    I checked Windows Update to see what the fuss is about; I wasn't notified of any pending updates.

    "Windows Desktop Search 3.01 for Windows XP (KB917013)" is listed as a Software, Optional update. I just ticked the "f*ck off" box - problem solved.

    If you let Microsoft automatically install updates on your computer without vetting them, don't complain about it installing cruft - and worse.

    As the Glasgow "terrorists" so brilliantly displayed, anybody can be a terrorist. All it takes is a car, a bunch of primitive explosive, flammable material and the motivation to endanger human life.

    A stellar black hole that's so big it shouldn't be possible for it to have been created by the usual supernova, and in a region of space sufficiently vacant to rule out the gobbling theory, is what is being puzzled over.

    The region of space is vacant now - it doesn't mean that it was when the black hole was feeling peckish.
