Thats like telling a vender not to sell to his most reliable customer. No one is their right mind will turn down federal money. What are some of the other uses for satellite imagary weather maps, alta surveys, and other either gov funded or non profit studies.
I have a client who recently consulted with me regarding buying a lap top which would serve as data analysis machine for his dragster. He had the same dilima, all his hardware linked up via serial. I convinved him to upgrade his hardware to USB compatible devices. He was also quite pleased when he found some hardware which actually connected via WiFi. Moral of the story is dont just update your laptop, but all your hardware.
These days Doctors do need to surf the web. WebMD for example is a huge resource for doctors to cross reference info. No offence but I would like to know my Doc is in the know and up to date with current treatments, and statistics instead of waiting for the latest issue of the new england journal of medicine. not only that with many patient databases going into huge centralized databases (yes this is a good thing) they need to access this.
probable two years ago I spoke with a friend who worked at verizon who told me verizon is planning to impliment what was then thier $30 a month DSL package. I've since signed up for thier total package which basically gives me DSL for $28 a month. my LD and local is very competitive the service is excellent. Now this monopoly or not Verizon has really been doing quite a bit to fuel broad band use. I for one appload them, neither earthlink Covad or anyone else comes close.
personally I'm waiting for them to role out local ld, dsl, and digital TV over Fiber and give me a rate cheaper than what i'm paying charter cable. brig it on.
The first things that come to mind with this is getting rid of bi products. Initially when I saw this I thought they meant methane. Ala some type of waste, the right bacteria, and viala gobs and gobs of methane. For how onwers who have their own septic pits I dont see why this isn't viable. In addition many existing fleet vehicles are already configured to run on methane.
there are a couple links below. http://www.viacorp.com/bio-gas.html
I bought an electrolux perhaps 6 years ago, it still works liek brand new today. My aunt however has bought about 5 vacumes varying from hoover, to the wind tunnel thing paying an average of $200 a pop. I'm not saying this is the reason it costs so much but those things are built like world war two battle ships.
you make a point, a good example is super smash bro's malee(sp) simple stupid when you think about it but so much fun. do think it's not what we think but our geeneration. As a child I was a gamer holick archade atari, SNES I would have easily let my life drain away if my dad didnt' step in. Now i'm a dad and I can't understand the addiction my son has even though I myself was addicted.I think the problem has to do with game costs. Kids who are the main players simple cant' afford $50 a pop games. anything below $50 ist' worth it. I remember buying solaris for atari for somethign like $11 dollars which was my allowance
I really wish i had a reference, but way before the passatt or even audi was, there was a renowned engine designer who worked with bugatti to develope there w16, engines. I think he has a record for No. of pistons which he set with a marine engines. i'll have to google it.

Wankel engines in the past have had dependability issues. In a aeronautical sense this isn't too appealing. The old Wankel had serios issues with fuel concumption, and wearing of the plugs, and combution linings. This engine in the Wankel rx-8 is supposed to solve most if not all of these problems. so perhaps now it will be a viable alternative.
Bugatti has been renowned not only as a sports car, but a luxury sports car. It's asking the question what is the absolute best I can buy. where in ferrari for exampe is primarily a sports car creature comforts only as needed. so given the history of the car this is not unheard off. On a side note engine technology has also been pushed as far as the marine world. if i'm not mistaken the original diesign for the W16 engine was taken from one developed for speed boats.
in todays content based world is 35GB enough. I work for a mid sized architecture firm. our back up typically is 60 GB every day on DLT tapes. A DLT tape costs in the range of $40 where as an 40/80 DLT drive is around $600. So I dont really see this being a viable alternative to the existing technology. The other question I have is how well does the disk hold up to abuse. aren't most drive based solutions pretty tempermental when it comes to shock damage ?
I was watching a program on TLC where contractors actually hunt for submerged wood. aparantly wood which has been submerged for 10 plus years are worth their weight in gold in the furniture industry. I'm not exactly sure why but being submerged much of the time in an oxygen free mineral rich environment causes the density and finish of the would to be very unique and desireable. I wish I had a link or something I coudl share.
