    How would you phrase it then? "Value placed on the scientific method" would be what I'd go for, but it doesn't communicate the thought nearly as succinctly as "belief in science"

    Believe it or not, some people do still buy and play board games. You almost always have to go to a solid game shop to get decent ones, but they exist.

    I played the game and enjoyed it, but found the gameplay dragged badly once your weapons and powers outmatched your enemies.

    A tasty quote from that article seems to confirm what others are posting about the difficulty being....missing.

    I'm all for being a social animal, but every now and then I like to retreat to my own private world and enjoy a game crafted around the single player experience.

    QFT. Having a weekend long D&D session is a hell of a lot of fun, but sometimes you just want to be alone with your thoughts and a huge fire-breathing dragon.

    If they're so locked down that the students can't do what they want with them, then no, they won't. They will just teach the students to accept spoon-fed information and not to try to investigate anything for themselves.

    But some will investigate anyway, leading to "If it weren't for those pesky kids...!" syndrome.

    AppLocker WILL make it more difficult to run unauthorised apps, even if they're distributed/run via USB. It won't block things entirely but just like every security measure, it will make things more difficult, and that's all you should be able to expect. Give Microsoft some credit - I'd love to get a hold of one of these netbooks.

    Credit for what? A false sense of security? AppLocker is next to useless. In reality, it can be easily bypassed. In addition to the fact (as pointed out so many times) that you can always install another OS and/or hack the BIOS.

    And so what if it has no CD drive? See here.

    I know that, I have many things that depend on it too. But they could have made IE8 with a new engine, and then left IE6 on there for the old stuff.

    WebKit covers that mate. Those are things you do ON THE WEB PAGE. All the browser does is render the page. Flash or a MP plugin are part of that page, and separate from the browser.
