Sounds just like eDonkey, which has a slew of open source free clients for every OS. Furthermore, eDonkey has been around for years and has tons of content! eXeem is nothing more than a leech on Bittorrent's fame.
Just because it uses an API also used by some BitTorrent implementations means nothing. The protocols are incompatible and eXeem's protocol is closed. If two applications use STL, does that make them related? No it does not. The same applies to eXeem: yet another fame leech.
eXeem is NOT related to Bittorrent in any way. It does not use the Bittorrent protocol nor an extension of it. It is yet another P2P application/network that is trying to captilize on an already popular application/network/protocol. Considering that it is closed source, Windows only, spyware stricken, and leeching off of Bittorrent's popularity, it would be wise to boycott eXeem.
If you want to use a P2P application that combines the swarming of Bittorrent with distributed indexing, searching, and tracking, try one of the eDonkey apps such as aMule, eMule, eDonkey2000, etc. Many of them are open source, spyware free, and run on multiple platforms. Since the eDonkey network has been around for a long time, it is filled with a variety of content. However, Bittorrent is still the fastest P2P protocol for raw data transfer, so don't drop it, just find a few good torrent sites.
If you want an inexpensive set top box for playing DVDs, Xvids, Mp3s, and even games, you are better off getting an Xbox for $99 to $150 and doing a software hack on it (no mod chip needed). Then run Xbox Media Center, which is free and open software. The Mac has no equivalent to XBMC. You can use a remote control to easily browse movies and music that you are sharing and streaming over home's wifi network, and it also supports web radio!
With the Mac Mini you will pay nearly 5 times as much money, and then you will have to find a piece of software that is similar to XBMC. Considering that XBMC is based on mplayer, there is a chance that it could be ported to the Mac... but why wait? Save yourself some money and hack an Xbox.
Of course, if you want to do something other than set top movies, music, and games... choose something other than an Xbox. You know, its all about the right tool for the right job. Don't kid yourself, the Xbox is the king of set top boxes, assuming you hack it, of course:)
Do not believe these lies! They go against the Word. Evolution and other scientific theories are not facts and nothing more than the lies of Satan! Truth can only be found through Jesus Christ and the Word.
Sounds like official Nintendo propaganda. The game industry tanked because of good ol' supply and demand. They simply supplied too much, while the demand couldn't match. Furthermore, as the computing power of the systems improve, so do video game sales. The NES could simply do far better graphics and sound than the 2600, which also helped sell more games and game systems.
If open development really was a problem, then why haven't we ever seen the same problem with PC games? There was never a PC game crash.
In conclusion, your post is nothing more than official Nintendo propaganda rehashed.
I was in Paris during the holidays, but I never got a chance to go see the exhibit. I am so pissed at myself! I saw posters for it everywhere around the city. I was under the impression that there has been a long standing history between Japanese and French animation. Does anybody know any more details on the connection? Is it true that the French invented anime (i.e. the style) and out sourced work to the Japanese, who quickly adopted the art form and improved and expanded upon it?
Yeah, the movement physics in Quake and especially Quakeworld are wonderful! They are no where near realistic, but that isn't the point, they are very fun. You can do all sorts of movement tricks, to gain speed or help dodge things. It adds an element to the game that is missing from other FPS games. The most dedicated group TF players are the Quakeworld TeamFortress players. They have been playing TF longer than anybody else.
Take a look at some of their frag/trick videos. Great stunts, great frags, and the graphics are somewhat improved due to modern Quakeworld clients such as Fuhquake and ezQuake.
Actually, the original Quake would be that platform as it runs on old and new hardware, PCs, Macs, Linux, Solaris, Xbox, etc... You also get to play the real Team Fortress, as opposed to some clone.
The problem with "falsifiable" as a litmus test for what is and what isn't science is that mathematical theories are not falsifiable. They are constructed to be true a priori. So basic arithmetic, for example, is not falsifiable. It is true by definition. However, basic arithmetic is used everywhere in science. Similarly for classical propositional logic: unfalsifiable by definition.
The formally stated difference between science and mythology is more subtle than you would think.
What I think is funny is that there are educated people who think that there is such a thing as "the Calculus". "Calculus" literally means a formal system for mathematical reasoning. There is integral differential calculus, as well as various logical calculi such as Gentzen's sequent calculi, and there are calculi for algorithms too, such as the lambda-calculi, etc.
Talking to some people, you get the impression that mathematics is something that was set in stone a few hundreds of years ago, and that mathematics is solely about numbers. This helps explain the completely broken public school curriculum for mathematics, which holds integral differential (in your case "the") calculus as the zenith of mathematics... forcing everybody down the same educational path, at the expense of other branches of mathematical education.
