I'm taking bets on how long digital convergence stays in business. I doubt they make to the end of the year. They paid $100 MILLION for the rights to print a bar code, which most companies have been doing free for years. What kind of idiots are these people? -------
Is this the first time that the telephone system has felt the Slashdot effect?
Have you ever tried to make a long-distance call on New Years Eve at Midnight, or on mother's day? You usually get a message like "All circuits are busy, please hang up and try again." -------
What's the catch? Transmeta's claims haven't been tested by third parties. Although the Crusoe family debuted in January, neither the chips nor products containing the chips have been released on the open market. Analysts and independent benchmark testers have also complained about a lack of access to demonstration models.
Hmmm, is Transmeta hiding something, or is it just their trademark secrecy in action?
Budget person: "So Dilbert, you say that cutting your project's funding will cause the Earth to abruptly stop spinning, flinging us all into space. And Wally, you say that cutting your budget will cause... 'A Plauge Of Locusts O'er the Land'. I'll cut both; with luck we'll fling the locusts into space."
Dilbert to Wally: "Locusts, real good."
Ok. The javascript thing is slashdotted so I'll probably never know why I have to be 18. (I'm not.) AND, I had a chance at winning the AOL CD contest, but knowing slashdot someone'll probably make a webserver made entirely out of CDs and destroy any chances I have. Slashdot sucks.
This was an experiment in Nazi Germany, it was one of those things they did to captured Jews for fun. Supposedly it worked pretty well, but the people died of infection pretty quickly. It might be able to work today, though.
Wouldn't that make it hard to wipe your ass?

It seems like whenever I hit my "mail" key, I get a lot of Porn. Perhaps I've just remapped it by accident?

Just what we need... Pretty soon hardcore geeks will get into VI vs. Word shouting matches.
-------
dunno. It's a (semi)random number, I'll tell you that. I never checked to see if it's real or not.
