Again, I respectfully disagree, borrowing money from the bank is risky - what if your idea is unfeasible, what if you're not hardworking enough to drive it to fruition... borrowing money against it is risky and dangerous. It's far safer to get some trusting Kickstarter contributors to carry the financial burden of your unrealized idea... or your beach vacation.
What they should do is introduce the.bank domain name, which can only be registered by verified banks, to be used for online banking services to make phishing harder.
This can be argued. The developer could always borrow money from the bank, giving the escrow account as the collateral for returning that debt once the project is completed. If they slack off and don't complete the project - they are stuck with the debt. Sounds like a good motivator to come through on your promises instead of taking a beach vacation.
Seconded. That's what you get for being a #@$% to your customers - I have made a point of not buying a Sony product when I was shopping for a digital camera and some headphones earlier this year. I have friends who had not bought a single Sony product since their CD DRM fiasco too... It all adds up, Sony, it all adds up...
Reminds me of that 7UP commercial... Plantronics helps *cha-ching!*...Plantronics PR *cha-ching!*... Plantronics products *cha-ching!* Plantronics! *cha-ching!* I used to use Plantronics headset for telework, and the quality was great, but I've since switched to a Logitech that can switch between my smartphone and my computer with a push of a button, and is foldable so it fits into my laptop bag... so this story just makes me resent Plantronics now >:(
Simple. Wouldn't be as sensationalist for those who didn't bother to read TFA and jumped straight to posting about hell freezing over. More comments, more ad views.
Maybe my pen is defective then, or I press down on paper harder than normal, because the pen scraping sound is always prevalent in my recordings. I should also note that it's an Echo model, I don't have any experience with the Pulse pens. I can't wait for a newer, and hopefully, better model to come out. I love this thing and its integration with Evernote.
And you still won't have a bill to pay when you leave.
That is not entirely true. For example, an ambulance ride will cost you, having a separate room in a hospital will cost you, etc.
Still, for %50+ of my income that goes to taxes (after income tax, goods and services tax, provincial tax, gasoline tax, parking tax, property tax, liquor tax, tobacco tax and in Ontario as separate health tax), you'd think we got more for our buck. Oh, and have you ever tried to pay for parking at a hospital? Sheeesh.
I still say it's not the funding that's a problem is the gross mismanagement of said allocated funds.
Aw man, that is the perfect example of how social networking destroys your privacy. Why remove it? Not knowing something, doesn't mean it isn't happening...
Living in Canada, I can tell you - our healthcare system SUCKS. Have a broken arm? Go to the emergency room and sit there for 4 to 6 hours for someone to attend to you... What you need is better expense management not higher spending.
That's arguable. While the failure of any democracy is in the fact that citizenry tends to vote only for leaders they're smart enough to understand, there are also other factors in them coming to power. For example, I think there are many similarities in leaders like Bush, Harper and Putin coming to power in how the votes are obtained/counted. Google, for example, "conservative robocall scandal" or "russian carousel voting"...
Canadian elections are even worse, because of the "riding" system - where Harper can receive the majority with 54% seats by riding, and proceed to pass whatever legislation he feels like, while by actual vote count conservatives only got 39% votes. How's that for a democratic process?
It's true for users who don't realize their freaking DNS servers have been changed... Facebook doesn't open = no internet. What I don't understand is why they don't setup a captive portal that opens a message for them saying they are infected whenever they try to go to any website, instead of just shutting the servers down. And while we're on the subject - is it being delayed or not!?
I agree with the OP, three words - documentation, documentation, documentation. That is the only way you are going to save yourself from continuous questions - being able to refer the replacement to the documents you wrote outlining everything there is to know about the system. Then, and only then, will you be able to claim that any future problems are the result of your replacement's stupidity - otherwise, it will be lack of due diligence on your part (and I say this from years of experience in blaming previous administrators for every undocumented little quirk of every system that breaks under my watch).
What, like the Sound Racer with an external speaker? Yeah...

Only if he takes a break from misusing military aircraft for personal transportation needs.

The special effects sucked, not enough explosions and no Megan Fox running in slow motion. One thumb up only.

Why that couldn't be included in the summary?

Only drawback of the Livescribe pens is that the microphone sucks. You get more of your pen scraping on the paper than the speaker talking.

...even frogs have the accent.
I disagree. I would watch a movie that said Jawless in red bloody letters and had one of those things on the poster.
who the fuck would register there now?-D for gawker they brought a lot of loss.
I think that ship has sailed with their last breach, so he knows they've got nothing to lose.

I just use it so my name shows up when employers Google it. No content, no friends, no pictures, no putting things into my, erm, circles.
"Hey kids, wanna come for a ride with daddy?! We can stop by for icecream on the way home!"
Wound you care to Google that, and revise your comment?
How would noise travel in vacuum?
I love eating beaver.