There are basically two different definitions of "theory" involved in this debate. The plebeian meaning of "theory" is "a vague idea", while the scientific meaning of "theory" is much stronger on the scale between "fact" and "fiction", leaning closer towards fact than the plebeian definition, which sits very close to fiction. It is even more enlightening to compare these two definitions of "theory" to the meaning used in mathematics, where a mathematical theory is absolutely fact and absolutely true.
These stickers are a tool of creationist, who intend to confuse the difference between the multiple meanings of the word "theory". It is definitely a violation of church and state, and a sick example of how religion can be used to set back scientific progress and education.
FCEUX is a port of FCE Ultra that runs on the Xbox. It is quite nice, but you can't use original NES controllers and the resolution differences cause aliasing and/or bluring even with the best video settings.
An even better method of playing downloaded NES and Famicom ROMs is a new console being developed by Kevin Horton, which is cycle perfect. While most NES emulators do an OK job of emulating popular NES games, they are not perfect. Kevin's console will be perfect down to the last CPU cycle, as he is recreating the circuitry of a real NES and the associated cartridges using an FPGA. The system will even be able to use NES and Famicom peripherials, such as the game controllers, R.O.B. the Robot, and even the imfamous Power Glove!
It will be able to be hooked up to a TV or computer CRT, and you can load ROMs off of standard SD flash memory cards, so the entire console is solid state, just like the original NES. Most modern emulators run on PCs or consoles that use fans and CD drives, which are noisy and take away from the NES experience.
Note with the link that the URLs used in the thread might have to be copy-pasted to a new browser because the linked to server doesn't like people directly linking to images.
It is not for sale yet, but if you are a serious NES or Famicom fan, keep this one on your future gift list. Also pick up some NES controllers, lightgun, etc off of Ebay, so that you can use them with the console once it is released.
I bought MechAssault (used for $15) and an Action Replay ($20), which lets me connect an Xbox save card to a PC via USB. I have then hacked over 7 Xbox's of friends and family by lending these things to them.
Once hacked, you no longer need these parts, especially if you do one of the latest Dashboard exploits, like UDE. The hack is as good as a mod-chip, except it is allot easier to install and remove, unlike mod-chips which require you to rip apart your Xbox.
It is called an Xbox, and it costs 150 US dollars new. You can do a software mod for free, which lets you install a piece of free and open source software known as Xbox Media Center, which will let you play all of your music and movies... you can even stream them from network attached storage.
The Xbox is going to drop to $99 soon. So you could pay 5 times as much for Apple's hardware, or you could hack out a solution at $99.
I think that I will wait to buy a next-gen handheld such as the Sony PSP or the Nintendo DS. The GBA is inexpensive, has tons of games, and just plain gets the job done.
What do you mean it was a true original remake? GTA3 was the same as the first part of the original GTA. In fact, they just split the original GTA into GTA3:LC, GTA3:VC, and GTA3:SA. GTA3:LC improved the graphics and sound, but removed multiplayer, motorcycles, Vice City, and San Andreas. Many of the missions were the same! The open-endedness, etc...
I just don't understand why people thought GTA3 was so original when it was not original at all and just the same thing improved. Maybe the technology caught up with the game... I don't know... but they have been selling the same exact game since the original GTA... and I am ok with that.
Which GTA are you talking about being the same game for the third time? "GTA3", which is truely the same game for the third time or "GTA3: San Andreas"? Go play the original GTA and compare it to GTA3 with the camera angle set to bird's eye view. Not to say that I mind that they have refined their game. I have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) each entry in the GTA series since 1998. They got no love when they released GTA. Then they continued to release the same game, but with improvements... finally with GTA3 they got the recognition they deserved.
I forgot to say that I demo'ed the N64 NES-on-a-chip device at my local mall, and to anybody that has played a real NES... even if they haven't done so in over a decade... should be able to tell how horribly inaccurate the audio recreation is on that device. Sure the NES had a very primitive audio processing unit, but those cheap clones make it even worse!

What kind of sick parents do you have? Everyone knows that a good consumer feeds their babies commercial brand formula food.

Just in case you are interested in something better.

Ok then, take the GBC and GBA ports of the GTA series. It is going to be more an issue of the quality of graphics than the gameplay.
The original GTA ran on the PS1, and it had large environments free to exploration.
Too bad emulation sucks and is very inaccurate and buggy. Nothing is better than the real thing.
Why don't you also quote the bit-width of the DS CPU, so that you can justify to yourself how the DS is superior to the GBA.
I think that I will wait to buy a next-gen handheld such as the Sony PSP or the Nintendo DS. The GBA is inexpensive, has tons of games, and just plain gets the job done.
