Call me a luddite, but the most beautiful Final Fantasy game I'd played was FFVI. 3d just wasn't good enough to draw my attention away from the classical FF. But FFX may finally have succeeded and hopefully I'll be able to see the other FF games in a better light, now. The majesty of FFVI will not be forgotten.
Bush uplls out of the ABM treaty with Russia & Co. and now they declassify a project to send the point that they haven't been sitting idly for the last few years. This craft is hardly anything to worry about. As others have said, its uses are limited and it is still detectable by some craft. But it is a sign that the Russian R&D is still going strong. And that's even more scary than anything else, because Russian military tech becomes global tech quicker than nothing. Russia is not likely to just ignore Bush's slap, but they wouldn't dare actually increasing their nuclear armaments so they're probably going to begin a more conventional arms race. And since China has the money, they'll be the sole beneficiaries from this race.
Were binary groups around back then? If so, I'd love to see what kind of stuff was being posted back then. I can understand Google not posting the actual binaries, but couldn't they at least post zero files or some such?
Moron. To harvest fossil fuels fro burning, there is an expenditure of energy. Amazingly enough, when you do something you use energy. Now, your argument should be that the needed expenditure to obtain hydrogen is greater than or equal to the accquired energy. My response would be, nice argument. However, I would then refute that point by arguing that the purpose of this device is not to provide energy for daily purposes, but to offer a clean, cheap long-duration alternative to gasoline generators in emergencies. Furthermore, I would offer for argument the various proposed methods of hydrogen production, particularly one devised by Dr. Melis of Berkeley, wherein modified algae is used to produce hydrogen.
Ummmm, I own an Archos Jukebox, and I can tell you that the "8 hour battery life" they claim is more like 9 or 10... The device also seems to act relatively consistently, with a standard deviation of no more than 1 hour. Perhaps it's time you switched to that second set of batteries they sent with the jukebox. After all, if the batteries are fucked, then you aren't going to get the full potential out of them.
I couldn't tell you about the differences because I still haven't got the bloody thing working. essentially, the disk installs IE6, some broadjump software, and then tries to edit your network settings. Mine fails at this point, as it refuses to acquire an IP via DHCP.
Charter is switching its customers over to Charter Pipeline, their own service. The transition should be pretty painless, but I've been encountering many problems with the CD they sent out. After giving up on the CD, I tried calling up Charter to get the few bits of info I needed to set things up myself. I sat on hold for 2 hours 35 minutes and finally hung up. This was after an hour of redialing, trying to get through the busy signals.
We need to stop producing them "naturally" too. Tubal ligations and vasectomies all around! Have you eliinated your reproductive faculties? If not, then you're rather hypocritical, aren't you?

Little known fact: Anyone can sue for anything. So asking what would bar someone from suing for this is a rather moot question as there is nothing barring anyone from suing for anything. The real question is, what would bar these people from winning such a lawsuit? The answer: jurisprudence. We're safe for a little while, but I hear the Supreme Court is going IPO...
I actually didn't mind Shatner. The audience pissed me off, though. Not only did they make too much noise, detracting from the decorum of Iron Chef, but I swear I saw a "RAW is WAR" sign in the audience.
Thanks for the heads up. I made the mistake of mixing up the school which his father attended with one of the two he went to. And I didn't remember the Dukakis statement. Thanks for some enlightenment.
First, Bush, like many politicians, has attended numerous institutes of education. Starting out at Phillips Academy for prep, going to Yale for undergrad work and finally going to Harvard. Your mistake. My mistake was in blurring the two in my mention of the Skull and Bones organization.
The statement "next year" was a slip in speech on my part, not a slip in knowledge. Had I proofed my statement, and actually cared as much about this forum as you, I'd have caught that.
Finally, I await your showing me the anti-Satanist Sodomites legislation McCain's backed. Just prove it, buddy. I dare ya to refute my assertion that he has never promoted the crackdown on Satan worshipping Sodomites.
You forget that Bush only made it into Harvard because of Papa Bush's intimate ties with the school. Hell, his father was a Skull and Bonesman for gods' sakes. Couple this with his father's position as head of the CIA at the time and you're pretty much guaranteed of getting into Harvard.
And alot of good that business degree did, too. Look up the Bush family financial (mis)dealings online someday. There's more fraud and deceit than just Neal has been party too, I'll tell you. We're talking shell companies, SEC violations and the whole twenty yards.
Of course, I'd have taken John McCain over either one of them, too. I sincerely hope he tries running again next year and that the party doesn't just automatically give the party nomination to Bush. McCain is a very strong politician who is truly Republican. He cares about our rights and he doesn't care whether we're Satan worshipping Sodomites slowly slipping away to Hell.
Yet I can't help but be concerned. I'm one of the few remaining geeks who hasn't purchased a burner for his home computer, and now that this is coming along, I'm tempted to continue waiting for MR. But if there is no intercompatibility between traditional drives and thr MR medium, if any generic CD-ROM can't read an MR disc, then early adopters are going to be limited to archival work while the true beauty of the disk, transit, remains out of reach. I look forward to being able to quickly and conveniently create demo and project discs before I set off for classes.
So. Does anyone know if MR media is expected to be readable by standard CD-ROMs?
Interesting? Haven't you ever read Neal Stephenson or Douglas Adams? You dare call yourself a nerd after having just tried to argue that something which is funny can not be interesting? For shame! A pox upon your house!
The two groups are competitors. That's their sole motivation. Adobe sued Macromedia a while back for their widgeting. Macromedia's going to sue them for this, whatever it may be. The two can't win in the classical, Capitalist method by improving their product and surpassing their enemy so they just sue.
As to your hatred of Macromedia products, I'd have to agree slightly. I dislike the growing trend of using widgets. The problem: Adobe started it! As it is, I use Adobe for Photoshop and Macromedia for everything else.

My favorite game in childhood was a true geek's game. We built stuff using Legos and then flung 1" diameter ball barings from siege-engines. You haven't played with legos until you've spent the afternoon building the Ice Planet Deep Freeze Defender and promptly watched it crumble to pieces as the slug of metal hit it. It's even more fun re-designing it to be more structurally sound.
Remember thermite? That's what they doped it with, esentially. It wasn't raw aluminum but rather Aluminum Oxide. This is where the problem presents itself. The true danger doesn't come so much in particulate metals themselves, though there is a danger there for most, but when a ready source of oxygen is available.
No, his logic is quite good. The more people working in a lab, the higher the background noise. Not only does this create machine error, but it also does cause some people to err. In case you haven't noticed, not everyone can communicate without problems. Some people have considerable trouble listening to a conversation in crowded areas. Then don't forget the people who have trouble thinking in noisy areas. You'd be amazed at the number of people who get distracted by keyboard clicking alone. Just think if those 45 people were talking at once instead of typing. Suddenly the ambient noise goes up 10 fold.

Iwas insinuating a few of them might have major drug problems judging by their voting records. I should be more clear next time.
