    Interesting. While most of the other managers at my company view me (and have commented as such on my peer reviews) as an extremely professional manager. Yet a woman is the ONLY employee who has actually burst into tears in my office.

    Also, it's funny that you feel sorry for people who consider transportation to be functional rather than exciting?

    Maybe it's a sad commentary on YOU that the most exciting thing in your life is a car. Try getting out more. Travel. Experience new things. I feel sorry for YOU if your entire life's pleasure comes from the rather mundane task of getting to the grocery store.

    I've often wondered if the people who find every 3 minute car ride an "adventure" are trying to justify to themselves the amount of money they spend on vehicles.

    There's nothing wrong with enjoying driving. I'm a motorcyclist, I love the feeling it provides. But not every trip to the store is white knuckle adventure.

    It's crazy, almost like people can refer to the same geographical feature with totally different names...

    What's the difference if an Uber driver makes the money or a traditional taxi driver makes the money? Maybe taxi drivers should be driving for Uber and making money for themselves instead of making money for the wealthy people who own taxi medallions?

    OK... but then your problem is with patents, not with genetic modification. Patents eventually run out, at which point a GMO label on food does nothing to tell you if it's from patented seeds.

  17. My company does management training yearly, and every time they remind us that per NLRB rules, we can't tell employees not to discuss salary info amongst themselves. And unless you're being a shitty employer to begin with and treating people unfairly, you shouldn't really care if people discuss it. As long as you can rationally explain to a judge why different people are paid differently, who cares?

    Some of us who are against copyright as it exists now might be more amenable to enforcing copyright if it had such a stipulation.

    As it stands, the fact that people think everything should be locked up for what is essentially forever, many of us have zero respect for copyright because downloading Steamboat Willy carries exactly the same punishment as downloading a movie released last week.

    Don't you agree that's rather ridiculous?
