I realize there's a bit of sarcasm in your post, but I think you actually hit on a real issue. Unless you have a solid group of friends who all enjoy playing and have/will for years, you end up loosing players and picking up new ones in your playgroup. These new players often times haven't played at all before and don't have all those old rulebooks. They can borrow/share for a while, but eventually you end up with a critical mass of players who don't have a 2nd/3rd/3.5th PHB and your group is forced to upgrade.
I don't own a Wii, but I have played it a few times, including WiiSports. It seems to me that the mote isn't nearly responsive enough for a fencing-style of combat. It seems much better at large, exaggerated swings than quick thrust and parry.
True, pirates don't connect to a tracker to observe, but the point being made is that an entity that was only observing (not doing anything illegal or warranting a takedown notice) is being pinned as a pirate. First off, I totally agree with what you're saying. Someone who was totally innocent got accused of doing something wrong, and that shouldn't happen.
However, this is what court cases are for. They determine if you were actually doing something illegal, or if you were just an innocent bystander.
Actually getting arrested/sued doesn't require a massive amount of evidence, nor should we really expect that. Imagine a warehouse full of drug dealers dealing their drugs. You're there, but neither selling nor buying drugs, just watching it all. If the place gets raided, you certainly wouldn't be shocked if you were arrested along with everyone else.
I used to play WC3 with a guy who only had one arm. I still don't know how he managed to control the mouse and keyboard so effectively, but he was whooped my ass regularly.
Facebook is great for keeping up to date on all those people from your past that you care enough to know what they're up to, but not enough to actually talk to them. High school classmates, ex-girlfriends, etc.
It's the new equivalent of "Hey, did you hear x got married?"
Most of your complaints sound valid.
I had a job interview with Dell and the manager was well aware in advance of my resume. I was put through the standard interview process where someone decided that my resume didn't fit the skill set required (Duh the manager knew that.) Yeah, this is how interviews work. Your resume needs to be good enough to get you in the door, then you need to sell your skills to the personnel manager. If you don't do that well enough, they give you some bogus/generic reason and send you home.
There are federal whistle blower laws, and they do apply to the private sector.
However, I believe most of them are for protecting an individual from criminal prosecution, not keeping your job.
And, I believe there are certain channels in the government you have to go through in order for these to apply. Posting in an online forum is most possibly not protected.
I disagree. The douchebags that play GH become mega-douchbags that think they can play guitar. Normal people that play this realize its a game and don't become douchbags.
Yes, space is big and light takes a long time to get to us. By 'real time', they mean they are watching the photons coming from the actual death of the star, and not the photons coming from the debris from years and years later.
Ah, this is good news. I had no idea what the hell this game was and was worried I am no longer "with it". I'm glad to know this is just some crappy unpopular game I can comfortably ignore.
That's actually caused by the fact that its used in Aerospace applications. The testing/qualification process to get a part into operation takes 4-5 years minimum, and usually more like a decade. If they forecast this being in use in 4 years, then its got to be pretty much ready for full scale testing now.
Unfortunately, this wouldn't have much of an impact on macro-scale damage. Its much more useful for those tiny microscopic cracks that can grow and lead to a failure. Much like when you slice your finger as opposed to cutting the entire hand off.
"A key benefit would be that aircraft designs including more FRP composites would be significantly lighter than the primarily aluminium-based models currently in service."
Don't forget that with every major patch to the game, you'll have to go out and buy a new user's manual that tells you how to operate your character in the new rules.
But, there's a bit of a leap when you go from laying down the theory to turning it into consumer products. And, that leap usually requires a large corporate/government R&D program with huge budgets and teams of people from a wide range of disciplines.
One or two "Einstein"s are not going to be able to take an idea from pure conceptualization all the way to an end product where the wealth return really happens. S Africa, unfortunately, doesn't have that large corporate or government infrastructure to achieve this.
Unfortunately, theoretical physics is not very practical and therefore does not create much wealth.
Additionally, any students this program does identify will most likely leave the country as South Africa is not known for their research centers/universities. It seems like this is more of a way for bright students to escape an impoverished area rather than an actual benefit to the area itself.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this require a specialized video card as well as software that's intended to make use of peripheral vision. If you don't have these things, it seems like they're just taking parts of the screen that would normally be inside your field of vision and moving it to the edges. The end result looks like you'd just have to turn your head to see what you'd normally be able to anyway.
Actually, a good portion of Europe is in population decline even including immigration. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population_growth_rate
Germany, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Romania, Russia, etc are all in decline. However, most of these other than Germany would be considered Eastern Europe.

You can make your own now, just strap a bunch of LEDs to a Wiimote and run around hitting people.

Don't think of it as anti-hydrogen hitting helium. Think of it as an anti-proton hitting a proton that just happens to have another proton nearby.
So, you end up with a bunch of energy and a left over proton (Hydrogen).
And, no, anti-particles only annihilate their partner particles, not just any particle.
Then you either need to organize your quests better as to group all the traveling together, or simply skip those quests.
And, if you don't like being ganked, then play on a PvE server.

Less than 2 weeks ago, we had an article for an upcoming patch for this game and the overwhelming consensus was "who cares?"
This seems like more of a ad than news.

Of course, I'm no expert on this.

If they just create servers located in Australia and give people the option of what server to play on, this would be a perfect move.
If, however, they force people to play on a specific regional server based on their location, you're right, this is a terrible idea.
But, of course, there's always the option of buying/registering your account from a different region and just ignoring what they want you to do.

Not just that, but the term "Space Lawyer" seems rather lame, like he's in charge of a big warehouse or something.
"Interstellar Lawyer" or "Galactic Lawyer" or something like that seems a much better job title.
