Work on two computers at the same time, and have them be not near each other. While a command runs on the one, run to the other and do stuff there, and vice versa.
Been there, done that, but not because for the exercise.
17,000 miles per hour, I guess that's something like 30,000 km/h? That seems pretty fast to me. How much fuel did that consume, and how did they provide it with fuel for a whole year?
Sure it's possible to have a Net Zero datacenter: Just use unary coding instead of binary, with 0 as the unary digit.
For example, by binary number 101 would become as 00000.
See? As a result, all the bits will be zero. Net zero. That means the data will weigh less, and it's good for the environment! A win for everyone.

Erm, ok, I mean, since when are geeks "grilling" stuff, unless it's a geek who has their interest in grilling of course. But I'm very sure that in that case, it wouldn't involve an iPhone app.
Well, the guy in the picture of the article seems to have a nice happy family with children so...:p
However, the whole article is not even remotely geeky.

Since when are geeks "grilling" stuff? I though geeks were busy visualizing mathematical functions and solving crypto problems on their trusty old desktop computers that have hundreds of wires coming out of the back, or solving their 8x8x8 rubik's cube.
To be honest, the photo of it reminds me more of a very common arrangment in which 5 spherical objects can be laid out. There's almost nothing about it that reminds me of the olympic rings. The colors aren't there, the rings don't overlap, and the circles look more like hexagons.
Basically, it just looks like some molecule to me...
This does show that MS really wants developers to make Metro apps instead of regular Windows apps. They provide a free tool for Metro app makers, no longer for regular software.
What I wonder is:
Why? Why does MS prefer Metro apps over desktop apps? MS has always been selling a desktop OS as their core business, why do they want desktop apps to die out in favor of restricted, controlled apps now?

The rust is annoying though... Because they're compressing 4 wavelengths into 3 wavelengths. An image with only the RGB would look nicer. They could store the 4th IR channel as alpha channel...
It is pretty nerdy, and interesting!
Well, why don't you try it then? Play until the year 4000 and tell how your civilization is doing!
In 2013 the iPhone 6 will be released, and in 2014 the iPhone 7.
Does the gravity field of your mom also affect this sensitive apparatus?

It's an *Anonymous* Coward on Slashdot, so you cannot possibly know who he or she is, and what their looks are.

Oh, looks like I missed the "SPACE plane" part in the article description. I was thinking about flying through air.

Oh no! If that happens, my productivity will go down! I'll be playing games suddenly!
If it can translate every game and movie on e.g. Newgrounds, and be playable, then it's awesome!
Where fancy cooling devices are rare, but ones sending wireless cellphone signals aren't fancy I guess...
I read a book once, it was about UFO's, ancient Chinese flying carts, and an ancient nuclear war. Maybe that is it!
So Ivy Bridge can do something after all! :D

Yeah, people are just scared of the Technological Singularity!
For one moment there, I read "Comic Sans" instead of "Comic Chat".
Because you can do everything with the command line. Keyboard text input. Spoken text output.
