That's a load of BS. If you could sue a company for not being profitable then there would be no risk in the stock market. Every time something didn't go your way then you could just sue. If they don't like it they can sell their stocks like other people do.
They know the company is sitting on a highly valuable domain and assume it will eventually be sold. They want to force it now so they can take advantage of it. If they don't want to wait for something that may eventually happen they can sell their stocks and buy something more profitable.
It's true that Apple's efforts on Windows have been less than perfect, that's not the case on OS X. Like wise MS products are less than perfect on Mac products.
But if you go into one McDonalds then you've been to all of them really. Even ones in the UK are virtually identical to those in the US. Therefore you can have certain expectations about the McDonalds experience. His point is that with Android that isn't the case. He is right. I really enjoy my Android phone by you can't say they're all equal.
Another bad thing is that companies don't have to give you access to OS upgrades so updating software can be a hit or miss event. I've suffered from this as I think one of my apps killed my OS causing me to have to re-install it. Then I've gone along fine, no problems and a google maps update comes up and now every time I restart my phone google maps crashes and I get a pop-up asking me to close it and I can't use google maps at all.
I never really used it that much so I'm not entirely bothered but that's really shitty that something like that can happen thanks to HTC (or T-mobile perhaps) not wanting to give me OS updates for my G1. That's all it can be because I simply don't install apps since having to reinstall the operating system. I'm just waiting it out for the G2 phone.
But I can certainly see how Android is still a bit shit for the general public. Heck I'm even tempted by the iphone. The only thing that stops me is the strict control over the app store.
If your parents are that bad then they can just drag and drop like most casual users. That or they should use a Mac. Chrome in OS X has "Open File" under the file menu along with the cmd + O option shown in the menu.
He didn't initially accuse him of lying and I've see loads of fanboys being caught lying in conversations about video games, PCs, etc. What's their motivation? Nothing really other than disliking the product in question. A lot of people are pathetic and quite frankly I'd say you're in that group for getting so upset over someone trying to help someone.
The guy clearly says he isn't blaming anyone and asked if they had something else installed. Quite frankly it sounds like he's trying to help him and I fail to see how that is a bad thing.
This attitude that the "customer" is always right and can blindly acuse the software of being shit has got to end. The customer isn't always right and this shitty mentality that any reply other than total agreement is some sort of attack is lame.
I agree with him. Flash within Chrome 7 (or earlier) on my Macbook pro is freaking awesome. I don't think there is something wrong with the software on its own. Either the guy is full of it or something else is the problem. I fail to see how someone trying to help him without accusing him is bad.
Get the sand out of your pussy and you might not be so grumpy.
Yet OS X isn't locked down at all. Maybe it'll get to that point but I doubt it because that would kill it as a development environment and OS X is their development environment for their iOS products.
It's not just that. Compare a Macbook to the vast majority of PC laptops and you'll find there is a huge quality difference in the hardware. Then there is the fact PC manufacturers lower the cost of their PCs by dumping loads of shitty software on it. Apple does not and this gives loads of people the perception that Macbooks run better and some of us that know better just like not having to uninstall all that shit.
One PC manufacturers start building quality laptops and stop installing all the god awful unwanted software the advantage will start going away. Giving companies the freedom to dump crap onto windows does make it more open but users have the right to turn up their nose to it when they ruin it. MS should really stop them from doing that. PCs shouldn't be viewed as throw-away cheap devices anyway.
To be fair he didn't say they were. But MS is tying crap like Zune into as much as they can because they found if you force things on people then they'll give in eventually even if your product is shit just like IE.
The same goes for the 360. Sure the fanboys like to pretend it's doing so well but it got owned by the Wii, the PS3 has virtually caught up to it despite its year lead and it's not as successful as it should be outside of the US. The 360 PR people polished their turd well and it looks good but it's still on shaky ground and there certainly isn't any sort of guarantee of success in the next generation. Unless of course you tie people into Live and push live onto all your systems so people feel they need it.
So yes actually they are using their monopolies in some areas to help them lure people into their failures and hoping to lock you into their failures.
Just make the punishment for DD losing your license for life and paying a big ass fine (plus prison time if people are injured) and then tell MADD to go away because they're not needed.
Seriously, it looks dumb, it apparently doesn't work that well with numerous reports of lag and what not and it's an over priced add-on aimed at Wii owners on a teenage spastic's system. I sense failure and that's why MS is sending out press releases about shortages. They're making less units to reduce to risk and create fake supply issues.
The downside of course to TVersity is owning an Xbox which is of course more expensive and lower quality so you'll almost certainly have to buy another in a year.
And they're all free so you can choose which ever you want rather than sticking with a lesser version because you can't afford the more expensive one.
And all of Canonical's distros can run anything the others can. They just have different software installed by default. You can't turn your Windows 7 home edition into the Ultimate without paying more money.
I still use Windows XP on a partition on one of my machines for games. I'm not the standard user I suspect (3 Linux machines, 1 mac) but I only need it for games so why would I pay through the ass for Windows 7? If MS wants to give it to me for free I'll consider putting it on a partition for gaming but until then as long as XP plays my games then I'll stick with that.
People probably have similar reasons to me as to why they won't upgrade and I seriously think MS is going down the wrong path with having like 6 versions of the operating system. People don't like that.
NYC also almost certainly pays in the most tax to the state so if you live in NY then NYC has probably been carrying your ass for awhile. NYC will also generate a huge chunk of federal tax. More so than most other cities / towns in the US. So should they sit there any complain when their money helps you out?
I believe the issue is that you don't know if you get high quality discs because the brand name doesn't say who actually made the disc and while you may have better luck with high quality brands that doesn't guarantee anything.
I have all my CD-Rs starting from around '98/'99 still and as far as I know they still work (just used one fairly recently) and I think just as long as you take decent care of things then they should be good. That said everything is still backed up to hard drives.
Maybe he doesn't care because he has the right knowledge and doesn't have to play corporate games like some average coder. If you're lucky you'll be in that position but let's face it probably not.
All real patriots will vote for this because will save us from attacks by Muslims and will only be used against Muslims and they're not really Americans anyway. They're sleeper cells trying to take away your freedom.

In some cases but no, not all viruses are small or well written and if it steals your card details it's not free.

Oh wow zune support. What better way to try and make Zune popular than to force it on everyone through every new bit of hardware / software.
Of course I'm just being a jerk. I'm sure this will be a huge success like Kin.
I'd definitely agree to that.

The last thing we need are soccer moms in some SUV-like thing in the air.

Ballmer has fucked up MS, imo.
The downside of course to TVersity is owning an Xbox which is of course more expensive and lower quality so you'll almost certainly have to buy another in a year.
I was thinking the same. He's probably some tea bagger d-bag. He should enjoy this more capitalist approach to fire services.

Yes if you suck a boat load of dicks. Otherwise your coffee should just be black as the soul of clowns. Foam, sugar, milk, etc is for sissies.
You act like George Lucas is knowing for compromising the integrity of his art to sell a few shitty toys. I think you owe the guy an apology.
