I was grinding at level 14. Seriously, I rolled a Blood Elf rogue and when I hit level 14 I had completed all my quests and all my contacts would give me were quests 3+ levels above me. Some of you will say, well you should have left the area and headed to the Undercity or elsewhere. Sure, I could but the point is that at level 14 you shouldn't have to grind or travel far out of the starting area to be able to continue levelling. It shows some pretty bad construction of the quests in the area on the part of Blizzard to have to start grinding at that low of a level.
How about they take some of that money and stop making areas for level 70s and add content for us lower level casual players?
Yes, I'm certain you are correct. It is not at all possible that the people at Atomic Energy Canada (who invented the CANDU reactor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CANDU) know anything about engineering.
Why should Canada complain? It is quite apparent from discussions on Slashdot that many of you don't think there is anything wrong and that we Canadians who actually care about you and your country should just shut up. While I don't take Slashdot posters as a representative whole of your nation's people, when you combine those comments with the fact that there doesn't appear to be any movement of any kind by Americans to actually hold the current administration responsible for any of this crap, it sincerely looks like the entire lot of you don't actually care that this is happening. Seriously is there no provision in your Constitution for removing the current administration from power? Or is there no one down there with the balls to do it? Last I heard, your President had a lower approval rating than Nixon at the height of the Watergate scandal. Hello? Hello, any one down there that actually cares?
I sincerely pity people like you that seem to think everything is still A-OK in La-La Land. I hope you enjoy the fascist state your government is building...with a reaction like yours you completely deserve it.
Don't worry you won't have to ever encounter people like me or the OP in your country we are obviously not welcome nor wanted with our tourist dollars to spend. We will happily travel to other countries that don't treat us like criminals.
And hey, if you don't think Canada was ever relevant on the world stage that's fine. I'll just make sure to join my fellow countrymen in calling for our government to remove our troops from Afghanistan where they went to help your country after 9/11. And speaking of 9/11 since Canada isn't relevant, the next time your country is attacked you can fark off and keep your damn planes in your own airspace. We'll happily close our border to you and your kind to protect ourselves.
Seriously, why should there be outrage? Microsoft or not.
The guy installed beta software and is now complaining when his computer is hosed. It is not the fault of the OS or the manufacturer it is clearly the users fault for:
1) not backing up his data 2) not paying attention to the EULA and warnings when installing the beta software 3) not backing up his data
Yes I said "not backing up his data" twice. What the heck do people expect when using beta software? Especially something like Boot Camp which allows you to choose what OS boots on your computer. Beta does not mean "reliable, stable software", it means "installer beware, here there be dragons".
Format. This is the one thing that will always ruin ebook readers. Every company doing ebooks has their own ideas about the file format and the ebooks you buy today will probably be unreadable in the near future. This is why books have survived for as long as they have...printed words on a page are pretty much the same now as they were 150 years ago. Do you honestly think that in 150 years you will be able to open a Microsoft Reader ebook or a Sony ebook or a Palm ebook, or a Kinder ebook? I don't. But I do know that I can pick up a book that was published 150 years ago and still be able to open it, turn the pages, look at the pictures, and if it is written in English be able to read it.
I'll buy an ebook reader when either one format comes out the winner and all other formats are tossed to the wind or someone develops an ebook reader that can read all existing ebook formats with expandability for future formats. In other words I doubt I will ever buy an ebook reader.
Had I pushed my luck my second question would have been, who has
verified this proof that has taught an automata theory course at a
suitably accredited institution?
You're right, your 3 credit cards leads to 15 tickets. But you can't buy out the entire block of tickets before Joe citizen gets a chance to buy his two tickets. As for a scalper having hundreds of cards? Are you serious? Does any one person have hundreds of credit cards?
Also, "In slightly different names, with slightly different addresses(a couple PO boxes, for example)." that's credit card fraud.
