In my home town what they are calling the Salem Whitch Hunt #2 is going on right now. They have suspended a girl just because she 'looks' like a witch and supposedly put a 'hex' on a teacher that got sick...
What a load of crap.
I was thinking that the cuecat would be good for making your login password harder to hack and still easy to enter. Pick a barcode and carry a copy in your wallet - then enter a shorter password + the scan of the barcode as your password. As long as someone didn't know where the barcode came from and your shorter password at the start they couldn't hack into your account.
just a thought
Just a thought.
Since in the email they sent they ask you to fill out a form to get the $10 Certificate snail mailed to you -- it is just a way for them to tie your address in Meatspace to your 'userid' or whatever it's called in their software. I for one won't be getting the $10 certificate. Infact I just disabled the email account I had setup to get a code to test the software with.
I'm not going to sell my address to those spammers for a lousy $10.
OK that is one step too far.
Porting linux to run on crisco shortening is useless!
Let's see - run a df to see how much space is left in the frying pan?
or a ps to see how long something has been cooking?
Only problem is that King is counting 'official' downloads from his site in the percentage of people that have paid. How many have gotten the text from someone else and not actually downloaded it from King's site?
Just something to think about.
Oracle8i is certified to run on Linux right now. We use Digital Unix at work and Oracle8i - but I use Linux and Oracle8i at home to do PL/SQL script testing - debug etc...
Did you ever see the Drew Carey Episode where he won the BatMobile? He ended up having to give it back because he didn't live up to the moral standards or something like that.
CD Prices aren't high - look at Columbia House I have bought hundreds of CDs from them at 11 for a penny! I think I've spent a total of about.20 for my entire collection of over 200 CDs! - but it does get harder and harder to think up fake names - maybe i should try Slash Post (the first) or OOG OS CAVEMAN
This will probably be lost in all the comments but, i have figured out how to stop this virus cold. Rename wscript.exe to wscript.bak or delete it completely to keep this virus from spreading. Then clean the registry and inbox/outbox. Delete all the files it changed. Set whatever mail server you are using to reject Any mail attachments with a.vbs or.vbe exstension.
Check out direcpc.com I have had satelite internet from them for months - about 9 times faster than a 56k modem. Granted it is just a router really but still - it's cool. I get the internet and Directv off of one dish.
(You still have to have a modem and dialin for the outgoing traffic...)
I think this is funny because I installed SuSE 6.4 several weeks ago with the reiserfs and never even noticed the lines for the sponsors because my computer boots up to fast to read it.
I too have tried the demo and it is pretty neat. Since this new version has all the development stuff on it - can we make our own floppy boot disks - with custom setups for isp and tools etc included - say just an email and icq client - then I just need to find a computer with a floppy drive and I'm on the net - checking my email and icq! hmm - I'll have to download the full version when it comes out and try it.

Like a 1998 article for example. He has been a linux basher for a long time.
How about a system where you upload your page and it gets voted for/against like on kiro5hin ? I think that would be an interesting site.
My favorite quote from the article.
"Gee, my wife's new boyfriend is much more discreet than the last one."
HAHAHAHAHA
And I thought that movie 'Frequency' was a load of BS!
I bet the ads would not be a fixed length...

So this is basically the same thing.

Talk about timing... Read this story about lowering cd prices on MSNBC.

Your comedy will be missed by all.
Now we have only OOG to keep us company....

Hush little baby,
:)
don't say a word,
and never mind that voice you heard
it's just the beast under your bed,
in your closet in your head!
Exit Light! Enter Night!
I think you see my point
