that makes total sense to me, it's clear mainstream media (movies and series) portray one moral mindset, its why i rarely enjoy hollywood movies anymore, somehow love always saves the day, something i havent experienced a lot irl:)
idem dito, anyone i get along with i can meet outside working hours, i don't need to get along with someone to act pro during working hours, if i were to feel that my work is becoming my social life, i would be worried and feel the need to make adjustments, nuff said, happy labour day.
i'm sorry to interrupt but art ads no practical value to anything. art is a form of expression that becomes possible only in an environment that has the luxury of being able to allow it. art could help improve awareness but because of the numbness of todays society and the select specific public it reaches it's mostly useful for keeping the loudmouth pseudo-intellectuals down. Don't get me wrong, i do love art and i'm all up for creativity, but creativity itself does not need funding, and (in my not so humble opinion) art should not get public funding when there's real practical problems that need tackling. As far as i have seen, a real artists creativity is not bound by lack of funding ever. All too often it is an obscured form of marketing and lust for attention (they call it mediageil here). Private funding is private, i dont think its anyone's business who gives hir or her personal money to whatever they give it to.
mmyeah, i was like thinking more something like : whatever happened to format c: ? how does an infection survive that ? did i miss something somewhere ? does one need an army of slaves to backup data these days ? i mean, like, if you know you're infected and all.. eum... i'm confused, it does not compute
has anyone installed it? is it worth repartitioning my hard drive or plugging in an extra one to see what i will have to bear with next when i play games, i keep my pc booted into windows lately cos games are the only void passtime except dreaming that seem valid and i'm too lazy to reboot just to surf around. creativity is dead, it's all been reduced to anything you can do i can do better and the proof lies in making people admit, not in providing, no? yes? who cares? i do... sometimes
the few documents i have stored in zee cloud i have backed up... steam could fuck me over by going bankrupt before heroes VI gets released tho... what can we learn from this ? even the greatest fall for marketing ploys sometimes : don't buy any product that isn't there yet
i think that is not a question of should or shouldn't , it's a matter of will happen if you do
according to current psychology.
and by that i dont mean the way its described but the way it's happening
because you dont get mortal kombat or tekken on the pc, i have a kinect, kinect sports is kinda fun and im looking forward to the star wars game, but if all of those were to make it to pc (including motion control for wannabe jedi's) i'd probably sell the xbox and kinect right away, its hardware is totally inferior to my diy-box. So... what software does this razermotionthing come with? razerimals ? if so, good luck selling it to pc-gamers
leaves me very not interested, again. I never knew microsof was so nationalist when it came to ripping people off with ridiculous prices for stuff you can get everywhere. If i look at the xbl games on demand, Halo reach download sells for more then 70 euros, while you can get it for about 35 in a store here ??!?
who would inherit the earth again ?
investing in rooftop solar panels just caused energy prices to rise as high as 10% here. The company blames it on other companies abusing the law that makes it profitable to install them. Corporations just used the law as it was written. The employers (the people, how do you say that ?) get to pay the bill. A little fuss is made about it, nothing changes except for the fact that all these people with solar panels now have a little energy for free and the others pay the difference in profit back to the energy company?
It's confusing, except for the fact that it's not
The question might remain, does the public want to be educated or does it prefer to stay in a semi-conscious state of routine where every difficult question is taken care of, because of the "what can we do about it?"-mentality.
I think a lot of people (probably not the kind to be hanging around a flashless website full of info you have to actually read) are very content with not knowing about every filthy bit reality has to offer. It's sad, but i think that goes for a lot of people.
Here in Belgium we have a few, but most of the newer ones buy energy from the ancient one. The ancient one would be the one selling "green" energy derived mostly from nuclear plants (from what i've read) and other ancient techniques, there was a big debate before the last elections, but now, one year later, we still have no actual government, there seem to be no new elections in sight and all the media talks about is the next big plan to form a government... energy and a place to live in seems to be of less importance
most of the interesting stuff seems to be limited to the us only, cant get any shows i like (dexter, spartacus,...) on demand here. tv however is evil, i dont have cable in my lonely room. I get by with the internet , getting to pick what i like to see and read instead of watching the same five o clock news every day suits me just fine. Slashdot does seem to be getting the biggest share in feeding my info-hunger however, even if i'm not an established scientist or ueberdev making phat lewtz wit leet code. I cant think of any site that's so clear, handles that many topics and gives everyone the right to speak (i tried arguing with the newsreader but the tv doesnt seem to respond very much). If anyone were to have suggestions they would be most welcome.
yea, why not leave it at the discretion of the parents, after all, if you have kids you're supposed to be able to deal with them, i mean, it's not like any idiot can get a car without a license and it's not like any idiot can get elected into a position where he can pass laws that make decisions for millions of people ? Truth can be a double-edged sword that cuts at the hilt when you try to stab someone with it. I havent hit anyone over the head since i took up gaming again, not that i didnt want to, im just too busy doing nothing in my spare time now.
i"m sorry but i fail to see the similarity between people fighting to obtain their freedom and companies fighting to deny people their freedom . O wait there is some similarity. It's like north against south, right ? One side wants freedom? The others wants to keep the peasants in check... But no , i still fail to see how that metaphore of yours would work in this given situation. But i think i get the point you want to make : who's to decide what's right or wrong ? the masses or the few enlightened despots... no... something like that, right ?
beat me there, i thought unemployment offices here were primus when it comes to senseless actions but this beats everything i've seen by at least half a lightyear... round here it would be called a 'ludieke actie' , meaning it gathers a lot of attention in the media but in the end it always turns out to be pointless and forgotten quickly (quickly forgotten ?... meh, im sure the gremmar makes sense...)
nazi's do it in the name of ueber, hippies do it for your protection... the result is the same : you are raped (in a non physical way)... once more it feels good to not have an i or any kind of smart phone, my 20 euro cell doesnt even have bluetooth on it, let alone wifi . I still havent seen one app that i would need (as in : i need my pc or laptop)
and why are games on ps3 and xbox 360 1 disc each? with the difference in capacity shouldnt you have like a 3dvd to 1 bd ratio somehow? or do ps3 owners just get a disc thats filled to only 1/3 of capacity ? i got only one xbox game that has 3dvds and that's final fantasy xiv.. Most people i know are still stuck with 720p tv's or older models as well. I picked up sherlock holmes, the road and shutter island (on dvd) last week, about 20 euros for the three (all new dvds on sale), thats probably 50 euros diff from buying them on bd , thats the price of a dvd player / recorder about - ish here... i can see why i myself dont switch to bd, even with the 50" screen thats primarily used for gaming 1920x1080 , i dont know about others
that makes total sense to me, it's clear mainstream media (movies and series) portray one moral mindset, its why i rarely enjoy hollywood movies anymore, somehow love always saves the day, something i havent experienced a lot irl :)
because we can :)

i wouldnt
the same i do to every claim : since i took up gaming again, i haven't hit anyone over the head
the advice being : DONT protect that router since you could as well be swatted for downloading an mp3 in some places... ?!?
