My favorite is in Freespace 2. Just start friendly firing nonstop on 1 ship, and soon enough they call you a traitor and start shooting the bejesus out of you. But on some missions you can actually kill all of your allies and destroy a capital ship or two. And then after you warp back to base, the debriefings are always different....like "you will be executed at 0800 tomorrow and we all hope you burn in hell, traitor" or "in light of your recent assassination attempts, we are putting you in a facility for the medically derangedn where we will get to the bottom of this, traitor".
Na, I was using it years before I read reviews on it. I was there when my friend first tried to use AS5 on his first build, so when my first build came around and he recommended Ceramique for ease of spreading and remounting, I knew it was easier than the messy silver junk.
If you never moved your computer, you would never need to reapply ceramique. AS and any other silver ones typically say 6 months to 1 year inbetween reapplication.
After it's been cured, Ceramique typically does provide a lower temp than most other silver-based pastes. Especially on watercooling or subzero cooling.
Myself, I'll always use Ceramique. Many good reasons to use a ceramic based one over metal or diamond when doing hardcore cooling and ease of removal for reseating.
Sounds like you've never needed to get wireless working on 75% of laptops because, as a linux novice, I usually end up spending a couple hours trying to get wireless working persistently. Almost all of the work is done via command line, and it is the one true thing holding many people back from linux. I've found that LinuxMint takes a few steps out of that problem by including alot of the drivers, but its still no walk in the park.
The virus was the original, and it was quite badass according to the world. But before it could accomplish whatever goals its creators had in mind, copycats came up and used it for other purposes (research, DDOS, etc).
In reality the creator hasn't been utilizing it, because the rest of the world has been hijacking it for their own purposes, and the original intent of the virus will most likely never be known to the public.
Its very similar. Cept Section 9 took care of this one earlier.
And then kids would buy them and dream of being astronauts and hell...maybe in 1000 years the United Earth Sphere Alliance will finally put money into space development. Until the Gundams come...
Replacing the ebook would break the links, but using data recovery methods specific to the Kindle should easily return the ebook and the links. Its not like amazon does security wipes, too...the data is still there.
He's totally cool for suing Amazon, cause this is bullshit, but...
I'm wondering this: if it was SO important for a thesis, why didn't he have a print copy or another digital copy of the story and the chapters + notes that he wanted to use? And if it was SO vital, why didnt he try kindle data recovery methods to get it back?
I'd rather get my notes back and complete my thesis than delay finishing my schooling cause i'm suing someone over lost digital content. A degree would look much nicer on resume than "i didnt finish my degree cause i was busy suing someone". i'd be pissed and consider suing too, but i'd be more interested in recovering my book and getting the notes working.
Damnit....you beat me to it! The unpredicability of the missions made the games amazing, the ability for a mission to go to shit in seconds flat, yet they would sometimes give you the opportunity to pull the failed mission out of your ass and earn medals for doing something hard as hell.
Freespace 1 and 2 were completely epic games. Graphics were ahead of their time. Storyline and voice acting were top notch. Cutscene videos made you jizz your pants. Control over the entire game interface and keyboard/joystick controls were unrivaled in any other space shooter. True infinite flying area.
I remember getting a FS1 demo disk with my Dell XPS T450 that I bought at a Dell store near the mall (450mhz P3 with 96mb RAM and a nvidia 16mb TNT), and thinking how amazing computer games were.
IIRC, both Freespace 1 and Freespace 2 both got Game of the Year awards....tis a shame they never made a 3rd one. There's alot more to the story left for sure...
I still play FS2 through the Source Code Project every now and then....the updated graphics still stress my system to all hell
I personally prefer Luna Element 5.0.5. Sure it requires cracking the uxtheme.dll, but its a nice theme. A nicer dark blue, an excellent black, 2 different sizes for each, and a super-compact start menu.
Eh, its just like outer space exploration.....if we put all of our greatest minds on it (ala Manhattan Project) then I'm sure we could create something amazing in 10 years.
Just wake me up when shit is like Ghost in the Shell, and I'll go get an Aramaki body from Japan.

It's still my favorite game of all time.
Actually, it doesn't.
Honesty and truthfulness have little value over there, whereas 2 +5's obviously show that everyone agrees with them here.
I dont mind linux mint though....its a nice free product.
Damnit, I knew I forgot something good....thanks Khyber

Agreed. And to the vast majority of Office 2003 users out there, this is seemingly anti-news.
People trying to buy Office 2007 right now realize just exactly how rediculous it is, and are using open office more.
You misunderstood my intent of the statement.

I don't wanna take That Bet, but I will rename it to "The Bet-inski"
One might assume that one of the DevCon attendees was behind it, and asking them for help would totally be some Ocean's 11 bullshit.

The title is VERY MISLEADING.
I've got a few Dell laptops that are friggin ancient in my book (aka single core) and they have computrace settings in the bios.
Get into your bios and disable it, if you have no intention of using it.
I liked Wing Commander, but I still feel that it never really rivaled Descent: Freespace 1 or 2.

Ahh....Battlezone. Unfortunately I'm too young to have played it in an arcade, but the SNES Arcade's Greatest Hits has it....and it was an EPIC game.
I installed it on a Athlon 64 3500+ with 1GB of ram and a 8600GTS back in the betas, and it ran way faster than Vista and was about on-par with XP.
the sound implementation in Windows Vista and Windows 7
ummm..........thanks?

And it doesn't have much of a Comic Sans look to it, like the normal XP one does...