Ticketmaster should set a limit of 5 tickets per credit card. Not per transaction but per credit card. That would stop the brokers. But what does Ticketmaster care? As one of the brokers (scalpers) in the article said Ticketmaster is getting full value for the tickets. It is the fans that are getting the shaft.
I'm waiting for this product too. I'm looking for something with the iPhone interface but about the size of the Sony Reader (the size of a paperback book but much more thin). The screen is definitely large enough for editing documents without straining to read the text and overall is small enough to carry around easily. I don't want to use it as a phone but I want it to be able to access the cellular network to browse the web anywhere (literally anywhere including the middle of the Arizona desert) without having to worry about finding a Wi-Fi hotspot. I was visiting a friend recently and was completely floored that his iPhone was able to connect to the Edge network when we stopped at a gas station in the middle of nowhere between Flagstaff and Phoenix.
A lot of MMORPG players know that if you are looking at a female character on the screen it is most likely a 40 year old fat guy at the other end of the cable. This is actually a level of protection for the real female gamers who are playing. Less chance of them getting harassed because who wants to mistakenly hit on the 40 year old fat guy? Also if it really is a woman playing she can just say "Dude, I'm a guy." This company is taking away that level of protection from their female players. Most will either leave or role male characters to avoid the harassment.
Ummm...interesting analogy but too bad you left out the most important part. Microsoft violated Java licensing by modifying the language and adding Windows only specific functionality to it. That is what Sun had a problem with and why for a short time between offering Java on windows and then C# there existed J++ which was what Microsoft had to call it since Sun would not allow them to call it Java.
Incorrect. HP/Compaq switched their notebooks over to partitions approximately 1.5 to 2 years ago.
Really?
Glances over at recovery disks for HP Pavilion laptop that is 1 year old. Also had recovery disks for HP Pavilion laptop previous to this one. My ex also has recovery disks for her HP Pavilion laptop and the one she had previous to that. Word of advice, don't buy an HP Pavilion laptop without the extra store insurance. We have both replaced our originally purchased laptops due to various problems with them.
Every laptop that I have purchased have always had recovery disks included in the box. Some of the stores must be opening the boxes and removing the disks. That, or the customers are completely clueless.
I'd like to see the Battlestar Galactica and the rest of the fleet jump in close to Earth and find it completely destroyed by a nuclear war that happened 5 years earlier. No signs of any life and the planet is completely uninhabitable. Then immediately before the credits role, have 10 Cylon Base Stars jump in right behind and show them launching every raider and missle they have towards the fleet.
What is the point of Googling something if you are not even going to read through the search results? The 5th link down, Ed Bott's Media Central HBO stops working with Media Center contains an explanation of the problem, the cause and the fix.
Last time I checked neither of them were law enforcement agencies. Lately they sure have been acting like they are. What's next the RIAA/MPAA legal system with courts and prisons?

The End for Vonage?

I'm a Vonage Canada customer as well and I am just holding my breath hoping this gets sorted out. I have been a Vonage customer since it first broke into the Canadian market and I will sorely hate to lose the service. One of the best features is the virtual phone numbers (I have 2, one in Arizona and one elsewhere in Canada). There don't seem to be any VoIP competitors in Canada that offer the same features as Vonage so switching to something else is going to be very difficult.

Well they certainly haven't been adding bandwidth thats for freaking sure.

THREE uncompressed (CD-quality) DRM-free songs for $6? That's about $2.00 per song, not much higher than Apple's DRM-free pricing.
/Why would I buy this?
//Hates ringtones.
In fact, since you're getting it uncompressed, I'm not seeing the problem here... Their pricing is in line with digital downloads.
According to the article it is TWO DRM-free songs and a ringtone of $6. That's $3.00 per song actual song and a crappy ringtone.

Marriott has a network and customers use it. Marriott realizes the network is overwhelmed by the customer use and is now upgrading it.
So where's the horror? Or is this just Marriott's way of advertising their new network?
Ummm....no, I think the complaint was how stupid it was to be playing a guitar to kill things.
It really is stupid if you give it some thought.
