The issue is not a legal one, a judge can be disqualified on those grounds already..
What they are saying is that they simply cannot be friends, the provisions to remove the judge is already there in the event they are friends be it on facebook or otherwise
Hence the provisions in your legal system to disqualify a judge based on a potential conflict of interest, to simply say they can't befriend them is retarded.
Or to expect that they will have no friends in the profession they likely worked as for many years while gaining there position on the bench.
worse off is the fact that a social networking site is the basis to decide if a conflict of interest exists..

My real problem is simply that it has become an important part of viewing the web now, sometimes you can't avoid it ie a service provider you subscribe to uses it and you NEED to get something from there online billing system for example and there's many others i'm not going to get into.
I just feel that to be a web standard you should be REQUIRED to publish either source or adequate documentation so an alternative player can be created
Yea they were definitely a pioneer in the early days and I'd go as far as to say that without them streaming media may not be where it is now..
they used to be the defacto standard but now can best be summed up by the original post "RealPlayer?"
perhaps that is going a bit to far to have them banned from social networking sites and who knows what else in the future simply monitoring there actions when registered minors is involved is probably best.
I'm not in support of child molesters but if they have served there time they deserve the same rights and freedoms as the rest of us
including the ability to socialize online with there legitimate friends, perhaps even dating sites.. (adult dating sites;)
I'd be happy if EA just once released a game that wasn't bug ridden and useless for the first few days or weeks until they start patching
I wonder if there crappy DRM has anything to do with there games barely working..
