The effect varies, depending on whether it is smoked or eaten. I've heard the *high* and impairment effects last longer when its eaten. Jokingly, I'd say to test if a person is DUI, wave a bag or Doritos in front of their face and determine if the subject has cravings.
I'd like to see Starcraft II for Linux
If there's ever another version of Never Winter Nights, I'd like to see that on Linux.
Same for any of the ElderScrolls series of games from Bethesda.
Just raise the price of postage a little and discontinue delivery services on Saturdays. That should take care of it. I know people have advocated replacing the USPS with private carriers but I don't like that idea at all. First, the USPS is a longstanding service invented by Ben Franklin before we even became a nation. Second, private carriers would probably be more expensive. Third, private carriers probably would not deliver to many rural and residential locations (much like Fed Ex and UPS operate now) that the USPS delivers to now. Fourth, we've seen that private carrier quality of service is really no better than the USPS

I was twice a Netflix member. I quit because I wasn't happy with their selection, which is really only of value if you have children. Now I'm an Amazon Prime Member. Amazon is priced competitively plus as a former studen,t I'm now paying $40 per year for the short term. The selection of "free" movies for Prime members is comparable to Netflix's selection but there is a greater selection at additional prices. Plus, I get the added benefit of free 2-day shipping for anything I buy through Amazon. On the whole, I think Amazon Prime is a better deal. I'm primarily a linux user with Chrome and my only issue is having to use Firefox just to watch movies because Chrome's built-in Flash player doesn't support DRM.
That said, people sure seem stupider than they were when I was young
Are you sure? What I mean by that is, many of us grow wiser and more mature as we age through experience and education. Have you ever recently watched I movie and said "Wow. I really enjoyed watching that when I was 12 but now, it just seems so stupid. This is not how I remembered it".
Then Texas would build a big wall around Austin and form a blockade around it. The U.S. would have to air-drop food supplies and stuff in. Hmmm...this all sounds familiar.
But Ubuntu has Unity which requires a 3d desktop that uses compiz. I thought that desktop gaming performance on Ubuntu compared to other OS's AND other linux distros was relatively poor because of Unity. Not to mention that I and most people hate Unity. I've switched to Cinnamon.
I am going to post AC, but what I see coming from heavy pot users is two things:I am going to post AC, but what I see coming from heavy pot users is two things:
The key word you used here is HEAVY pot users. In moderation, alcohol isn't bad for you (unless you DWI). In excess, you kill brain cells, suffer liver damage, etc. Food in moderation is okay...too much food and you become obese along with all the health issues related to obesity (ex: diabetes). Its okay to play video games once in a while...but, play WOW day and night and you may end up ignoring your job, your wife, kids and health.
Most posters here are not talking about heavy use. They are talking about occasional to moderate use.
Newer versions don't come with LXDE installed as the default DE. Right now, there's MATE, Cinnamon, KDE and XFCE.
because society wants to discern between people who drink/get high responsibly and people who do not.

Lets take out a patent on a new patent system with a new patent office and head.

I use dual boot. My laptop came with Windows 7 so I keep it but Ubuntu has been my OS of choice...that will soon change to Linux Mint.
No, I'm not. And don't call me Shirley. :P
I would think the first amendment would protect the poster.
Normally, yes, but in the case that the speaker is knowingly putting the life of others in danger, not so much.
Okay but, doesn't calling for an assassination constitute a threat to the POTUS' life?
Remember Twinkie, The Kid? R.I.P.

That's not so impressive. I'm invisible too. I know this because people always ignore me.
I promiss my company sends no unwanted pizza related texts.
Sorry. I last saw the show in its original airing and when I was 6. I thought it was great, at the time.
It may seem ludicrous such a common word can be trademarked, but apparently this is a valid claim as Apple is now serving notices to app developers.
No more ludicrous than having a patent on a rectangle with rounded corners. :P
Sounds like something right out of Space 1999, which was considered very pseudoscience.

I'm not sure what it is about the US that makes it impossible to have more than 2
Here's a hint: $$$$$$$$

kudos to Samsung. You can't really expect Samsung to bend over and take it with the recent $1B Apple win on silly patents, can you?
who says its better? Is it the brand name alone, that makes it better?
There's nothing innovative about icons evenly aligned on a grid OR a rectangle with rounded corners.

Not surprising that pot helps with creative thought. Musicians and poets have been using it to for that purpose for decades.
