    Because, by releasing *everything*, as opposed to just those 1000 or so that you, or someone else finds "damning", it becomes difficult to portray wikileaks as being *selective*, or showing bias.

    This is not another blow for wikileaks, this is just another blow for paypal.

    Have to agree with the random questions...and mine from *Canadian* border folk - who only very recently have begun to mimic their 'merican counterparts, a hundred yards away.

    It used to be one could exchange pleasantries with a fellow canuck, now he wants to know why we rented a car, as opposed to bringing one of ours....?

    As for traveling into the US anymore? About a month ago I could have shaved 3 hours off a 14 hour car trip by taking a shortcut through the states. Thanks, but no thanks.

    Can't wait till we have armed security guards in the corner convenience.

    You may find this hard-to-believe, but yesterday I was wondering if there were some way I could forward texts from one phone to another:

    I have 2 cells, one for business, the other, pleasure, and often I would that the 'twain shall meet.

    So I had a legitimate and practical purpose before I had a malicious purpose.

    As a Canadian, I can say I'm proud that somewhere in the country some semblance of common sense prevails.

    But we still have a long, long, way to go.

    I drove alone with a First Nations' elder just 4 nights ago - for over 90 minutes. During the conversation I offered to donate as many PCs, loaded with Slackware, and whatever else they needed, including legitimate MS and related software (virtually, of course), with full 24/7 support for the OS....

    My offer was dismissed in milliseconds, and I think he stopped listening at free and open source, but I could be wrong. One of his reasons was that someone on the reserve was sort of already doing something like that (erm...for $$profit$$, natch...)

    This, on a reserve where the young adults and teens huff gasoline....where 70% of the residents live below poverty level...even in the non-reserve area, within 100kms, 40% of the young adults live below poverty level.

    Believe me, I'm trying, but the MS cancer cuts deep.

    Agreed. My mechanic will also try to source used parts (depending on vehicle, my expectations, etc.) That's how how he earns my loyalty, which is how any smart and competent mechanic *really* makes money.

    I'm guessing that the "machine *effectively* netbooted wirelessly" means that the machine was connected via ethernet cable to the wireless router (which was in bridge mode....)

    Not really sure if my explanation serves to clarify....

    I'm not so sure the op is "flaming" as much as expressing an impulsive response, with *attitude*.

    It's neither well nor tactfully stated, but I can certainly empathize because it's one of the first thoughts that popped into my head.

    And as a Canadian with many, many days spent in the US, I can unequivocally say that I *love* the USA (for whatever that means, and whatever it's worth.)
