  1. Re:There's an easy fix for this on Bible.com Investor Sues Company For Lack Of Profit · · Score: 1

That's a load of BS. If you could sue a company for not being profitable then there would be no risk in the stock market. Every time something didn't go your way then you could just sue. If they don't like it they can sell their stocks like other people do.

They know the company is sitting on a highly valuable domain and assume it will eventually be sold. They want to force it now so they can take advantage of it. If they don't want to wait for something that may eventually happen they can sell their stocks and buy something more profitable.

But if you go into one McDonalds then you've been to all of them really. Even ones in the UK are virtually identical to those in the US. Therefore you can have certain expectations about the McDonalds experience. His point is that with Android that isn't the case. He is right. I really enjoy my Android phone by you can't say they're all equal.

Another bad thing is that companies don't have to give you access to OS upgrades so updating software can be a hit or miss event. I've suffered from this as I think one of my apps killed my OS causing me to have to re-install it. Then I've gone along fine, no problems and a google maps update comes up and now every time I restart my phone google maps crashes and I get a pop-up asking me to close it and I can't use google maps at all.

I never really used it that much so I'm not entirely bothered but that's really shitty that something like that can happen thanks to HTC (or T-mobile perhaps) not wanting to give me OS updates for my G1. That's all it can be because I simply don't install apps since having to reinstall the operating system. I'm just waiting it out for the G2 phone.

But I can certainly see how Android is still a bit shit for the general public. Heck I'm even tempted by the iphone. The only thing that stops me is the strict control over the app store.

I agree with him. Flash within Chrome 7 (or earlier) on my Macbook pro is freaking awesome. I don't think there is something wrong with the software on its own. Either the guy is full of it or something else is the problem. I fail to see how someone trying to help him without accusing him is bad.

It's not just that. Compare a Macbook to the vast majority of PC laptops and you'll find there is a huge quality difference in the hardware. Then there is the fact PC manufacturers lower the cost of their PCs by dumping loads of shitty software on it. Apple does not and this gives loads of people the perception that Macbooks run better and some of us that know better just like not having to uninstall all that shit.

One PC manufacturers start building quality laptops and stop installing all the god awful unwanted software the advantage will start going away. Giving companies the freedom to dump crap onto windows does make it more open but users have the right to turn up their nose to it when they ruin it. MS should really stop them from doing that. PCs shouldn't be viewed as throw-away cheap devices anyway.

Sure the fanboys like to pretend it's doing so well but it got owned by the Wii, the PS3 has virtually caught up to it despite its year lead and it's not as successful as it should be outside of the US. The 360 PR people polished their turd well and it looks good but it's still on shaky ground and there certainly isn't any sort of guarantee of success in the next generation.
