If you get rid of IE6 like this, you are forcing people to upgrade also to Win7!!! Remember, there is no Internet Explorer 7 for Win2k, All of us who have stayed away from Win XP and and Vista due to its dumb activation code will have to upgrade to Win7, because Mozilla is not always the answer.
Nobody is forcing you to upgrade to Windows 7, Opera runs mighty fine not only on Win2k but on win9x versions too without a huge memory leak...
You should consider using that instead of some crappy 8 years old browser that doesn't support something essential as PNG transparency.
It's instanely stupid to do this because you have some weird usage pattern? Why should Firefox be made for you specifically, and not for as many people as possible?
If using the space that is available to me and not clunking up the browser with toolbars that I don't need or use is weird to you, then I don't know what isn't. Can you share?
Aza Raskin, the head of user experience at Mozilla Labs, has already blogged on the possibility of moving tabs down the side of the browser, with tabs grouped by the type of activity involved (i.e. applications, work spaces).
Insanely stupid IMO! I personally because I want browser space, totally remove every toolbar - including the tab bar (scroll through them with Ctrl-Tab in Opera) - and now some idiots want to waste more space.
I don't want a 'Safari look' on my browser, I just want it to be functional and work the way I want. What turns me on is the fact that I can open more than 10 tabs freely on a PC with 512 megs of RAM and not be hogged.
Sadly, more and more people turn on to other browsers because of their pimped looks (IE) only later to find out that they're peace of crap in the features included.
Well, this actually isn't an old game (by the definition you gave - old games are games that are more than 12 years old:\ ) but I saw on a forum that it's abandonware because (by the forum poster):
You cannot buy this anywhere in the world
The makers have abandoned the IP (Dungeon Keeper)
The game is over 6 years old
Just Google for 'Dungeon Keeper 2 download' (sans quotes) because I don't want my comment to be removed because of abuse.
So in my opinion if they are abandoned (or they don't have to), the OSS approach works. Look what happened to WarZone2100 which was released in 2004 as open source:)
I think I answered that, because when FF2 gets obsolete in couple of months (yeah, obsolete means many sites turning it down) what will you do? Because upgrades cost money, and switching to another browser costs only the changing of the habits I'd personally choose the second one.
Yes, you have a point there, I can't say you are wrong, but I don't get why wouldn't you give up for something that is newer and works on your older machine (and is supported too) than use what you are used to, but get significantly slower browsing.
I certainly would give up from something that I am used to, to something that works better.
I mean, it's ridiculous: if you like Firefox you should upgrade to the 3rd version and if in any case your OS is older and it doesn't support Firefox 3 I see no reason not to use Opera which supports every OS from Win 95 to Vista and from OS X 10.0 to 10.5 (unlike Firefox 3 of course).
I see no need of using a browser whose support will end soon and with many people not using the latest version people who have popular websites (like Slashdot for an example) can just make the updates in their web pages slower because they'll see that FF2 is still used much and not add the so much wanted features (or they will work very slow in older browsers) because not a lot of people will use them. Yeah, they can say Upgrade to [insert a newer browser name here] but that won't make a lot of people update because they are lazy.
Why are you people so ignorant? Opera has a urlfilter.ini file which is located in your profile dir (most usually ~/.opera on GNU/Linux) which you can edit (and supports wildcards of course) by yourself or you can download a already made one (and constantly updated one too) here and it also includes an element hider which removes the whitespace from the blocked ads (on the same page). Other filters exist too.
If you just Googled "opera adblock" you'd find lots of results. Instead many people here and on Digg too are too ignorant to check the fact that Opera indeed has an adblock and it can be configured.
I mean, I'm not American, I don't know what are the laws in there, but I personally think that first of all Palin was guilty of the thing she used Y! mail to do professional business instead of using another paid provider that would serve her better. Like she couldn't be smart enough to use a provider that does only POP or IMAP mail and locked to her computers IP.
It's stupid to get jail just because you were "smarter" than the guy (woman in this case) whose mail you were cracking. There are worse crimes in the world that get less punished than this one.
It looks good it has really nice features, too bad I can't try it because of my chosen platform 'cause I really want to see all the features it offers (and no it comes in no consideration to install a whole OS just to try a browser). I think Microsoft should at least consider offering IE on other platforms than Windows or maybe support IEs4Linux or Wine with devs or by donations (which is hardly to believe to happen). Microsoft will only have good props from doing that by enabling web-devs to test in other browsers without having to install yet another software to install yet another software.
I installed this and it doesn't work at all for me on Firefox 3.0.1 on Ubuntu, I can fire up Ubiquity but I can't issue any command 'cause for some reason the enter key after typing something doesn't do anything.
No, I didn't sumbit it because I wasn't at home the week when the labs build was released, and its old news if I submitted it when I came back 6 days after that build was released.
You know what works better than being disappointed? Adding it to the wikipedia article. It's Wikipedia... you can edit it.
I am terribly sorry for not expressing as I should have when I was writing that comment, I was reffering to the Wikimedia people - which are pushing Firefox through their mailing list, when I was talking about Wikipedia.
But, as always, it didn't got[sic] the respectable place in/.'s front page.
I am sorry for my bad grammar as I am not from the US and English is not my primary language.

Why don't you just simply use Grooveshark?
It's really simple, available for every country and most importantly *free for all*
Oh, and.. don't tell the RIAA about the site, okay? :)
You're not alone my son.
You're not alone...
Mod parent up! That picture is awesome!

Everytime they click a link in an email program it opens another tab.
And if tab browsing is off, they'll have a cluttered workspace because every link will open in a new window.
Think of the big picture :)

Huh?
Shining Force for one is a terribly old Sega Genesis game and it's still very playable and interesting.
The quality of the graphics isn't all to some people. Gameplay comes to mind more to some gamers than graphics.
Those can get this game, and others can play Crysis or whatever game that demands a lot of processing power just to display some "shining" effects ;)
I accidentally downloaded Vista
I too accidentally booted into a Ubuntu live CD and wiped Windows. I don't know how, but I was using it for a day...

Wait wait wait wait....
IE never locked up on me,...
Let me read that again... ..
You use frackin Internet Explorer to surf the web???
Bravo sir. Bravo.
Go ahead and try.
I mean, I'm not American, I don't know what are the laws in there, but I personally think that first of all Palin was guilty of the thing she used Y! mail to do professional business instead of using another paid provider that would serve her better. That's all I can say on this subject.
Well thank you sir for the best laugh I had on Slashdot for a while :D

They won't be able to buy Apple's DRM protected music. Boo hoo Apple.
I have karma to burn so I'll ask - who the hell thinks this is newsworthy?
Me not.
Get a free cookie. Visit Google!
'cause Microsoft still gets the $$$, no matter what OS sells more...
Did you submit it?
No, I didn't sumbit it because I wasn't at home the week when the labs build was released, and its old news if I submitted it when I came back 6 days after that build was released.
