Imagine an FPS where you start the game first time, walk into an ambush, take a single bullet, and the game is over, with no chance of replay. WTF? Many FPSes require many replays of certain boss battles until you figure out what the winning strategy is (or simply get lucky.) Learning is the key to everything; we learn IRL and we learn in games. Playing this "game" wastes all the learning that you have done in there.
Again, you missed the GPs point. Not ALL textbooks are going to be useful. There's a lot of terrible texts out there that don't address topics that are useful for everyday use. They might be interesting to some as an intellectual exercise but textbooks should have some component of use or at least interest.
To seperate the branches? To allow indepedent actions? I don't necessarily agree that the branches of the military are the only ones that should have their own data centers... but it has a *certain* internal logic at least.
Seriously... this is as obvious as saying that banks make money by taking advantage of existing regulations. It's deplorable, but it's not exactly surprising.
There's approximately 24 megabytes of data in a single ejaculation, that sounds related to a memory device that is soft and functions well in wet environments... sorry... oh my gods I'm sorry. I just HAD to go there. Also re-reading that, I think I need a prescription for Viagra.
The song of psalms for example (a delightful dirty poem allegedly written by the king himself), or all the donkey sex, incest and god condoned rape that goes on in the bible.
Huh? Do you not understand the point of Pastafarianism? It is to mock religion through demostrating equally ridiculous claims as religions and demanding that they be recognised to be as important as those other claims. No-one actually *believes* in the Flying Spaghetti Monster (no-one sane anyway) and that's the point.
While expressed poorly, he does have a point. *You* are the one who decided to comment on this thread moaning about how "this is not news". I found the article fascinating and had never considered that amateur astronomy would even exist under these conditions. Yes, people buy goods, make love, school their children in war-zones... but how many of them love science enough to risk getting killed by the local police, warlords, an occupying force and local tribesmen? It's news, deal with it.
You may think that if there are 36 numbers on a roulette wheel but really there are 37 ("0" again), and oddly enough the casino pays 35 to 1, not 37 to 1. The house ALWAYS wins, even if you gamble smartly.
Oh, I'm so sorry for using an abbreviation that's been in common use on/. for years. Maybe you could post on your account instead of AC next time you want to crtiticise someone.

There's a game like that, it's called "War.
Publishers now tend to follow the WOTC theory, a new book every year... or they lose profit.

downmod, missed the point. (OK, you may have been sarcastic but sarcasm loses it's value in written text).
Even though it was a sarcastic AC post, parent was quite insightful.

I got down-voted for a "whoosh"... damn /.
You guys are hard now.
Dr. Michael *DICK*ey, functions well in wet environments. Did anyone actually expect me to be able ignore that?

To be fair, given enough extremely good weed...
Whoosh.....
You obviously haven't been around here for a while.

...a method for digging deeper dunny holes might be one solution.
Does anyone want to play "Spot the Aussie"?
time I had an inedible airline meal was the last time I flew QANTAS.

Why does that not surprise me, somehow...
Which one would that be? The one elected by 23 million people (out of a total of 1.5 billion)?
At least they WERE elected.
You've obviously NEVER flown Tiger (and to a lesser extent, Virgin).
It works, believe it or not. It's a math game, and it's why most casinos have switched from progressive to random jackpots.

37 total numbers is 36 to 1, not 37 to 1.
