I'm on the Beta too, and I have 1 problem with FF that I can't seem to solve. I use Instructables.com site a lot and it doesn't render correctly. The page is squeezed in to the middle and appears about half size. The only reason I'm using Chrome is because I don't have that problem with that site. Hints to solve problem would be appreciated
The problem lies in the fact that the American Public always tries to blame a thing, not themselves, when a problem arises. Some kids have a gun spree and shoot up their school? The problem must be those violent video games they play. Couldn't possibly be because of a lack of parental guidance, or because teachers, guidance counselors, peers, didn't give a rats arse about them or their problems. Too many traffic accidents? Lets not bother to teach driving the right way, too much trouble. Lets just lower the speed limit to 55 MPH, because, speed kills, doesn't it? How about the SOPA Bill? Censor the internet to protect our (fill in the blanks) because we have to protect our citizens, if China can do it, why can't we? The hell with the fact that they're a Communist country, under a totalitarian regime. Etc.,etc., ad infinitum ad nauseam.

For a long time I have wondered why we don't just use massive helium balloons to carry rockets much closer to space. Even if the balloon only gets a quarter of the way to orbit, it gets through the thickest air before the rocket fires.
Unless helium is more expensive than rocket fuel, but helium can be collected from alpha decay right, so it seems like it would be cheaper.
Even if it isn't feasible for big payloads, there are several high class hobbyist rockets out there that can reach 100k feet. Why not ride a balloon up to 70-80k, and then launch the rocket?
We don't use helium balloons for a couple of reasons, it's getting expensive, and also because there's a shortage of it .
There's very little wrong with the Kindle fire that can't be fixed with software.
Providing, of course, that they want to fix it. Both I and my wife have a Kindle 3 , and it's fine at what it does, but except for its form factor, the Fire isn't really a tablet. They're just calling it that because of the buzzword factor
Another "iPad killer" in the dustbin. You are not going to compete with Apple with some cobbled together piece of junk
Fire = $199 is a "cobbled together" piece of junk only because the goodness of the OS has been hobbled by Amazon so that you're tied to Amazon for all your shopping needs, much like the much more expensive iPad ties you to Apple. The day is coming, very soon I might add, that a $100 Ice Cream Sandwich may show them all who's boss.
Just wait until January for some ice cream sandwiches.

PCMIA ? Didn't that die out with the passenger pigeon?
Or download Youtube videos anymore, whereas FF still allows it.
At least the magnets are safer than the Happy Fun Ball (tm)
+1 , but then again, you're just an AC
The US uses steam catapults, which are even better but are more expensive and are fairly involved to design.
Beulah the buzzer says "Sorry, wrong answer", should have been "Used to use steam catapults", Now they're using EMALS
Time for Luddites to move to Zimbabwe?
If you don't like IE, you're a "Luddite"? How very droll.

The moon? Well China will most likely be there by the time everyone else is ready.
Well, at least we'll have someplace decent to eat, won't we?
I suppose it's better than yachting.
But then again, what isn't?
Should be 5 Informative (as in understanding things others don't) not "interesting".

The real crime here might be the tanking of his retirement funds and IRA which is probably why he went into business for himself

It isn't about "softening the blow" or anything to those lines. Microsoft has just seen that open source really cannot compete with quality products.