I am an Architect and I was pretty happy to see Sweets (the product catalogue) uses msn passport as their logon service. I have to admit it was convenient as there are drawbacks to having to remember every online service logon that you subscribe to. It's pitty this couldn't have been implimented better and or be more successful. It would be interesting to see if yahoo or aol takes a stab at this as everyone I know has a yahoo login. It would be nice to use it for everything none critical.
I have to give some credit to Verizon for really putting their competitors to shame. I pay $30 a month for DSL thats 1024/256 Mb/s I get excellent customer service. I had been an earthlink customer prior to this for over 5 years and got tired of there ever creeping up prices. My only concern here is it seems this is basically WiFi via there current cell phone network. if so then again we are going to run into the local bells muscling the market.
QC = Quality Control as far as which city I didn't post the info because it would be unprofedessional. This is just an example of something that happens all over america.
Unamed city in CA, having a unamed noise program that spends over 20 million a year. pays consultant (large nation wide acoustic company) to prepare plans. When the city realizes the plans are riddled with errors and confronts the consultant, the consultant request additional funds because QC. was not a part of their contract. Not only that the contract that the consultant has with the city is time & materials. the consultant by the way is currently requesting more funds to complete the project that they ( a year ago) signed a contract for saying they woudl complete. Yes this is all true and my grammer sucks. But This is happening right now in a Southern CA city near you. moral of the story, get involved with your local municipality and find where your tax dollars are going. Administration doesnt' give a damn if the tax payers dont give a damn
My gut says with the deficit being what it is. Military spending being what it is, and this being a election year Bush has to start cutting back somewhere. I wouldn't be suprised if many simular products get cut. We have all but demolished any army that would justify the comanche (ie stealth) and we are allies with everyone else.
Convict has escaped from some holding area. has enough time to change his appearance just enough. If you look like this person or yrou acting suspicious does a cop not have the right to ask who you are and to prove it. if now how are they to do thier job. Just because a cop asks for ID doesnt' mean he is trying to arrest you. Hey i'm a black man in LA and yes there have been times where i've felt unfairly picked out from a crowd. However i'm a law abiding citizen who pays taxes and likes the fact that the crime rate in my community isn't bad. Thus if a cop asks for ID i'll give it to him. No he doesnt' have to say please or thank you. It would be nice btu he doesnt' have to. I think an unfair comparison is being made to Natzi germany. This is simple a cop trying to do his job, seperate the bad from the good, based on teh general priniciples and premis of the consitution and law. and prosicute the guilty. People need to realize in teh real worl someone who is an evil child mulestore looks no different from a say yrou standard joe schoe. Half of police work is based on gut and instinct. If you see someone sitting at the side of the road for no apparant reason, it is within your means to evaluate that person. That may involve checking his ID and letting him know hey i'm a cop and i'm watching you. something as simple as that could diture a would be rapist. sorry for the grammer.
I had a pet ferret name Ishido, who somehow knew how to climb into a vending machine and release all sorts of goodies. I didnt' teach him this but one day at the laundry mat he snuck up into the machine in the soda tray then after a minute of calling at him about four sodas and a ferret fell out. surprisingly he could repeat the trick.
keep in mind the technology is the dog, the stock market is the tail. With regards to tech companies at least. If what your saying is right both companies above would be kick of the NASDAQ right now. however the lack of recourses, R&D, bad decisions have cought up with them and what are the stocks worth. Allegience was worth $40 plus not is just below ten cents.
lets see we usedto play this on an IBM XT think it was a 286. This was in teh computer lab at school that only had one computer. The screen was green though. It amused me hwo you had to answer these question that only a middle aged american would know in order to start the game.
in '88 I think my dad purchased an amstrad 2400 I think. it had an 8088 with 512k of ram and two 5.25" floppies. It had a basic gui type interface very simular with windows 1.0 which came out much later. it could run quite a few games including test drive. I've seen Apple IIe that dont even come close quite honeslty

road the same shape as the wheel. Simple a full pipe being the road and some gifted skate boarder.
