Of course that would be difficult to access for most people who don't know how to use Bittorrent clients.. not me and you, but the man in the street. I myself put my webcomics on the web. I don't have banners at the present time. - www.apokalupsis.com - Apokalupsis webcomics
A number of applications these days are written in Pascal. They include custom applications and special purpose applications. Some utilities and programs you can download from the Internet were written in Delphi (Pascal) too. So no, it isn't a vanity project at all.
If all sites were limited to ONE page only of any domain it would not be a search engine. It would be a joke. I know local sites which call themselves search engines when they are a directory instead.
Google is not that kind of site. It is a search service and to be useful it must search a large number of pages from every site. But there is a limit to the number, I believe.
The above's a nice cartoon with Captain Archer on the left talking to the new 9th Doctor (from the new Dr Who series by the BBC). The sixth episode of the new series featuring the Daleks was broadcast in the UK yesterday.
Here's my transcript from the cartoon: Archer: ENTERPRISE is canceled as of its season finale in May. Doctor: I heard. It's interesting DOCTOR WHO was canceled about the time when the NEXT GENERATION came on. Doctor: Now WHO is going to be back again and TREK is going to be gone again. (Silence) Archer: This is all your fault. Doctor: Oh please. Cancellation after a season on Friday night is historically the best thing that can happen to a STAR TREK.
I just hope it gets shown on maltese or italian tv too or any fta station on satellite or even BBC PRIME (which has said it will not be showing any DR WHO) hopefully.. though I will be getting the DVD box sets.
Live365 has made a difference because it's legal to broadcast music, so no problems on that end. They handle the licensing for your netcast. I have two stations using live365.
Actually even the original series (TOS) had stories which commented on politics and culture, and I don't see that as being wrong. You might not agree with everything of course. But it could spark off some interesting discussions.
Make two distributions then with a common base perhaps? The base distribution being a normal one for those who are "advanced" users, and the extended one with lots of dumbed down explanations and extra guiding GUI stuff for grandmas... and everyone can be happy.
Also Live365 is legally licensed, so your broadcast is covered by them (it is not free however), unlike with Mercora P2P which isn't. Mercora would only be legal if you owned the broadcasting rights to the mp3's i.e. you made them or you have all the necessary rights (probably expensive).
Malta is missing too..
Perhaps switching to XviD would be a good idea..
So the best solution for very popular sites seems to be go to a subscriber model at least for part of the content.

Thanks for posting, otherwise how would one have heard of your screensaver pack.
Is there a gentoo ebuild for your pack yet?
Does it process 48 bit colour like Photoshop can?
If Superman is unpopular now, how do you explain the worldwide success of Smallville?
I think Sanford and Son had a trademark
on junk actually...

I hope he gets retrogenerated back into his fifth regeneration and we can get Peter Davison back, only somewhat older, of course! I can hope, can't I?
I'm in a commonwealth nation too. And I agree the british should insist that other tv stations in other countries show the new show!!!!!

Couldn't you have run an emulator?
Will BBC Prime be showing the new Doctor Who?
Because I can get that here in Europe on satellite.
They haven't even showed Dr Who reruns for some time now.
This is one I would have liked to be included. I had lost the URL but I found it again.. :)
Nth Dimension
We saw that in Doctor Who... the episodes with the Cybermen were the basis of the Borg basically...
As a netcaster for me it is great that you don't have to dedicate a PC, or its bandwidth, for the task.

So now in a few months, Doctor Who will be on air (the new series), while Star Trek won't be.
It used to be the other way round after Doctor Who was cancelled. Trek will come back, and it will be better, I hope.
I haven't seen Enterprise yet on an tv station I can get. I did see two episodes on a station once, but they didn't keep showing it...
Nazis and time travel, wasn't that Galactica 1980?
