Laser surgery is only for those who are near sighted and bifocal contact lenses still arn't the greatest( I don't even know if there is such a thing as trifocal contacts )
Compaq 6 Gig Personal MP3 Jukebox $700+
NOMAD Jukebox 6 Gig $500
Doesn't seem too bad to me.
Was $250 supposed to be the HD price? You know you don't have to put 80 gigs in.
The guys in yesterday's story wern't the ones being "shafted". They said we've beening running this study of google and we happened to notice a trend that seems pretty fishy. The study was never done to prove that anyone was being shafted. Although your right that talking to google would have been the right thing to do you really should get your facts straight before calling anyone else a moron
Opening the protocal would make it so Bob could use ICQ, Frank could use Yahoo, and Sally could use AIM without worrying about what IM anyone else used. With an open protocal everyone could talk to everyone regardless of their client.
ps Your wrong about AIM being the better IM
Someone I know bought a Napster t-shirt just to wear to a metallica concert. He was expecting a bunch of shit but all he got was a lot of "Why do I get a lot of downloads that won't finish"
I don't think he's objecting to the fact it doesn't include a mail client but to the fact that the reviewer suggests installing netscape to view your mail.
Using a game engine to create a comedy movie seems pretty damn creative to me. Did you even read the article or did just see the quake symbol and post?
It isn't the Mozilla team would be working on this but a seperate group of people who have no connection to AOL. One of the goals of Mozilla is to be an appliction framework so that other people can do projects such as this.
After thinking about it a bit this could actually be helpfull to Mozilla's developement because as more people decide to code within the Mozilla framework they might slowly migrate to coding Mozilla itself. Someone might not give a damn about Mozilla the browser but if their app encounters a bug in Mozilla they might try to fix it.
Everone always likes to say that it's the music industries fault that people are pirating music over the internet. We say that if they sold stuff digitally at reasonable price people would buy it. However people are always asking about how to get around the EULA of free beer software or trying to get around the login of free services such as the New York Times. If you want the product agree to their terms, otherwise it's stealing. If we'll steal something that's "free" I don't think there is any doubt that selling music online would do anything about piracy
I don't get it... a pixel can't be at x=5 and x=500 at the same time but that is still a dimension
When posting Slashdot should remind you if you've moderated a story and will be undoing your moderation.
No more cables!! Buying a linksys access point and nic card might even still fit in the less than a PS2 category
I would rather have late news than no news.
Does more rapid patches mean more to fix? =)
Although I'd agree about UT being the better game
If the show is good enough for Bill Nye it's good enough for me.
Depends on the SUV if you've got a Ford Expedition you'll probably want something a little bit bigger.

That would make for some really interesting cable runs when you drive to work

Thankfully most people here at RPI have some musical taste as a search of shares on celery only turned up 83 megs of metallica mp3s
Hey at least we're busy trying to kill each other and not the outside world.
AMD has that funky 200mhz fsb that doesn't overclock well though.
Well the fact that they switch between kiloBytes and kbs is a pretty good indication they don't know the tech so I'd go with kilobits
heck of a lot cheaper to pick up a CueCat at the shack and not use their software.

Nice job of not using the full quote. Are you in politics or marketing by any chance?
I'm voting for the inanimate carbon rod

Maybe it's because I'm an idiot but I dont' understand how using a packet sniffer is going to cause me to stop downloading stuff.
