2nd amendment? I think you need to read up about Texas. They are NOT the 2nd amendment friendly state everyone thinks they are, an example is if you even show the FAINT OUTLINE of a concealed firearm you can be arrested, loose your carry permit, and go to jail. Do not even mention open carry of a firearm or you will get hassled badly by law enforcement. However if you go to just about any of the surrounding states they don't care so much about carrying a firearm. Texas is set up to keep the "undesirables" in their place, and keep the "right" people in power.
Cite please. I happen to know a gunsmith and an attorney who will gladly argue with you on this. You can build your own gun out of any material as long as YOU are the person it is being built for, and it is not being built with the intent of resale. I don't even know where you get the crossing a state line from, that is NOWHERE in any law I have found. The only thing I see about crossing state lines is if you have a Title II machine gun/destructive device you have to have a signed permission slip, or if you are selling to a resident of a different state you need to go through an FFL in the buyers state of residence.
Do you realize that some biker dudes consider jail time to be a badge of honor? Or that they just plain don't give a care about going to jail because they know that they will be out in a couple of years?
I thought not.
You sir have properly executed a mastery of "diplomat speak." I would have modded you Funny but you are already at +5 Funny and my mod points just expired. You really are a Spaceball, you know that, right?
I am a conservative but would have voted to put you as informative should you have posted under your own name. but as you are AC I will put a response.
When I worked in the ATM industry we already had that feature built into the keypad (EPP). If you tried to extract the keys any number of ways (freeze spray, remove back cover, cut front cover, etc.) it would dump the memory and leave the attacker with nothing. All you have to do is contact one of the companies that built those EPP's and they can guide you into a LOW COST hardware method of dumping everything. You don't need to go with a fancy "custom coating" that might fail or have alternative issues. I would not buy this phone as it is over-priced, and I can do the same thing with a common android smartphone and a little software and hardware tweaking. Epoxy is your friend for keeping people out of things they don't need to see, as is encryption with delete upon failure to decrypt. What a joke, but they will sell a bunch of them to Gov. and "special" people.
It must be as hard as making a decent forum/website for nerds, involving news for nerds and stuff that matters. But I guess with the departure of Taco and the rise of Timmy we have the FAIL known as BETA.
FUCK BETA
I would love to have a diesel-electric truck, I am going through the process of putting a re-manufactured motor in my F-150 right now as the prices for used trucks is crazy expensive. I found a newer model truck with much higher mileage going for more than 4 times what my truck is worth, so it makes sense to replace the motor in mine. The diesel-electric would give me the range and power I want/need to pull my small trailer and be RELIABLE under all situations. I don't think the world is quite ready for an all electric pick up truck, the rednecks and wanna-be's will pitch a fit and not purchase them.
This almost sounds like my previous employer. The software group had version control, but the electrical and mechanical group did not get anything until right before I was laid-off. It was fun being the department librarian and having to keep track of random files that the only real difference was the date stamp. I finally got the electrical group under control, the mechanical group had a completely different system that would ONLY interface with Solidworks, the software group used one of the microsoft version control systems, and we in the electrical group used SVN. What a fun challenge to maintain and organize. Thankfully I don't have to deal with that anymore, our files at my current employer are nothing more than word documents that ANYONE can modify. I have tried to get them to learn about version control but telling a large defense contractor about something simple like SVN is a lost cause.
Because that is what rich, snooty wine snobs prefer. How else would they know good wine, it is not like they could actually read the wine list and recognize a wine that has been packaged in a nitrogen purged, sealed container and know that it is a good wine. I will state for the record I do know that you can store and seal wine in a bag/box and it taste just as good as a corked bottle. I have also found that the price of a bottle of wine means almost nothing in relation to how it tastes, my personal favorites are rather cheap compared to the more expensive varieties.
You joke about that but the county next to mine just had the sheriff arrested for that very thing. He would find his opponents or others who made him angry, arrest them for child porn, plant the child porn, and then splash their name all over the news to ruin their reputation. He finally got caught when he arrested the wrong person. This guy called the FBI and the County District Attorney, who both pressed charges against him. I think the total charge count is around 30 felony counts of evidence tampering, witness tampering, intimidation, and other corruption issues. This stuff is too good to be made up sometimes.
Same thing we did back home. It took longer for me to sign the voter registry than it did to vote. When I moved to my present state we use those Diebold machines, and it is such a joke with how they are put together.
I must be one of the lucky few people in the U.S. then. I have two doctors who actually cared enough to get to know me as a person and realize why I have the problems that I have. One of those doctors is my E.N.T. He spent a lot of time and energy clearing up a chronic ear infection and has helped me with some other issues related to my health.
The other "doctor" is a nurse practitioner who performed a yearly physical and found that I had a HORRIBLY under-active thyroid that lead to me gaining 30 pounds in just over 4 months. I have spent most of the past year on medication, adjusting the dosage to be correct for my needs. I figure between that and my joining a crossfit gym (if you need to know what it is use some Google fu) I will be loosing most of the weight I have gained. I had a coworker state that I am "unhealthy" because of my weight, yet this same person eats Chinese take out crap 6 days a week, and the other day he eats McDonald/taco bell/fast food and sees nothing wrong with this. He also thinks because he is thin he is in good shape.
I have also seen some people who are rail thin, but have an astonishing high problem with diabetes, arthritis, high body fat percentage, and other issues. Yet the doctors tend to take one look at them and say oh you are perfect because you fit the model of health we are taught by the school/government. I have a friend who is overweight, and she knows it. She realizes she has a problem and is working on fixing it with medication, diet, exercise, and a support group. She has a medical condition that was found by a doctor, AFTER she demanded the appropriate tests. Her nutritionist and doctor spent a lot of time going round and round with the results from the test, the doctor did not believe it and thought that diet/exercise was the only reason for the problem. The nutritionist realized that it was a metabolism issue and that it would take some medication in addition to the normal move more, eat less regimen. She physically could not get appropriate nutrition from food, and that lead to eating more to get the required nutrition. This cycle lead to a bunch of other issues, the least of which being weight gain.
The medical industry in the U.S. is BROKEN and requires a complete reboot. I have a friend who went to college and graduated with two undergrad degrees and had NO debt. This friend then went to medical school and racked up over three hundred thousand dollars in debt due to tuition, fees and expenses. This is after fighting to get a slot in med. school due to the AMA setting up a limit to how many slots can be made in a given year. He will now be spending the REST OF HIS LIFE paying off student loans from medical school. This same "education" taught outdated skills and minimized critical thinking outside of the industry standards. Thankfully he had an amazing bit of training from his grandparents who were doctors in another country, and knows how to fix things without resorting to over-used, over-priced medications. And he knows what it means to be unconsciously biased against as he is an openly gay man.
YOU are one of the few people I have ever met who understands me then. I am the same way when learning and thinking, and this plagued me all through school (kindergarten through university level courses). I finally learned 2 years ago that I have Aspergers, and after a BUNCH of reading, and implementing what I have learned I can handle dealing with normal people. I still do have stress days, and I have to handle it. This week was one of the worst I have had in a LONG time, due to U.S. Government bureaucracy. We are having the buzz-words: CI, Root-Cause, Fishbone, and Green belt/Black belt thrown around to save money, yet they will not listen to simple, effective solutions as they are not sufficiently complex.
My kingdom for mod points. I had them every day for a week and a half and now nothing.
