Actually, that is EXACTLY what "HD Ready" means...it can accept a signal from an HD receiver box, process it, and display it in an "HD resolution".
For some values of "HD resolution". The Wikipedia entry on "HD Ready" makes for interesting reading; it sound analogous to "Vista Capable" given the wriggle room for marketing weasels.
720p and 1080i are both "HD Ready", but if you want 1080i (Aero) you'd better read the fine print and specifications carefully or you could end up with a 720p (Basic) model.
The text and table differ as to whether 1080p is "HD Ready", but since there is a more specific "HD Ready 1080p" designation, that's what I would look for.
China's relations with other states in the 15th century was varied, and assimilation/domination of other cultures was definitely within their repertoire.
Computerworld is reporting that Windows XP Service Pack 3 runs MS Office 10% faster than XP SP2 -- and is 'considerably faster' than Vista SP1. XP SP3 isn't scheduled to be released until next year...
So there's still time to cripple^H^H^H^H^H^H^H market-adjust SP3.
The only valid test would be to put an empty jar in a room and wait for "the designer" to place a new form of life in it. I haven't heard of any successful experiments of this type:).
When you look at some of the flag-on-convenience rust buckets plying the oceans, the fact that some never make it isn't too hard to believe without invoking rogue waves, kraken etc. - Occam's razor.
From a PS2 user's perspective, the upgrade path to the PS3 is a non-starter: it's incompatible with the PS2 Guitar Hero series, even with the Emotion chip (which I'm not sure is available here anyway.) That's partly Red Octane's mistake, though: why on Earth didn't they use a common USB guitar controller for all platforms??
The XBox 360 is a non-starter because I don't see any point getting another PC-in-a-box when I already have a PC!
In no way were the Ewoks and Jar-Jar Binks comparable.
Ewoks were cute, and some of them died which was sad - the kiddies learnt something.
Jar-Jar was not cute, and did not die - you bastard, George! Make it look like an accident if you must, but the annoying f*cker should never have made it to Ep. II.
Apart from that, it was clear from the beginning that the films were solely an opportunity for George to milk more money from the franchise; even Jar-Jar's timely death wouldn't have saved them.
Not that my opinion matters, but I think a lot of really talented people are wasting their time getting pulled between OOXML and ODF.
That's a feature, not a bug. If OOXML can't be made an ISO standard like ODF, bog down the talented people who would otherwise be recommending adoption of ODF to their national IT bodies, or *gasp* contributing to open source software.
The squeals of a dying company are really quite unpleasant; won't somebody (the EU?) please put it out of its misery?

Use someone else's name instead - that'll fix them!

Pope Gregory XIII set the precedent: the leap week-and-a-half in 1582.
Talk about a storm in a teacup! The leap second is the least problematic way to keep things in sync.
It's Daylight Savings Time all over again.
Average people (who care) are used to adjusting their clocks periodically to correct for drift, so an extra second either way is neither here nor though. Most folks won't notice a leap second (or much else) at midnight January 1, anyway.

Yes, I'm dyspraxic. I have a doctorate though, and all you have is a whiners attitude.
Whiner's attitude. Sheesh - so "learned", yet so unlearned.
Nitpick: There's a significant difference between working in IT and working with IT.
Not knowing how to spell/spell-check doesn't make you stupid. Ignorant, yes; stupid, not necessarily.
At which point does "heavily discounted" Zunes become illegally dumped Zunes?

After reading the article, I had to go have a smoke ... [snip] ... in the submarine force.

That must suck, but thanks to technology we have waterproof matches!

How are the KONYIN keyboard's multiple shift keys any different to ye olde AltGr key to access alternate - usually international - characters?

And hasn't changed, either: Taiwan, Tibet etc.

That was amazing. The military needs to figure out how he does all of that.
