Maybe. I still am rocking my PS3, too. But there are Black Friday deals this year for a PS4 1TB bundled with the new Spider Man game for $199. Tell me they're not going to sell the shit out of those. I'm actually thinking about getting one, even though the PS3 is still doing fine for me.
PS5 is right around the corner, and you can run kodi on the Xbox apparently. (Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals for them as well)
How much are 1TB drives going for nowadays? I last bought a 3TB drive for under a hundred a few years ago
There are plenty of less expensive options for internet TV than a PS4, or an Xbox. I'm still rocking my PS1 and PS3 and Dreamcast for gaming.
The very cheapest option for people with no Internet is an antenna and a cheap DVR box. Or going to the local library and checking out DVDs or Blu-Rays.
For places with no broadcast TV available \ou could also probably get satellite TV service pretty much anywhere for substantially more.
"The subway service and the bus service has become unreliable enough for people to stop using it. If people aren't using it, there's less money, and they have to keep raising fares without delivering better service."
The solution to this problem isn't increasing fares or reducing services.
It's identifying (and rectifying) why services have become unreliable to the point people don't want to use them.
What is so wrong with the FIDO spec? Passwordless, asymmetric authentication is absolutely the future and the right thing to do. Are you so blinded by Microsoft hate that you are unable to see this?
You totally forgot the/s tag at the end of your satire.
How many cameras do you actually want or need? for me, 2 seems to be more than enough.
5G support will be good, with actual "unlimited" caps on wireless accounts.
Otherwise it's just a faster way to start throttling or blocking data. A couple videos and a hour or so of netflix is probably enough to burn through most carriers monthly "unlimited" bandwidth. We've already seen 4 wireless carriers throttling netflix and other services.
When their "services" become so network centric that you can't use your computing device for anything when your network connection is unavailable, then you can ask the users the original question.
Having thousands of "contributors" and pull requests don't really mean anything but pointless metrics. They seem more like metrics that can easily be gamed.
Criterion Collection (AKA WarnerMedia) has announced their plans to make their entire collection available for $9.99 a month or $89.99 for a year (for charter subscribers) to replace FilmStruck. It will be known as the Criterion Channel.
They should be reduced to a series of companies that don't create content, and are only allowed to exist in one state, never permitted to be re-united aka AT&T
If that isn't enough, start breaking up the companies by city.
YouTube can just block all of the EU and watch the hilarity.
I have a better idea.
Create servers for EU IP ranges.
Fully license and redirect every video link to a certain Rick Astley video with an announcement to contact the EU if they have any problems with copyright protection.
$10.99 a month isn't ruinous, but maybe Netflix could create live streams of local television content in my area. 40 or so channels, ala-carte would be nice. I don't need any shopping channels though.
IOS.
Then I'd use the same activation phrase and let them fight it out to see which one wins.

When was the last time anyone visiting this web site EVER shopped at a Gap retail store?
It's probably been 30+ years since I've set foot in a GAP.
Wilson Leather was my favorite mall coat store though.

It's so old news, you forget we've always been at war with Finland over their forest raking.
Only socialists and communists rake their forests.
It's like not letting people pump their own gas, creating so many jobs in NJ and Oregon.
In other Rake News...

Just because the critics love a movie, doesn't mean anyone want's to see it.
For the most part Academy Award winning films are something I avoid.
If I want hard-hitting depressing reality, I'll go hang out at the bus terminal.

Bio-Dome? I don't even think they play that on cable.

Shopping channels still exist?? I suppose as cheap as they are to produce, they must get some kind of return.
Shopping channels pay cable companies to be included instead of the other way around.
local OTA has the shopping channel eating valuable bandwidth that could be used for anything else.
4 PBS channels and 40-60 other channels (some are low power so unless you live right in the city you can't receive them.)
