Google results are filtered by people to make the results more appropriate. Of course they use various algorithms to get the initial results, but for search terms of interest they use human screeners to improve the results. One of the roles of the humans is to filter out search spam, for instance.
Not everyone has read those texts or taken those courses. Many people on/. are self-taught. It would probably be good for them to learn and everyone else to get reminded of the issues involved.
Do you have any examples of people who "understand DNA" who don't take this research seriously? It is because this DNA doesn't recombine that it is used for this research. Other parts of our DNA can't be used this way.
Most of the research I've seen, in particular the genetic research, points to a single origin hypothesis. That is, the theory that there was a population center in Africa that emerged about 50,000-60,000 years ago.
They don't believe they ban frameworks, it is just that the tools don't let you build frameworks, just static libraries. I would also think that if you use a static library, you'd need to submit the sources of the library as when you submit your application for approval.
This is a real limiting factor and almost self-defeating. The female-geek to male-geek ratio is low. You can find them, but unless you're really set on being with a geek-girl you should be open to other types of women. Other suggestions people here have made are good.
In my experience Hotspot Shield doesn't work for me. It messes up my network settings and puts useless search results on top of my browser view and didn't let me view Hulu at all.
From the article it only handles questions from those fields of knowledge where things are fairly well known and formal. I imagine the number of field which apply will very small. The number of people who are interested in it will similarly very small and most of them will lose interest when they find out it can only answer a small subset of the questions they're interested in.
I'm also guessing the cellular automata and NKS connection is complete BS, just something for Wolfram to attempt to claim that his NKS ideas aren't the hogwash that they are.
According to the article Nobi Hayashi is "a journalist and author of Steve Jobs: The Greatest Creative Director." He also doesn't say the iPhone is lame in the article.
From his recent blog post he's upset about this quote since it is out of date and he is a big iPhone fan, but has mentions problems with both Apple and Softbank.
In my experience, most Japanese people I've shown the iPhone to are impressed by the user interface, but I believe Apple and Softbank should to more to meet the needs of the local market. Also the data pricing plan is crazy and the recent price change doesn't affect it.
Forgive me for being pedantic, but Flickr was launched in 2004. However, it is entirely possible that some other photo web site was used or Google image search or whatever.
A basic flaw in Communism is central planning. I haven't studied Communism significantly, so I don't know if central planning is a fundamental tenet of Communism or not, but it appears to be how Communism was generally practiced. With central planning a small group makes decisions, while with Capitalism various people develop plans that they try out for themselves. The result is often that the Communist plan comes up short, while under Capitalism many of the plans may also come up short, but a handful come out ahead.
Often in predicting the future no one really knows what will happen. One conceit of Communism is that it believed itself to be scientific and rational and that there was one solution to a problem, when really the solution was unknown.
Under Capitalism various ideas get worked out. No one knows beforehand what will be successful, but perhaps someone's idea will.
1) The Panama Canal Zone was not strictly a part of the United States:
On July 28, 1904, Controller of the Treasury Robert Tracewell stated, "While the general spirit and purpose of the Constitution is applicable to the zone, that domain is not a part of the United States within the full meaning of the Constitution and laws of the country.
So McCain's status isn't exactly clear. Also,
2) The constitution uses, but does not define the phase "natural born citizen", so it is not clear that being born outside the United States would disquality you.
we thought the language was like Chinese, where a single character mapped to a single word.
For the most part Chinese doesn't work that way either. Quoting wikipedia: "A majority of words in all modern varieties of Chinese are poly-syllabic and thus require two or more characters to write."

Because they're not paying *any* of that money to shareholders
Google doesn't pay dividends, but Microsoft does.
Back in the 90s Bill Gates made fun of how much Apple spent on research and how little came out of the labs.

The ancient Mayan writing system is in part phonetic, so knowledge of the modern languages gives clues about the ancient one.
Groucho Marx is a fine man; Slashdot should leave him alone.
I resemble that remark.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recent_African_origin_of_modern_humans vs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiregional_origin_of_modern_humans
A competing theory, the recent African origin of modern humans (also known as "Out of Africa"), has emerged as the near consensus view since the 1990s

80mpg hybrid
Which hybrid is that?
he wants a relationship with a female geek.

Also keep in mind that half of software projects in general fail; it's a very immature industry.
The industry has been around for a while. I don't see any evidence that it will change significantly in the future, management-wise.
This page http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_rap_percap-crime-rapes-per-capita reports similar numbers. There might be some issues with how the data is collected and there might be a trend for rape to get less reported in Japan, but still the numbers are striking.

It is part of the the definition of fact that is it true.
Note that Obama identifies himself as "a black man of mixed heritage".

I'm an American living abroad and Hulu has region restrictions, so it doesn't work for me. Bastards.
iMovie (and iDVD) can use video from various sources not just firewire. That was a limitation of older versions.
I also think firewire isn't as common on video devices as it used to be.
I rented that DVD, not bad actually...
