Wasn't there all this with the iphone though? Ooooh look, it's MASSIVE! You'll look like a dork holding that big thing next to your ear.
Personally, I like the idea of a smart watch, phone and glasses. Battery life should be a priority I imagine, and any improvements in that tech will flow out to phones pretty much immediately I'd say. I think of it as a smartphone wrapped around your wrist that will be monitoring your pulse. Anything else it can access by skin contact to determine health?
I don't know, but a monitoring system that can auto alert the paramedics upon a clear heart attack, even if you're alone - will call and give gps, and there's a prior, crude datalog of heart activity beforehand? Count me in. It might even be able to say - hey dude, I've been monitoring your heart activity over the past year, and you should go see a doctor to look at X Y Z more carefully! That's a watch that I want.
I don't like paying for the thing and then it serving me ads over the internet. Can anyone detail an easy way to find where my TV is getting these ads from and block / replace them?
I've thought about a linux transparent proxy between the TV and my router, analysing the logs, then writing a script to replace the offending ad, but that just seems like too much bother, although replacing the ad with my own image has a definite appeal. Is there a decent router than can block a specific address or two to stop these ads?
You have mental people, we have mental people. But YOUR mental people use guns, and you say that taking the guns away isn't a solution? Strike up another mental one. That's you, by the way.
Are you mental? Saving a dying man didn't change anything? It saved him, and his family from their grief. Who will care if you torture me? I will, and my family will. That's called being human. Life is a fleeting wonder, and something to be saved and cherished and extended for as long as possible, not dismissed away. You are seriously sick.
It would not be moral. If there's one thing I would not do it's lie to someone on their deathbed. You don't comfort them by telling them they will continue, you comfort them by reminding them about the lives they have touched. It's the human thing to do.
Atheism isn't about meaningless actions - it's the opposite. Atheism is the only way to bring meaning to your life. If I see a dying man and give CPR, that saves him and enriches me. None of that is meaningless. None of it has to do with a wizard in the sky. Morality comes from us and our actions. Meaningless would be sitting in a cold stone church asking for things to be made better, then not lifting a finger and going home.
Nonsense. Loads of evidence of people doing that - saving people from car wrecks then drowning themselves, jumping on grenades for your mates etc. People die every day helping strangers. It's in our nature, as well as the murderous instinct. That's why humans are brilliant and terrifying at the same time. god has nothing to do with it.
I agree. I'm not an amoral person, and I am a strong atheist. Every religious person I've met seems to be lacking in humility, morality and considered thought. I'm aware they may be outweighed by other religious people who might be lovely, and atheists who might be scumbags, but from my observations, they stack up well. I don't need god or a book to tell me right from wrong. I've got me and mine for that.
And he was a great man to talk to, always had time for anyone who wanted to speak to him about science or astronomy. A great character, and humble through and through.
I disagree. Why does a simple ipod obfuscate all the files on it, rather than keep a simple folder/file structure that would be usable by any other mp3 player? Apple lock in. I've used itunes and it's not good. What about muti user management? Multi device management? It doesn't seem to do those very well. I see itunes as the unfortunate way of getting music onto my ipod, not the best way. MIllions of users use itunes because they have to. Blaming the end user for the failings of itunes strikes of fanboi.
This also applies to average speed cameras - they need 2 cameras to clock you and give an average speed, but it requires you to be in the same lane to do it. So while the plate is read, you can speed and not be ticketed if you switch lanes.
Because obviously when that model applies, I pay for every byte coming down the pipe. Internet adverts I don't mind so much. When I HAVE TO PAY to receive them, then that's a different story. Browsing with images switched off? Check. Flash, fancy HTML5 anims and stuff off? Check. Youtube use for random funny cat videos? Not while I have to pay for each of them.
That is a hell of an idea. Where do you draw the line? 50% in? I think I'd set it at an hour, with 5 mins grace time. If you leave before an hours up, the refund is all yours. Amazing idea.
Uridium was famous for the front logo having more colours though. A real feat given the limitations of the platform. I still play it at times (along with others - jetpac is the best of the lot IMO)
The educational version for release later will be cased. They want it in the hands of alpha nerds first to kickstart projects and development for it so that it's all there later this year.

Did they have the machine that goes ping! in the OR?
Do you think we will ever create another probe that would overtake Voyager 1 for distance from the sun?
And again. That video is amazing.

Come on. What about a restriction to not allow demonstrations at funerals? Is that not reasonable? Is that really so 'fascist'?
These poor sods are burying their 6 and 7 years olds, and you think it's ok for WBC to do this?

That's perhaps ultimately worse. Giving someone false hope.

Someone would. He can't kill millions on his own, so he's not guilty alone, and others who follow him would step up.
Love to the point of a self-sacrificial death

Are you joking? $329 will be £329 most likely.

Unmetered internet is the way to go.

Stake is also a verb. You stake a vampire with a stake.

Uridium?
That was the beauty. I used to write a lot in BASIC on a speccy, and the lines flowed out rather quickly. Until you had to renumber them of course.
