Yeah, that's what I was thinking... it seems like the Linux community usually prides itself on being able to hack Linux to run on any hardware... But since it will make Microsoft look bad to say that this "Athens PC" will only run windows no matter what, they seem to have forgotten.
Uh, no offense or anything, but I don't think that this is going to let you see 3D either... what with the whole one-eye == no depth perception thing and all.
They use people because the machines are not without a sense of irony. Right now you have a gazillion innocent transisters hooked up and happily switching on and off, and back on again; with no idea at all that they're simply another cog in the machine.
Torrentse.cx also serves at least one other forum. the $10 for their forums is pretty much just a donation to pay for the bandwidth, which last month was close to 100 gigs (I think that's what I heard hello.jpg say anyway.) So fuck off.

I've been trying to get Duke to work with vdmsound for months. I even bought a sound blaster 16 specifically to play duke, still no dice... I think it just doesn't like windows.

a Win32 port HAS been released. Check this thread on the 3drealms forum. It supports all versions of duke (except the shareware), and you don't need to install it, you just need the.grp file and the.cons that were released with the source.
I routinely get 180kbytes/second (the max for my connection) with bittorrent. Of course not all that is linux ISOs, mostly movies and TV shows from the bittorrent board on the SA Forums. But still, 15k is pretty slow, you might have other problems.
It's not really price fixing

LCD Price Fixing?

There's only a limited number of LCDs availible. The more a company buys, the cheaper they can get the panels for. Laptops sell more and are sold for more than LCD monitors. A company that sells laptops can, therefore, buy more LCDs than a company that sells LCD monitors. They can get them more cheaply, and afford to sell them more cheaply.
It's not really price-fixing proper, just basic economics.
To be perfectly honest, I heard the 76% number on MSNBC earlier today, and tossed it out in my first post. After someone asked for my source, I hit news.google.com and pulled the first 4 numbers that I found.
I just heard the 76% number on MSNBC about a half hour before I posted that, and it said "approve of the war", not "agree that iraq is a threat." A search on google revealed several similar numbers: 62%, 70%, 72%, another vote for 72%, 76% (note that it says in no unclear terms that "76% approve of President Bush's decision to attack").
Perhaps you have a credible source that claims the numbers are lower?
Interestingly enough, that's no different than the protest strategy that everyone else in the world is using. Seriously, what good does tying up traffic or puking do to get people to agree with you?
Not a damn thing. 76% of Americans approve of the war, but the protesters want to make it seem like they are the majority rather than a (shrinking) minority.
give me an FTP or something to upload it to, I've got no hosting. It's 117 megs uncompressed, I'll rar it but it's mostly gifs so I doubt it'll be a lot smaller.
You mean to tell me that those viruses are written by Microsoft? No? Blame the people who write the viruses, not Microsoft.
If someone breaks into my house, I'm going to tell the police to go arrest the people who broke into my house. I'm not going to bitch at the people who made my windows.
Heh, that was sort of a pun and I didn't even plan it that way.

No, that's insane, it must be a conspiracy.

Instead of putting murderers behind bars, why don't we just make everyone wear bulletproof vests? We can't infringe on the rights of murderers!

I plan on trying to put one together when it comes back, if it's not too expensive (like, under $20... college student here)
