  1. how my grand father made coffee on Coffee Flavored Breakfast Cereal · · Score: 1

During coffee season most of the coffee is sold to trucks that go around and generally end up at some large processing plant. my grandfather typically would leave a smole portion for home use. the process is as follows.

    1.)

the coffee would be placed in a mortor with water and 'chumed' basically squished around until the fleshy part of the fruit has been removed. (The fruit is actually quite sweet)

    2.)

the coffee is then layed out on large concrete surfaces to dry for a few days. after drying it is then 'tharshed' in the wind to blow away the dried of particles leaving only the bean which has a brownish grayish color. This is then stored as it keep pretty well

    3.)

every now and again my grandfather would then 'parch' (roast) the coffee in a big cast iron pot looking almost like a coldron stiring it with a ladel. For coffee lovers this is about as close as you come to heaven.

    4.)

the parched coffee is then ground usually to avery powdery concistence.

    5.)

now keep in mind in jamaica your nto rich and in the case of my grandfather there was no electricity at thier house. so he had a tall metal thrumos of sorts which he would put the grounds in then he would pure boiling hot water on top then cover it. after all the ground settled then the coffee was poured off the top to a big old waiting 'mug' which was basically an enamel coffee cup.

to date I have never ever had coffee so good.

  3. and how to brew that ultimate cup of coffee on Coffee Flavored Breakfast Cereal · · Score: 5, Interesting

ok my grandfather used to be a coffee farmer in jamaica so i'm an expert.

The ultimate cup of coffee recipe

Blend a nice dark Roast like Yuban with the light flavor of something like Folgers or my favorite Jamaican blue mountain.

use two filters as the slower straining process allows more flavor.

use one very very big heaping spoon for each cup.

remove the glass thingy (carraffe) and allow the coffee brew to almost fill the part of the coffee machine with the coffee grounds.

Take your mug and put it in place of the carraffe and let the liquid mana fil your cup.

add a pinch of salt, then sweeten to your preference.

put the carraffe back so everyone else can enjoy.

They do not go on the internet without permission and they conduct themselves as we dictate. No chat rooms, no e-mails from anyone we dont already know. The parents of all there friends form a network with us via e-mail and the children are aware of this. They also respect it understanding the inherent dangers of the internet. Using yahoo parental controls anyone sending them e-mails with profanities or pre flagged words gets reported to us.
