:

Pshaw! Us old-fogey thirty-somethings are planning on dreaming about super-hero antics until we're *really* old ... say, our forties. ;)
Sounds like he's already got the beautiful array of colors thing going on. :)
